Splish Splash

I hate water parks and theme parks but I really like this one because it’s not as extreme as most water parks and its only 10 to 15 minutes from my house so I usually go at least once a year. I definitely recommend people to check this out even if you don’t enjoy water parks. The only con about this place is its one of the only water parks on Long Island so it’s very crowded especially on a weekend in July so if you want to go, do it when it’s drizzly or overcast cause that’s when people usually aren’t there, but I would definitely recommend going anytime for the Experience.

Each year, the school I work at has an annual trip for their senior class to this Long Island water park. And this being my second experience here, I’d say it lived up to my expectations. Well, when you go to a water park in mid/​late June, you’re setting yourself up for success (did ya think I was gonna say failure?). In the early season, Splish Splash is relatively empty and some may not even know that the park was opened today. You do run the risk of a colder afternoon (today was a decent balance of warm and windy weather), but you’ll barely wait on any lines, which is what was the situation for our group today. The rides at Splish Splash range from your typical lazy river, to a few short slides (Shotgun Falls and Barrier Reef), to adrenaline-​filled two-​person tube rides (Alien Invasion, my personal favorite), all the way up to Cliff Diver (the slide you can see from the LIE on your way to and from Riverhead). Each ride has its own personality in what tube you sit in or how many people can accompany (and scream with) you on your way down. Some aren’t the greatest (Hollywood Stunt Rider is a bit anticlimactic), but there is enough variety for everyone to enjoy. Food choices vary all over the park with plenty of fried favorites along with healthier options. Our school had a group plan which consisted of a choice between hot dog, hamburger, and salad. Most of my coworkers chose the burger, but to their chagrin, regretted it as it apparently didn’t have much flavor. For me though, I went with the hot dog which was grilled to perfection. Food is probably not the reason you should be spending a day at Splish Splash as the reason is to have a fun-​filled day in the water, and overall for our group, on this early Spring/​Summer day, it was a success.

Finally got to visit Splish-​Splash and I have to say I don’t see what the hype is all about. I wasn’t really impressed. So unimpressed that I’ll end this review here.

One of my favorite places to go every summer the rides are amazing and thrilling. The kiddie area is great for kids.

The first and only time I’ve gone to Splish Splash was in late June 2013, the weekend after school ended. My family and my brother’s friend’s family went.
The souvenirs aren’t anything exciting, mostly just the standard shirts that say «Splish Splash» on them. They also have plush toys and trinkets. But hey, it’s a small water park on Long Island.
I remember that the Lazy River was the best thing there. We went around three or four times or something. The other water slides were pretty cool too (I didn’t go on the Cliffdiver though because that looked like a good way to die).
They also have cabanas there that you can rent. All in all, it was pretty good. It’s been two and a half years since I’ve last gone there, and I’d love to return next summer.

Great water park for LI. I buy a season pass here every year living on the north fork. You have to come here either early in the year or towards the end because this place gets PACKED. Prices are high but in par with every other amusement parks. If you plan on coming more than once get the season pass it pays for itself.
The park is always clean with amble shade for hot days. Food is okay you can’t bring anything in but you can return after leaving the park. There are a few good places to eat near here that are cheaper and better than for SS offers

Based on the reviews here and on tripadvisor, this place seems to be a hit or miss. I think it solely depends on if there are crowds on the day you visit. We went on ⁸⁄₂₅ and it was great! The weather was in the low 80s and it was a Tuesday so that contributed to the smaller crowds. I was able to get on almost all the rides (my young kids weren’t able to get on some so we missed bootlegger’s run and alien invasion) and the longest time I stood on was approximately 20 mins.
The park was clean and the lifeguards seemed to pay attention to safety. I will say that most of the park’s employees are young adults. What they never really seemed to care about were the kids who ran up the lines to cut. (Where are their parents?!)

I been here a couple of times with the family and always had a great time. Make sure to get here early since it does get crowded and if you buy your tickets online (at least 3 days in advance) you get a discount. Once you are there they scan your ticket and its really fast to enter.
I find the locker a bit expensive $ 22 for a large one but you get to keep your personal stuff safe so that’s important.
Yes the lines for the rides can be long but this is an amusement park so what do you expect. One of my favorite rides is the lazy river since its so much fun and everyone can do it.

