AAA Top Shop Award for the past two years, and out of all the AAA approved dealerships and repair facilities, we are one of 32 in New York State to receive this award and the ONLY one in the Tri County area to EVER receive it!

History

Established in 1992.

Service Plus Automotive opened in a 2 bay service facility in Black River on July 1, 1992. Service Plus Automotive moved its repair and maintenance buisness to the current location of 27 721 Route 283, Calcium, NY (right outside of the Fort Drum Military Base) on August 1, 2001. The business had grown to support and employe 7 families.

We are a family business with strong ties you the local community who have supported the repair business for over 20 years.

Always a great experience when I go there. My go to choice when it comes to auto service. Great customer service and friendly staff. I would highly recommend to anyone that needs work done on a vehicle because they do an amazing job and in a timely manner.

The people are nice, I’ll give them that, but I won’t be back. They are very simply overpriced. $ 70 for an oil change and tire rotation (without the upgrade in oil it would have been $ 50) and they came out after changing my oil saying I need to replace the catalytic converter, change the spark plugs and service the fuel induction. Well over $ 500 of work and my car is less than 3 years old with only 32,000 miles on it. You definitely do not ever need to replace spark plugs on a vehicle with only 32,000 miles on it. Any place that comes out from a simple oil change trying to tell me my car suddenly needs over $ 500 in maintenance is not a very trustworthy place, in my opinion. I won’t be back.
I want to update to add that since receiving a very professional email from the owner that I do feel better about my experience there. I still prefer not to come out of an oil change and hear such a large number thrown at me for maintenance, but I can see now that they were just recommending what is usually typical maintenance. I do still feel the oil change was rather expensive, but otherwise the people are certainly very nice.

Great shop for everyone up in the northern New York Ft. Drum area. Staff cares, wants to ensure you are satisfied, and goes the extra mile to find what might go wrong by checking the entire vehicle. Come and bring your vehicle over to Service Plus. Their name says what they do.

The folks here are genuinely kind, trustworthy, informative, and helpful. I have never been to an auto service place as helpful as they are here. Everyone was very kind. After the diagnostic there was a million things wrong with the car. But they were patient enough to explain what each and every part was supposed to do and what it was doing wrong. Plus it was super cheap.

Have you ever had a car service place just HAND YOU MONEY$$!!! Well this place did!!! Granted it’s not in cash but in coupons but still it was $ 55 worth of coupons!
I made my appoint for a car oil change where my old place simply just does it for me based on the car owner’s manual but this place asked me if I wanted synthetic or a synthetic blend.. . Ummmm.. . My suave response was «Please do whatever it calls for in the manual» swiftly masking that I did not know a thing about cars but it probably did show and I will probably get hit with the more expensive bill.
To my surprise I was not. I only needed the cheaper synthetic blend (note to self to commit this to memory) and I was honestly told so. An honest mechanic!!! This is a rare find indeed!
Upon check out (tip — Unilocal check ins will give you $ 25 off your bill), I was presented with a $ 5 coupon for my next visit for me, a $ 25 coupon for a referred friend and another $ 25 for my account based on said referred friend. An honest mechanic that hands out discounts like candy!!! I almost fainted on the spot :-)
