ERA Stone and Tile

ERA Stone (sells marble & granite): I had a weird and shocking experience with this company. I came to them requesting to see granite for a kitchen countertop. Having thoroughly researched countertop materials I was well aware that marble is inappropriate for kitchen countertops (too soft and absorbent), and therefore I was never remotely considering it. I asked Tom to show me granites, and bought one of the pieces he showed me. After the installers had already installed the material they referred to it as marble. (The installers weren’t from ERA). I phoned Tom Oren at ERA and told him the installers said the material was marble, not granite. Tom said, «No it’s granite,» which the installer heard him say, as the phone was on speaker. I asked Tom to look into the matter. He called me back and said that actually the material was marble, insisting that he had never said it was granite, and that anyway I hadn’t told him I wanted granite. He took no responsibility and would not issue any credit of any amount.
