History

Established in 2005.

Sage’s Mobile Pet Spa got it’s start after «Sage the Groomer» worked in a regular salon. «It was terrible, watching how some of the pets were effected by the noise and the stress» Sage set her sites on a more Spa like approach to the grooming business. Something relaxing and healthy. Then in 2005 Sage designed her elite mobile grooming truck and began her quest to find the ultimate in mobile Grooming… including Filtered Water Baths!

After many years of animal involvement, Sage completed 1 year in a specialized grooming school. From there she «sowed her oats» in a regular grooming shop, only to find herself horrified by the experience. «I couldn’t put myself through any more torture, and I won’t let my clients either!» So she opened Sage’s Mobile Pet Spa… a company designed to be a relaxing spa like experience.

Sage is amazing! She has been grooming for our family for 7 years. Sage stayed with me at the hospital for 4 hrs at 1 in the morning while I had to put our loving dog to rest after months of cancer treatments. She loves every dog she encounters and is always there for the family. She helped get me the right treatment for my dog and was very supportive.

My Shepard/​Husky mix is 14 years old and has become fragile. Sage just finished giving him his summer shave and she could not have been nicer. She was gentle and caring and I would strongly recommend her to anyone. She was WONDERFUL!!!

Sage is amazing and I would highly recommend her to groom your pets. She is caring, thorough and knows what she is doing. My dog is my baby and I will never take her to a groomers again where she is caused anxiety and kept in a cage with other dogs. Her pricing is absolutely fair. She is worth every penny.

Sage has now been grooming our dog for over two years and she is truly the dog whisperer. My dog HATES to have her nails trimmed and Sage gets it done every time. She has also groomed my in laws 14 year old Golden Retriever who had serious hip problems. We recently had to put him down due to health problems and Sage went to their house to console them while the process happened. Not only does she make my dog smell amazing for at least four weeks, she also has a heart of gold and genuinely cares about the animals she grooms!!! Her schedule is super flexible, she’s fast, efficient, and is kind of my hero!!! If I could give ten stars I would, thanks for taking care of our other baby Sage!!!

Sage is the most amazing pet groomer we have ever had. My dogs (Briard and Soft-​coated Wheaten) love her so much that they whimper to get into her van when they are waiting their turn! If that’s not love, I don’t know what is! It is obvious that Sage cares a lot about the animals she grooms and she gives them tons of tlc. My daughter ADORES Sage and waits eagerly for her arrival as well. She loves watching her puppy, the «super-​soaker,» get a bath! Sage does an absolutely wonderful job on my sweet dogs and they always come out looking beautiful and smelling soooo good! Sage is not just an outstanding groomer, but a very kind and caring person. I’m so glad we found her!
Also, we have found her pricing to be reasonable considering the high level of service and quality of her products. We believe you get what you pay for with Sage.

I recently moved to Calabasas from Sherman Oaks. I had a very reputable mobile groomer that came to my house from Brentwood and she charged me for both of my dogs $ 100.00. I have a Yorki Poo and a Lab (that doesnt need a haircut) The groomer did everything from hot oil treatments, nail trimming, ears, anal glands etc. I called Sage’s Mobile Pet Grooming and she tells me that each of my dogs would be $ 105.00!!! How do you charge the same for a dog that requires a haircut and one that doesnt… her reply was «thats how I charge»! Who does she thinks she is??? And then she has to add further insult by saying «I am not a discount groomer»…what she should say is «I am a rip off and I can do that because I’m in Calabasas» Lots of luck to you!!!

Sage is very gentle and Chumba, my blue merle Aussie comes out happy and clean as can be with trimmed, smooth nails. I love that Sage can come to our home, since we are full time worker-​bees. I would recommend her to anyone!

We have a 1 ½ year old Havanese with a temper when it comes to grooming… took her to The Barkley last year thinking they could handle it… they called an hour later to have me pick up my 10 pound half shaven puppy. Sage is a life saver and does a fantastic job — every time! The convenience of having her come to us is worth the little extra we pay.

One morning of a long time needed vacation this April 2012, both my dogs got skunked. It was 5 o’clock am when I called Sage (we were leaving for vacation that morning at 9), waking her up from a well deserved sleep, pleading for help to get my boys de-​skunked.
Less then one hour later both my boys was inside Sage’s spa and getting their de-​skunk-​bath. Thank heaven for the mobile spa of Sage. I could leave two clean-​nice smelling boys with the dog sitter. That it is even possible to get the stink off is amazing, I am sure anyone who’s been «skunked» can agree with me it’s one of the most sickening smells.
My dogs love Sage, she is a 100% dog person and animal lover and I would suggest her to anybody in need of bath and grooming… that is, anyone’s DOG in need of bath and grooming.(-:

One would believe that someone who specializes in grooming would understand how to trim a particular breed. Sage Mobile Pet Spa does not. Last night I picked up a dog that I have been contracted to show and put into coat. I was absolutely horrified at the fact that the dog was so poorly trimmed. I understand that pet groomers don’t understand lines and function of coat and certainly have no where near the experience I do. But for my client to be charged almost 400 dollars and to have two Newfoundlands that are unevenly trimmed and have coat cut off in places that you would never trim, I was kind of in shock. When the owner was contacted about the service she provided and was extended a helping hand in how to trim a Newfoundland correctly, she became irritate and hung up the phone. I live in the SF Bay Area and was more than willing to take time out of my day and spend my own money to show this individual a few tips in trimming. Furthering education is optimum in any type of service business. Apparently this individual will only be an overpriced pet groomer for the rest of her career.

Sage has come twice now, once for my Pom and once for my long-​haired shepherd and BOTH of my puppies (10 and 9 months respectively) have ADORED her.
I found Sage to be a warm and caring person as well as knowledgeable about dogs and grooming. I wanted the Pom to be groomed according to breed standards (this wont matter to everyone but to some of us it’s really important) and Sage knew what to do.
Her van is impressive, clean and stocked with every little thing your dog could want or need for her/​his pampering session. As the first reviewer said, her prices are reasonable and she comes to you. The whole treatment for each of my girls took about an hour. I wish there were scratch n’sniff option on Unilocal because they both smell SO good.
I hope other harried dog owners discover Sage, I really don’t think you can go wrong with her.

Sage is awesome. As the name implies it is a mobile pet spa so she comes out to see you. She truly loves Dogs and takes care of ours as if it is her own. Prices are reasonable and our dog comes out looking top top each and every time.
The van she comes in has everything imaginable and is perfect for apartments because you do not need water hookups.
I cannot recommend her enough!!!
