Baymont Inn & Suites

I prepaid the hotel. When I arrived they would not let me check on unless I put a $ 200 deposit on my credit. They said they would release the hold in the morning, when I checked out. They did not. They tied up the $ 200 for days. Most hotels require only $ 25 or so. The hotel is not a 2.5 star hotel. The room was dusty. I sneezed almost all night. The desk chair was ripped. The bed was old/​cheap. The furniture was old and faded and appeared dirtyThe night desk staff was rude. I come thru here only about twice a year, but I will never stay here again.

This isn’t a place for prudes that are used to 5 star hotels. This place was just what we needed, a cheap clean place to sleep, shower and the free breakfast was an added bonus! Great and made to order! You can tell that the current owners bought this place from an old chain, yes the wall paper was peeling a tad, and the holes in the walls from previous hardware weren’t covered but I didn’t see bugs and no gross smell. Would definitely stay here again. Big room with FRIDGE AND MICROWAVE!!!

**BE WARNED — THERE ARE SEVERAL LISTINGS FOR THE SAME HOTEL. This hotel was also called Belmont Suites, and some other variations. But they all have the same address. We were informed by the other hotels that this is a trucker motel for hookers.**
This place deserves negative stars. You can tell they are trying to put a bandaid on this place, but it is beyond repair. It needs to be completely over hauled.
First, the staff were inattentive and not friendly at all.
Second, the elevator was rickety and janky. It is unsafe to operate. It closed on my mom as she was getting in, right after it opened.
Next, there is a foul stench just looming through out the entire place. We used the stairs to get to our third floor room, each level had a worser and stronger stench. Smelt like sweaty ass, moldy toilet and chemicals. Once we got to the third floor, some rooms were being renovated. There were tools and paint buckets all over the place.
When we got to our room, there were no bed covers, just sheets. And the sheets appeared to have not been washed in a while. There were some kind off oily stains on them. You could see water damage on the ceiling.
There were crumbs on the floor, ash marks and ashes all over the room.
Needless to say we left immediately, we had booked two rooms for two nights.
All the front desk could do was cancel the second room and charge is for one room for one night.
Pay the extra $ 30 and go to the Marriot.

Dirty carpet, filthy bathroom, no FREE WIFI, as stated. Glad I only stayed one night. If you can find somewhere else in Camarillo, then do so. There are many hotels that are cheaper and CLEAN. I’ll check Unilocal next time I need to book a room there. Based on the price, it was very expensive for such a low quality room.

Stay clear of this pig-​pen!!! They say they’re changing their name to: Camarillo Executive Suites and Inn — don’t fall for it!!! The lobby: pig-​sty; the first room they gave us was absolutely filthy — hair on sheets, broken AC vent, fluids on covers, bath-​tub dirty!!! We requested to be moved to another room — SAME!!!
We cancelled our room (they still charged Expedia for 3 hours; the guy at the front desk was a real jerk too, only cared about money and ZERO customer service!)
We got the heck out of their quick and went to another hotel down the road WAY better than this sh*t hole!!!

I was skeptical to stay here because of the poor Unilocal reviews, but it was only one night so I figured, why not? Hotel is a little outdated as some have said, they have box TVs and the air conditioner was so loud that you couldn’t even hear yourself think. But overall the room was clean, big, and comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi were handicap accessible, which I thought was really neat! The hotel is right next to the freeway, however, I didn’t hear the cars from my room which was nice. Late check out time of 12:00 is great. Complimentary breakfast was made up of toast, muffins, cereal, coffee, OJ, fresh fruit, and scrambled eggs, hash browns, and sausage cooked to order. I booked with
and paid $ 69/​night, but they do have a $ 20 pet fee per night. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the Baymont Inn and Suites, and would stay here again if I come back to Camarillo.

