Business Owner

My accounting career began upon graduating in 1991 from Black River Vo-​Tech, Pocahontas, AR. Shortly after, I obtained a part-​time secretarial position at Century 21 Archer Realty, got licensed in real estate, but decided I wanted to continue my chosen career path in accounting. I then joined CV Tax Service, Charles W. Voigts, CPA, in September 1992 as a bookkeeper. While there, I became certified in income tax preparations and was promoted to office manager in 1994. I left the company in 1997 to become a stay-​at– home wife and mother. A few years later, my husband, then a lineman, suffered a heat stroke and was forced to change occupations. We moved to GA in 2002 where I attended truck driving school, obtained my commercial driver’s license (CDL) and began driving as team owner-​operators. Although we enjoyed seeing new places, I missed my original career choice. In short, I got off the road in 2003, began doing taxes again in 2004, and opened my own business, E-​TAX, in 2011.
