I found out about Aceituna 3 years ago and I STILL find every excuse to go(: I actually liked the feel before the make over of the place better, but the people are still friendly and food is amazing. The only reason I don’t go more often is that I know lines are long and all my friends are tired of going to the same place all the time LOL(they always know this is my first choice — it’s within budget and delicious and walking distance from my school) I ALWAYS get the greek salad with spicy chicken schwarma. YUM just writing this review is making my mouth water. The biggest disappointment is craving Aceituna(it doesn’t compare to other mediterranean places) but it not being open :( Sad I’m moving farther away next year. :(((( But will be sure to visit often! :D

The garlic sauce makes everything fabulous — wish I knew how to make it!

Great reasonably authentic lunch spot in Kendall sq. A little pricey but that comes with the real estate. Good selection of sides most of which are pretty tasty. They do skimp a little on the portions of meat compare to the other elements in the dishes. Line is usually out the door at lunch time but moves at an incredibly fast pace.

By far my favorite Cambridge eatery! The spicy chicken shawarma is to die for! The spicy potatoes are my all time favorite! Even the simple Greek salad is so bomb! The prices are what you’d expect in uppety Cambridge! Lol totally worth every penny! The service is great! The guys always giving me free cookies(not that I had room)

I came here for lunch to look for something light and I sure found it. The food looks fresh, but the Shawarma Wrap(beef) was small, smaller then other pita wraps. I should’ve added the Fries and drink combo. The wrap had some lettuce(no tabblouleh even though they sell it), pickled turnip, and dressing. I see most of the customers dining in had the rice plate, that should’ve been a sign. The place is more so for the lunch crowd for those work in the area as there are no street parking. Tough to come back to try the rice plate.

The food is ok — the ony thing is it doesn’t worthe the price. The guy also wasn’t paying attention and I had a wrap that only has ½ of tthe chicken he normally put in a wrap.

Decent food, good atmosphere, bad service. Their side servings are too large so I wanted half sizes. The servers informed me this was not possible… even when I offered to pay full price. I explained i did not want to throw food away but they were very reluctant. When they finally agreed, they acted like they were doing me a favor(and even said«we don’t do this», no smile, no thank you). Note: the sides are not pre-packaged… they fill the container in front of you and all I needed was less than what they usually serve)

Never even had chicken schwarma in my life, was just a fluke when I saw pics on Unilocal. So, ordered 2 through DoorDash tonight. O M G!!! I could eat this every day forever. Even the little salad was super fresh with amazing dressing. Really, really good.

This is my favorite shawarma in the Boston area. I’ve shopped around in a number of neighborhoods, but Aceituna is still the only one I get cravings for. The chicken shawarma is excellent — definitely get it with the spicy potatoes and pink spicy sauce if you can. Their hummus has also spoiled me on store-bought hummus forever. As a side order, I’d recommend the mousakka, a delicious eggplant and tomato based dish that is served cold. I’ve heard they’re also opening up a new location in the Seaport area in 2016, more accessible to me, and I couldn’t be more excited.

I came here for a quick dinner with my friend on a Tuesday evening a couple of weeks back. She ordered a chicken and rice plate(cauliflower and vegetable salads for sides), while I got the lamb and beef shawarma(with spicy side dishes). It came out to a little over $ 10 for each of us, which is pretty reasonable for dinner. The food itself left a bit to be desired. The meat for both dishes was dry and cold, which meant that it didn’t mesh well with the rice(also dry and crumbly) underneath it. The spicy potato side I ordered wasn’t so much spicy as vinegary. However, my friend’s cauliflower side dish tasted quite good. For the price we paid Aceituna wasn’t bad, and it might have been a fluke that the meat was dry. However, I’m not sure I would visit again for the same food.

12÷9÷15 Asked for a falafel roll up with«everything» and got the tiniest falafel wrap I’ve ever seen with a ton of garlic sauce, no tahini, no hot sauce, and none of the salad items. The 2 little knobs of falafel were not cooked(soggy, no crisp). Total bummer! Falafel King or bust, I guess.

This place is legit. Authentic, healthy, reasonable prices, lot of choices, friendly staff, clean, centric. It has basically everything I need of a place to really enjoy a meal. I’ve been going there for the last 6 years, so imagine how consistent those guys have been over the years. I go there about twice a week, never enough, sauces are addictive!

The lack of 5 star Unilocal restaurants in Boston makes me sad. We had to settle for this 4 star. I love middle eastern/Mediterranean, but this place missed the mark. Perhaps I’m spoiled by the great eats at home(Houston), but this place was sub par to ours. I ordered the grape leaves and chicken shawarma. I’ve never had tomato in grape leaves, wasn’t a fan, and they had way too much vinegar. The sauce served with the shawarma was a mound of vinegar soaked mayo. Even the rice was vinegary. The chicken was good. My coworker got the kabob. She said the meat was good, the hummus was salty, and rice was sour. If this is 4 stars in Boston, i feel sorry for Boston. The staff was also short with my coworker for not knowing her meal would take 10 minutes and stood at the counter waiting — English is not her first language. I’m finding a lot of Boston restaurants are not very cognizant of new patrons and out of towners.

Don’t get the 4 star rating. Maybe weekdays are better… Got the beef shawarma, the meat was extremely dry and honestly pretty tasteless. The pita was also cold and bordering on stale and I didn’t care for their mixings inside the wrap either. I did try my husbands chicken and it was much better, so bumped up to 2 stars. But even that was no better than any other Greek places I’ve been to in the past, some inside mall food courts…

El shawarma de pollo picante es de lo mejor! La atención es muy buena, los precios económicos y el pan exquisito. Lo recomiendo sobre todo para llevar.

I work across the street so often we will want a change of the norm… Went over the other day & got a Chicken Shawarma plate… Its good, I mean its ok. But its nothing to really write home about. I cant eat the garlic sauce(which is delish) but Mayo based(which Im allergic to)… Salad is decent — everything is good, the spicy chicken is good, just sometimes too dry… Nothing to go crazy over, just a decent place with a steep price…