Walk into the room and it wasn’t even clean the beds were not made the mattress was dirty and only one coffee cup for the room. Had to have everyone sleep in one room waste of a room because. I booked 2 rooms and when I went to use the bathroom in my room it was full of ants mind you we were on the 2^nd floor. My son said it best «this hotel reminded him of the set of a horror movie» the guys who worked in front were nice and did their best but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and will be calling the site I booked it from to complain as well

This was an outdated, dirty, unkempt and unmanaged facility. There was ongoing construction which is a necessary inconvenience, but should not be at the expense of our comfort or safety. The overflowing garbage, unaddressed messes, unsavory and unruly clientele, and the stains, smells, permeating smoke coming from other rooms and public areas all led to an unsafe, unhealthful and unpleasant environment.
We could not have been more disappointed. My husband and I booked 6 nights here through
for a training seminar and arrived on Monday afternoon. The lobby was filled with furniture stacked up on itself and piles of construction materials and rolls of carpeting. From the poor impression we received and the appearance of the rough looking people loitering around the exterior of the hotel and in the parking lot, we had serious concerns for our safety and the security of our vehicle, belongings, and the motorcycles that we had to leave strapped onto the trailer. We were told that there was no security on site.
When we arrived at our room it was humid and bad smelling, so we attempted to open the old-​fashioned cobweb-​laden double hung window and it promptly fell off the track and rerolled crookedly leaving a gap, and the sill was coated with dust and grime. We requested another room and the second was just as poor and dirty. The carpet was stained, the windows had spilled gook and spiderwebs, the linens were thin, and the furnishings sparse and threadbare. Two of the lamps didn’t work, and on inspection one of the bulbs was missing. We would have moved, but this was prepaid through
(who were unwilling to intervene), and this was a busy weekend for travelers so all other nearby hotels were booked. We stuck it out and wished we had not been in a position to have to.
The food offered from the kitchen for hot continental breakfast (eggs, hashbrowns, sausage) was actually quite satisfactory, however the state of the dining area daily was a mess, food spilled everywhere, garbage on the floor, and over-​flowing trashcans, there was no sign of an attendant to keep it under control. The server in the kitchen was cheerful in spite of being berated publicly and within our earshot by a manager, who repeatedly called him obnoxious.
Construction during our stay included the hallway and lobby carpeting being ripped out and left bare with glue and tack strips exposed. The elevator wallpaper was torn and missing. The old construction materials were piled in the dining area, on the «patio», and in the parking lot. The parking lot, besides the construction debris, was littered with cans, bottles, cigarette butts and spilled food and drink stains, articles of disposed clothing, tree debris and unkempt landscaping.
The outdoor «patio» was adjacent to the dining area and was frequented by smokers who seemed to be always out there, the thick cigarette smoke was both inside and outside the door. The ashtrays were full to overflowing.
Each return at the end of the day was an adventure to find what manner we would find our room. On check-​in we had only 2 tired towels. The second day the 2 towels were accompanied by a single washcloth, the third day the maid service skipped our room altogether, except for having removed all of the towels, leaving everything else untouched. On the days that the room was «cleaned», only the bed and the coffee pot were freshened, the dirty coffee cups were left behind, chairs that were pulled out were not pushed back, and sometimes the lights were out, sometimes left on, and the a/​c sometimes on, sometimes left off.
The shower dripped when turned off, the used soap was only removed and replaced once, so our collection of squares was left for us to chip off or add to. The coffee cups were sometimes replaced with plastic wrapped «new» cups, sometimes just an unwrapped cup was left, leaving us to wonder if the supplies were just reused. We did know that there were not enough hand towels and washcloths to supply to every room since we never had both on any given day.
This was such an uncomfortable, unsatisfactory experience that it even blemished my expectation of the fine city of Camarillo. We’ve stayed in Baymont Inns before with good experience, but from this experience will not go to another one unless we hear otherwise what might have been the problem this particular week, and what they intend to do to convince us otherwise that we will not be as disappointed. I give a minus one rating (less than zero) for the 6 night stay, but a plus one rating for the only employees that gave a damn, the cooks at the breakfast window.

