Learning and Inspiration is Reborn

When the lights dimmed on the campus of the former Pleasant Valley School in Old Town Camarillo, no one in the community could have anticipated the creative turn of events down the road.

In 2010 the vibrant artist community of Studio Channel Islands Art Center moved into the old classrooms, filling them with life, creativity and laughter.

Ms. Adele Stuebing Walsh, who attended Pleasant Valley School as a student and later worked as a teacher at both Pleasant Valley School and Los Primeros Structured School, shares her excitement about the renaissance of the old school grounds when she says, «What a thrill to see the Pleasant Valley School site transition into an artist colony where learning and the creative process continue to blossom for the community.»