Good water rides but unfortunately you will likely not be able to enjoy them, certainly not without spending a small fortune. Like almost every other halfway decent public venue around NYC in summer it is crowded immediately when it opens, then massively, unacceptably crowded within 30 minutes later. If you enjoy standing 60 – 120 minutes in blazing sun for a 30 second ride, and riding at most four or five rides all day, you will have a great time here on the regular ticket price. Since that doesn’t work for me, I sprang big time for the $ 50/​pp premium ride-​time-​reservation gadgets (that is on TOP of the regular ticket price) in order for me and my family to be able to ride most of the popular rides within an eight hour day, and not get sun poisoning standing in line.
Without spending what amounted to almost $ 100 /​pp, my family would have gone on a maximum of four rides and waited in line for the vast majority of the day. Even with the premium passes we still spent significant time on lines, and had to wait 30 – 60 minutes each time for our reservation times to ride the popular (best) eight or so rides one time each. In between rides we ate overpriced and unhealthy amusement park food, and went to a few of the lesser attractions like the kiddie slide with my young daughter, where we waited on lines of 15 – 30 minutes even there.
Think about it — you are mostly paying for the privilege of standing on lines near water rides rather than riding them.
Yes, as other reviewers noted, we also ran into the type of people who have their kid cut you in line for ice cream and then lie about it while loudly acting like you offended them and their entire family, and all of their ancestors. If you are a NY’er you know the type. They are in every amusement park in the NY area, just like rats are in every subway station at night. This type of nonsense will happen to you at least once a day. Just accept it — it’s all these people have in their miserable lives.
My advice: go to this park on the third Wednesday in February to avoid the crowds. Or be very wealthy so you don’t care about how much everything costs.

Now I may be biased in my opinion coming as someone who’s been to a good share of water parks. But I feel like I just wasn’t satisfied with my experience here very much, if at all. I came here on a Saturday in mid-​August so I anticipated that it would be pretty crowded, but I was not prepared for what I experienced.
We bought tickets online which made the whole entering the park process quick and efficient (just pull up the email on your phone and they have a machine to scan the barcode!) The worker at the gate was also friendly but that was it as far as nice gestures I received here from employees.
As for the rides, the lines were chaotic and almost not worth waiting for. The line for the lazy river took over 40 minutes alone. The line for the food stand was even worse. There was almost no order, people sitting along the back railing of the line area were apparently also in line. I felt almost disrespected by the worker who took my order, and I was ripped off being told that I could order cheeseburgers without the combo, but turns out its the exact same price as it would be WITH the combo fries. Shouldn’t a customer have been told this?
Basically if you have no other choice, it isn’t the worst water park in the world. The rides were okay and the kids were satisfied with the kiddy area. But after the service I experienced at the food stand, I’d recommend considering exploring other options.

I had a great time at splish splash today. This place is pretty cool the entrance in moderately priced when you compare it to the other water parks and being that it’s only a little over an hour from Brooklyn and Queens it’s a good place to visit this summer. The only two things that I didn’t like was the cost of the locker rentals. $ 14 for small $ 18 for Med and $ 20 for large. Personally that’s way too much. The other is that it closes at 7pm. Other than that I can’t complain. Some things were a little over priced but aren’t they all. So if your looking to dip your body in a wave pool or swoop down a water slide stop by before the end of the summer I doubt that you will regret it.

After years of nagging I was force to come here. Now the review.
Parking is very far from park.
The place is very ghetto and pack of people. (like the other reviewer it feels like in Coney Island) Crowd not what I expected in this part of Long Island.
The price of admission and expense is moderate.
Good luck in finding a locker. I had to get 3 small locker to keep our stuff.
The lines on most rides range from 30 to 1hr 30, totally not acceptable. But we pay $$$ for the H2go to cut on line, lucky we do because being arrive there at 3pm we still experience most rides. we wanted.
The food courts are ridiculous long, I rather not eat. My friend was on line for 1 and half hour.
Overall I would recommend for the experience and our group did enjoy the day there.

Went yesterday had so much fun ! Went on about 6 slides within 6 ½ hrs there. Each line was about 30 mins to an hr wait. Went on the lazy river. I don’t know why when it cost so much to get into the park why parking and lockers cost so much money. Def a fun park and fun rides !

Large water park on the east of of Long Island, pretty much only water slides. Not much for the little kids or the big kids.
Just lots of teens waiting in hour-​long lines for a 30 second water slide.
Not really worth the price