If I could give no stars I would. Black mold in the shower, dry rot, and sink leaks on the floor, lights that did not work, no cover on the air conditioner. We were given ONE bath TOWEL for the three of us. Not even a wash cloth! When I asked for more towels I was told they did not have anymore and that we would have to share! Seriously? They were replacing carpets and they stored them old and new in the eating area! Not only did this cut down on the amount of tables and chairs being offered, it is a HEALTH HAZARD!
The icing on the cake is when I went to complain the employee tells me, «You are a loser. A striaght up loser.»

We stayed 4 nights from ⁵⁄₂₈ to ⁶⁄₁ 2015. We had two rooms, one with a King Bed and one 2 Queen beds. The good first: the staff is wonderful. All are so friendly and it is the best breakfast with a cook making sausage, eggs and hash browns to order. Coffee is good, and some cereals and pastrys and muffins. No waffles, but all was good
The bad: the carpets in the rooms are so bad, you cannot go barefoot! It is gross! They are in the process of replacing the stained, filthy hallway and lobby carpets! But have no plans to replace any rooms! I cannot recommend it for this reason. Sad, the rooms are spacious, with fridge and microwaves, table and desk. Beds are a little soft, but tolerable. Carpet is intolerable!

I was so concerned about staying there and was I ever pleasantly surprised starting with Omar and Sudshun at the front desk. They made us feel like family and what a rate. Yes, it’s not the FOUR SEASONS, but under $ 70.00 for full breakfast, king or queen size beds, sofa and even Flat Screen TV’s. And I almost forget, early evening hor d ouerves. WOW
If you can overlook the shabby décor, you will get the best deal in the County. And I especially want to thank Mr. Sudshun for remembering our names each time I went to the front desk.

Me and my girlfriend booked this hotel with Expedia. Looking at the pics we assumed this would be a nice decent hotel to stay at for a few days. We only made it one night, literally one night! We checked in around 12 midnight, was on the phone with Expedia the next morning for a refund for the following day. Luckily we succeeded in getting our money back. Why we disliked this overpriced hotel.
1. The outside is a trap. It looks like it would be a nice hotel upon arrival, but far from that.
2. We stayed in room 307. The smell made me and my girlfriend nauseous. The third floor suppose to be none smoking but it smelt like a cigarette convention.
3. The bathroom, well don’t get me started. Horrific would be the proper word for that.
4. The floors had stains EVERYWHERE!!!
5. Can’t comment on the breakfast cause we didn’t want any.
6. The staff was friendly they switched our room because of our complaints. When we got to the new room all we could hear was traffic from the highway next to the hotel.
7. The rooms still had old box tv’s, didn’t know hotels still used them. Been in the most low budget hotels and they at least had flats.
8. If you are still reading this run from this hotel and save your money.
9. Would have rated a 0 but there wasn’t an option.
10. My girlfriend said she had never been this scared in any hotel ever. She felt as if all they did was sell and use drugs there.
11. Baymont get it together!!!

Ok I agree with the other reviewers that this hotel needs updating and renovations! BUT we had to be in a hotel for a month with our two dogs and this place was reasonable and the desk help very friendly and accomodating to us and our pups! They do serve an acceptable breakfast, albeit the same powdered eggs and sausage but they do try! They have fresh baked cookies at the front desk and snacks in the afternoon :). I can overlook old carpets when they so easily work with us allowing our dogs. Lots of dogs in our wing too!
Not sure why the owners allow it to continue to run down or fail to keep the grounds maintained? I know the hotel is to capacity alot of the time! Hope they catch a clue soon and take some of these comments to heart. They do offer a service to dog owners when few other hotels do.

