Green Squad

I have had a Unilocal account and never actually needed to do one until now. First, I was quoted on the phone as 79.00 per room. I have a small 3 bedroom home with a small living room. Upon entering the home the man said right away that he considers my living room double, I have owned many homes and have had many cleaning companies and I know what a double room is. My carpeting is 5 months old and in great shape but my 8 week old puppy had an accident so I wanted it cleaned. He told me that regular steam cleaning wouldn’t work and that he needed to use deodorizer. I was shocked to see that he didn’t have the machines most companies use but a small portable one that needed to be filled with hot water from my tub. He was in and out within 5 minutes and never moved any furniture. I actually will be asking them for a refund, I was so frustrated with the job. The worse part? He now said the one room was going to be 108.00 and 200.00 if I wanted bedroom done too. I had company coming in hours and had no choice at that point, but didn’t mind if he did a great job. The next day because it still smelled, I went to Bed Bath and beyond, bought a steem cleaner for less than 200.00 and did it myself and it came out better. Should have done that in the first place. total waste of my time and money.

Just an update: I’ve called several times to ask about a refund and they keep telling me a manager will call me back. Surprise! He/​she hasn’t.

Dear Green Squad,
I recently used your services and was pleased that the gentleman came out to my house on time and I was happy to use an eco friendly product to clean my outdoor cushions.
On the telephone, I was quoted a price of $ 19 per cushion for my outdoor furniture. I have 10 cushions. That would amount to $ 190.00. I also had two larger cushions for the lounge chairs which I did not know how much they would cost. The gentleman informed me that it would cost 50.00 to clean those cushions.
Instead of $ 240, the price of cleaning was $ 418.00.
That is quite a difference. The gentleman told me that my cushions needed «deep cleaning» and the regular cleaning is only with water (which seems absurd to offer a service where the cushions are only cleaned with water).
The gentleman was not really able to clean the cushions, he removed some of the dirt but they remain something that I ended up having to cover up.
I am terribly disappointed with the quality of the service and the exorbitant price which was not even close to the quoted price.

We scheduled a cleaning for our ivory, leather sofa. They wouldn’t give a price initially, but said they would have to assess the sofa first. He did show up on time and looked at the sofa. He pointed out some stains that he didn’t think would come out as well as some scratches. This was fine. He was a bit rude about some dog hair, pointing at it and giving me a look like, «really?» I was put off a little by that and wondered, «isnt’ that why you are here?» Anyway he quoted $ 550 and while I thought that was really high for one sofa, I had never had leather cleaned before and it a whole lot more than another company that I paid to clean two cloth sofas, so I stupidly agreed. He was there for all of 20 minutes. We even asked if he was really done and that was not much work for $ 550 (he took the check before cleaning, another dumb mistake). My husband asked if it was because of the cost of the chemicals and he said yes. The sofa looked a little cleaner, but no significant difference. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Lesson learned!

I drive a Ford Focus, and the interior is notorious for getting easily stained and it’s very difficult to clean. I called Green Squad, and the guy came out and steam cleaned my car on the spot in my driveway… And everything on the inside looked as good as new. Granted, it was more expensive than I had anticipated, but I haven’t come across any other service that has come close to the job that Green Squad did.

I had a truly terrible experience with Green Squad. Nathan, the manager and cleaning technician, can not be trusted. When confronted he got personal and made incredibly inappropriate comments. Here are the details:
I needed cleaning of a sofa and two chairs. It was important to me to use green cleaning products. I found Green Squad on Google. When I called they gave me a fixed price quote of $ 189 and I scheduled the cleaning.
When Nathan arrived he took one look at the sofa and said «Oh, this needs deep cleaning!» saying that it is more involved and will cost $ 389. Looking back at it I should have kicked him out right then. The sofa is cream and it was dirty from kids playing on it but there were no stains from wine, paint or anything like that. Still I felt embarrassed and stupidly agreed to the cost.
Nathan then asked for my credit card BEFORE doing any work. After I paid the $ 438 incl. tax he used the same cleaning machine for 30 minutes. He was out of the house in under an hour and I still wonder what the difference between steam and deep cleaning really is. When he left the furniture was still wet and only a few hours later I could really see the results. The sofa was ok but both chairs still had spots he missed.
It took me a moment to realize how much I got ripped off. I then tried to call Nathan and after many attempts I finally got a hold of him. I complained about the results and the fact that they charged me twice of what was quoted. He quickly got very personal and made completely inappropriate remarks I wont repeat here.
I can only advise anyone to stay away from this business. It’s a scam. I will also report them to the BBB.

Cleaned carpets, 2 large sofas and pillows. It was very easy to schedule, the worker was very professional and courteous and he was punctual and meticulous with their work. He made sure to let me know what he was doing, what could and could not be done.
I will definitely use this company again and will refer them to people that I know. Thank you so much for making my place look so nice.