This park used to be such a fun place to come during summer vacation, but after a trip today, I don’t think I will be coming back.
Living on Long Island, I’ve been to Splish Splash a bunch. Not the season pass «look at me go to the waterpark every other day» sort of customer, but semi-​frequently. It was a treat as a kid and I can’t tell if it really was a treat because it was better then, or if I just thought it was better than it actually was.
My boyfriend and I decided to visit the park today, a hot Sunday (mistake), because he had never been. I raved because of how much I loved it in the past. Needless to say, since the implementation of this «H2Go Pass» system, unless you’re willing to shelf out about $ 40 – 60 per person to cut the line, you’re not going to get much riding done. Unfortunately for me, I’m not a sucker. So we did not purchase the designer orange Rolexes, and we paid for it in calloused feet and sunburn.
We arrived shortly after the park opened (about 10:30) and the parking and lines to get on were generally short. We got into the park and eventually got a pricey locker to hold our junk. I do like the new passcode system, which eliminates the annoyance of those old keys. We hopped on the short line for the Lazy River once we got there to get us started. It’s a favorite because of its ease, but it was terribly crowded, even with no line. Moronic families stopped their tubes and blocked others from passing as they regrouped (why do you NEED seven children?), and it became annoying as opposed to relaxed. It was a good way to keep cool, though and start the day.
All of a sudden, the floodgates of Hell opened, and masses of trashy families with no respect or manners (we also counted over six trampstamps) scurried. I go to college in NYC, and I thought I’d been transported there looking at the crowds of people. One thing that is a serious issue, Splish Splash overfills the park. Today, it was too crowded and there needed to be a limit. They must have violated capacity in areas, I could almost guarantee it. The problem is, Splish Splash doesn’t care because all they hear is cha-​ching. And these trashy groups of people will keep flocking and blowing their money. So if you’re genuinely disgusted with the park, don’t go. Don’t give them your money.
The lines were very long and it was too hot. There should be more sprinklers and sprayers that are near the long lines. That would be refreshing.
We were there for five hours and only rode five rides. Not super efficient, but not as bad as other experiences I’ve read on here.
We ate on their food deck and I actually enjoyed the food. It wasn’t as expensive as I anticipated and it tasted good actually. But I also have low standards when it comes to amusement park food…
Lastly, to that heinous family who tried to cut us on the long line for Hollywood Stuntrider: I hope you got gnarly whiplash. I watched you use your son to cut in front of a couple with two young girls who had been waiting behind us, and then when your daughter decided to run in front of us up the stairs and invite you go in front of us, who literally had been standing in front of you the entire sweaty, 2-​hour wait, and you don’t seem to see what’s wrong with that, don’t be surprised when I call you out on it. «My daughter was in front of you,» you say? Well that’s the biggest pile of dog shit I’ve ever heard and thanks for refusing the argument by letting us go. Such honest, classy people.
It was only fun because my boyfriend and I got to spend the together but we could do that anywhere. Skip the park and just go to the beach next time. Unless you have a new trampstamp to show off or feel like bumping into strangers and getting aggressive with them even when it’s your fault, it isn’t worth it.

Long lines, overpriced, very crowded! Just packed and unsafe and the workers «all kids» had no control whatsoever! Especially in the kiddie zone. Rides had wait times of 2 hours or more. The parking was 15.00 the admission for adults was 42.90, for those under 48 inches it was 31.90. If the H202go pass was purchased for 45.00 additional dollars the wait time for rides was like 1 to 1.5 hours. No purpose in purchasing an express pass if you still have to wait over 1 hour. Left there after one hour and had a better times spending my coins at tangers! Never going to splish splash again.

Its been close to 20 years since ive been here. I decided to take my daughter for the first time and boy have things changed. The place is still fun, clean, great staff. However, 80% of the people that go there are GHETTO. I may as well of taken them to Coney Island. If the hood doesnt bother you then go ahead. As for me time to find a new place

We came here a few weeks ago.
The water is always freezing, the Churros are good, Johnny Rockets is the spot to eat, Funnel cakes are a must and the Lazy River is the first ride you go on.
Come here early as the locals from Long Island tend to get here around 12 noon. Personally, if you are more than a group of 3 and some of you don’t wanna go on crazy rides a cabana is the way to go.
PEOPLE… UNDERWEAR IS NOT A BATHING SUIT. BRO I CAN SEE YOUR BEANS AND FRANK… AND ITS NOTHING TO BE PROUD OF.
If you forgot your suit at home (bc why would you not bring a bathing suit to a water park…) they sell them in front.
Also GUYS… PLEASE STOP WEARING SOCKS WITH YOUR SANDELS IN THE WATER. REALLY? ITS NOT ONLY DISGUSTING BUT REALLY GHETTO…
Ladies… I don’t wanna hate but you are not at South Beach in Miami… dress appropriately there are children around and KNOW YOUR SIZE. I know you’ve had that suit since you were 16 but you butt is 57 now so wear something less revealing pleaseeeee…
Other than that, an awesome time every time.

