Tyee Farms is home to the Tyee Grocery Store, a general store serving the needs of the local community.
History
Established in 2015.
After a year of interior renovations, we’re open and delighted to be serving the south end community. Many of you know the history of the Tyee Store, from the Bartlett’s to the Simmons, the Tyee Store has been a fixture on the southeast end of Camano Island for many years. Sadly, after Helen Simmons passing in 2012, her remaining family decided to close the store and sell the property — but happily, the Deanne Family purchased the store and surrounding 9 acres, including the studio of local artist Jack Gunter, in 2014. Shortly after the purchase, under the name of Tyee Farms, LLC, the Deanne’s began work on renovating the Tyee Store and the grounds. By June of 2015 the opening preparations began and the Tyee Store had an introductory «soft open» on July 3rd. With no advertisement and only a small «We’re Mostly Open» sign in the window, word spread rapidly about the store and resulted in a very successful inaugural weekend.
