Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cadiz

We were in Cadiz for several days due to a death in the family. We took 3 rooms at Microtel Inn for 4 nights. The place is immaculate and the staff is very friendly with one very minor exception I ran in to when I grabbed 5 of the freshly made cookies for my family. The lady behind the desk didn’t seem to appreciate that someone might actually take cookies for someone that wasn’t standing right beside them. Her snide remark aside, everything else was great. The breakfast choices are varied and very good. You can make your own waffles, or have oatmeal, or cold cereal, coffee, tea, orange juice, apple juice, bagels, muffins — the pecan muffins are GREAT! There are also pre-​made omelets, bacon or sausage, biscuits and gravy, and plenty of milk, yogurt, and fruit cups. In the afternoon there is soup and those really good chocolate chip or snicker-​doodle cookies fresh out of the oven. We were given 2 single «suites» and one double «suite» even though I had booked 3 single non-​suites. Teh suites are not multi room but rather a large room with a diverder between the bed and the sleeper sofa. All were very nice and the beds and pillows are fantastic. So having said all that why 4 stares instead of 5? Two reasons. The snide remark about the cookies, and the fact that sound proofing was not a high priority during the construction process. You can hear noise from the hall coming under the doors, and noise from adjoining rooms coming through the walls, and ceilings. Oh, and I also like this place because they have a strict NO SMOKING policy and both I and my wife are allergic to smoke. Would I stay here again? YOU BETCHA I WOULD!

Nice new hotel with a friendly staff! Always plenty of breakfast variety (honestly one of the best of any hotels free breakfast’s). Cookies and soup usually available in the evenings. Pretty busy and pricey due to pipeline construction in the area. Satellite and WiFi work well. Only complaint would be the gap under the door is excessive and allows hallway noise to enter the rooms.