I don’t know what to say… from walking in with the «aroma» of weed to the dirty floors to the front desk man who illegally asked for the papers about my service dog… btw against the law of him!
Out of complete desperation we stayed there and was frightened the entire time… aside from the unprofessional staff there is the delight of that convict clientele…
I almost expected to see parole officers at check out !!!
They mention a full breakfast of eggs, sausage homemade hash browns it would be fine maybe… If I had not heard the night audit talking about seeing the rat running around
The floor was unclean at the dinning area… Just a mess of a place
The rooms windows we’re horrible dirty… Mold in the shower…
There are other in the area places…, try them out

As others have said, «you get what you pay for.» This place is 60% less than the Holiday Inn Express nearby, and about that much lower in quality.
Our first room had no towels, smelled, and the bedside lamp had no bulb and the finger switch was broken. Next room at least avoided all those issues.
Large rooms for sure, but paper thin walls. TV received 10 channels and there was no remote. Bathroom towels are threadbare. But the shower head (Kohler) was amazing.
If you don’t mind smelly hallways and old décor, and are just passing through for a quick layover, go for it. But if you are staying for more than a brief stop, try somewhere else.

Older hotel looks like they may be updating. This is needed. Give them a few months to see if they are remodeled. Breakfast is not bad.

Finally. The American Flag has been changed. But they couldn’t spring for the proper size nor a replacement for the California one.
They still suck.

I’ve stayed here twice this month so I figured it was time for a review. The saying «you get what you pay for» definitely applies to this place. Their rates are low for a reason so don’t expect first class accommodations.
With that being said I will say that I enjoyed my stays. They obviously need to improve on a lot of things, but overall, the price is worth it.
The front desk people are nice and accommodating and based on my interactions with them they were all helpful.
Things to improve:
1. Appliances. While it’s nice that all rooms have a mini fridge and microwave, both are way outdated. They work fine, but so unattractive to look at. The same applies to the tvs. They still have those boxy ones.
2. Carpet. The room I’m currently in has iron marks everywhere. The hallway carpet also looks super dirty.
3. Towels. They feel like they’re well over 5 years old. Super thin and a bit rough on the skin.
4. Beds. I had a difficult time falling asleep because the bed is not one bit soft. I kind of feel like I’m sleeping on a box spring.
5. WiFi. It kept being temperamental. I would get kicked off repeatedly and had to keep re-​entering the password.
I would recommend staying here if you’re just passing through and have low expectations.

First off, I want to start out my review by saying, you get what you pay for. At $ 97 a night you can’t expect the Ritz Carlton. Comparing the prices to other hotels at $ 150+ per night you kind of have to expect it’s not going to fabulous. It’s dated for sure and long creepy hallways but the rooms are pretty big. We got a room with 2 queen beds and theres still a lot of space to spare.
The breakfast was pretty good. They have a guy in the kitchen whipping up eggs, hashbrowns, and sausage hot off the grill. Bagels, muffins, juices, and fruit. At breakfast the man from the night before remembered us by last name and helped us get our food packed up to take back to the room with the kids.
My husband travels weekly for work and the kids and I tend to go with him. His work usually sticks to the $ 100 or less range I think for the hotels they pay for. We were in Simi Valley the week before and my husbands family lives in Oxnard so we decided to anchor the week between simi valley and Costa Mesa in Camarillo to spend time with them. We just needed a place to crash. Between the large room and the good breakfast and the super friendly staff I’d say it was definitely worth the money spent.

Two biggest dislikes:
*we stayed on the first floor and it was not great because like every 15 minutes there would be this pipe noise. it was very bad for a light sleeper as myself.
*the bed is placed so awkwardly. we had a king size bed and had to lay on our left side in order to watch the TV.
Tips:
*free breakfast consisted of: cereal, yogurt, fruit, muffins, freshly made hashbrowns, oatmeal, and juice/​coffee.
*they remodeled every floor and currently they are working on the first floor.
*free parking and wifi. closeby to the freeway and within driving distance to camarillo outlets.
*They Have recently been bought over by wyndham. You would need your key if you’re coming in late because they lock the doors.
*There is a desk, microwave, and fridge in the room.
* The window also opens if you’re staying on the first floor.
*they provide a shower cap and one facial wipe.
Its an okay place to stay for a quick overnight but I would not recommend anything more. I’ve experienced way better hotels but if you’re all out of options then stay here.