CONFESSION: I’m a person who was born and raised in New York and had never been to Splish Splash, –yes I know.
I decided that I’m not going to be one of those people who never goes here because we are all damn bikini conscious. Slap in a one piece and lets go!
Okay here are some tips to help you, seriously I’m saving you the headache of all this crap because you’re going to be spending your time trying to find your way around here: Might as well save your energy.
TIPS:
–Buy all your tickets online (including your parking) Reason being that those lines do not go down quickly, we got stuck on a line just to get in, it’s not fun.
–Purchase the H2O GO passes ($ 35) if you can afford it on top of the $ 41.00 passes, do it. They are orange watches that you wear to not wait on line for the rides, which will save you a lot more time to have fun. Especially if you have really impatient little ones, you are helping everyone. I did it later there because I personally hate waiting. Reason being, some of the lines are seriously extensive, i.e. three hours for Alien Invasion. Never again.
–If you think you need the large $ 18.00 locker for your things, get the medium. The large lockers that are opened with bracelets are large enough for six filled tote bags, or two heavily packed backpacks.
–If you are travelling with kids, get their life jackets first (not mandatory, or at least not enforced). Maybe it’s more the children who don’t know how to swim or are smaller than 48′ inches. You have them hold your ID or hold $ 40.00.
–If you are with children, don’t announce loudly to them that you can pee in the water. It’s gross to think that I got a mouth full of piss chlorine on the Mammoth River earlier.
— Wear water shoes, or those ugly Velcro strapped sandals that your mom used to wear when you went camping as a kid. –you know the ones I mean. Reason being, we found so many random flip flops abandoned randomly at the park. Some rides will ask you to take off your flips flops because they will fly off. Like Lazy River, Alien Invasion, that huge slide (name escapes me right now)
NOTE **there are cubbies all over the place, but it’s really not necessary to use. We never needed a towel, the kids after the first ride didn’t complain about the water in their faces, and by the time we got on another ride, because it was so hot, we were partially dry already. **
–Buy waterproof pouch online to keep your stuff inside and safe prior to going there. In the shop they at the park is $ 20.00, so you can keep you phone and money dry. They usually large enough keep your phone, cash and credit cards in.
–The Ice Cream Shop by the entrance of the park fills your cone more than the other ones around the park. I dunno why.
–The bathrooms near the Faux Beach, Past Mammoth River, away from the entrance of the park are the cleanest.
–Eat at Monster Burgers or Johnny Rockets, every where else is not worth the money. Reason being it’s the only two places here where their main proteins are not frozen. if your going to pay Amusement Park prices, might as well get quality.
–Have lunch around 11am or 1pm when there is little to no line. Reason being the park opens at 10:00am and many people don’t want to look like a fat ass going on one or two rides and then heading to lunch.
–Go on all the crazy rides early. Reason being It gets all the endorphins and blood flowing. Endorphins are produced as a response to certain stimuli, especially fear. They originate in various parts of your body like the pituitary gland, your spinal cord and throughout other parts of your brain and nervous system. They interact mainly with receptors in cells found in the brain responsible for blocking pain and controlling emotion. Getting you really really pumped for the day, which I feel makes you less tired.

–Go on all the water rides first and then play the arcade and carnival games later. Reason being is all the water rides start to close out around 8pm from what I saw. Giving you three hours to go and walk around, unwind, play games, etc.
–Ladies, wear a one piece.
Reason being me personally, if I’m having fun, I don’t want to worry about if my bikini strap us going to come undone down Dinosaur River/​Run. During my time here we saw six different people’s bathing suit come undone or completely off. One guys trunks came off during the Wave Pool.
Bottom line, I’m trying to give you the best experience. Oh and there are severe wedgie alerts on some of these rides. I mean I guess if your Ass is going to eat your bikini bottom you won’t lose it, but it’s not cute.
So I believe I covered all the bases for you, and I hope you enjoy Splish Splash as much as I did. I went from open to close, I played and ate everything. Experienced everything, and we had a good time. So good, everyone passed out in the car, adults included.

Splish Splash is always an awesome way to spend a summer day on Long Island. As a Great Necker, I go at least once a year. GA is about $ 42. A season’s pass is about $ 72. One locker rental is $ 13. Parking is $ 14. So go early so you get your money’s worth. If you’re wondering about weather, go as long as it’s at least in the 70s. I went today and it was 73 degrees. It was perfect! Sure, it was chilly after you get wet in the rides, but you’re fine immediately afterwards. Remember, the cooler it is, the shorter the lines are.
As for food, you can’t bring anything inside, but don’t fret — the food is actually good! I usually get the pizza or chicken nuggets. And don’t forget about the dippin’ dots, aka the best part of going to Splish Splash!
My favorite rides: the Cliff Diver (the highest one — do it only if you LOVE heights and you want to risk getting a heart attack), Alien Invasion, Giant Twister, Dinosaur Falls, Lazy River to do some relaxing, and Bootlegger’s Run, the new roller coaster.
My one complaint is that my friend and I got stuck on Dragon’s Den today, as you are supposed to, but the girl working the ride DIDN’T TELL US ABOUT IT IN ADVANCE! We were absolutely horrified. That wasn’t cool.
Don’t forget to check a nearby Dunkin’ Donuts or PC Richard & Son for huge discounts on tickets.
