I’ve been coming as a visitor on and off for the last two months. I have several complaints about this gym that contribute to my poor rating. First off, the men’s locker room smells like urine. There is only one stall for 500+ men which is borderline ridiculous. The equipment is ok, but other less expensive gyms do better for less. It’s superficially very pleasant, but once you dig in you will be disappointed. Joint Ventures and others share the space, which is annoying to a paying member. The construction is constant, dirty, and noisy. Often there is a line for showers.

I’ve been a member for 4 years and am currently in the process of finding a new gym. My issues are many and varied:
Equipment in general: 4 years old and falling apart. No plans on upgrading.
Treadmills: Loud with a very hard surface. No bounce whatsoever.
Bikes: Only two and crowded.
Stairs: Only one and crowded.
Desk staff: They seem mostly interested in watching TV.
Men’s lockers: Frustration at its worst. It’s a digital key which is very very easy to screw up.
Men’s locker room: Very crowed, dirty, and just a SINGLE stall. It’s disgusting.
Management: They talk the talk but fail to walk the walk.
Construction: It’s constant, annoying, and dirty.
Trainers: Some excellent, some not so excellent.
Price: $ 89 a month and IMHO not worth it. The experience you get there is on par with Planet Fitness, but 8 times the price.
Music: Same bloody tracks every single day. How Deep Is Your Love four times a day is just enough to make me insane.

They «advertise» you can work out for free until Feb. But you actually have to sign up for 6 or 12 month membership first, and then you don’t have to pay for now (month of January). A bit misleading to me. They do offer a one-​day trial visit, but if you’re like me, you won’t know if you like the place just by one visit alone — so if you need 1 – 2 week’s time (like me) to test out a new gym, you can’t do it here unless you buy the membership.
Know someone who has the membership here but isn’t staying much longer due to high price ($ 89/​month) and limited hours as mentioned by others. Only reason I looked at it was due to the location, but for the price (and bit misleading advertising) I will look elsewhere.

If you live in Watermark, you are essentially forced to join this gym if you want a work-​out space. I’ve lived here 1.5 years, and I love Watermark and hate the gym. The gym is the one reason I want to move.
The cardio machines are always broken. The tvs are always broken with terrible channels. I’ve reported this for 9 months, and they say they’re still waiting to get a technician to fix them.
The staff is incredibly rude. They have overly aggressive trainers who bump women off machines and interrupt our usage of weight machines to tell us how we’re doing it wrong.
There is no one to vocalize your concerns to.
Today, the gym was dark and locked at 6am, though it should have been open at 5:30am. I called all the numbers listed, left a few voice mails, talked to a few people who refused to address the problem or acknowledge there was one person in charge.
If I had known how bad the gym was (and expensive), I would not have moved to the Watermark.

The staff continues to be rude and unhelpful. Today, it seems there are now «front» and «back» lockers. The members previously have never been able to use the «back» lockers before, and we never knew they were there.
Signs were unclear, and Mr. A– felt it necessary to follow every veteran woman member into the locker room (really creepy to have a 22y/​o male follow you into a private locker room) and rudely and in an unclear communication pattern, tell her that she was not allowed to be there anymore. Several women members before me got into an unpleasant conversation with him.
The owners continue to hire staff who are rude and uncommunicative. I am counting down the days until my lease ends at Watermark.
But I definitely see how other gyms are opening within a few blocks and don’t see these guys as competition.

The gym might be fine — I have no experience with that. But avoid the so-​called «spa.» The massage I received here actually increased my back pain (!) and took weeks to recover from. I get frequent massages and know this is not normal. The manicurist spent so much time talking about herself and telling me her life story that the whole process took twice as long as it should have. I waited and waited for her to get set up, and the end result wasn’t even nice. The top coat bubbled, leaving me with rough, bubble-​covered nails. I hope to feel relaxed and pampered from a spa experience. You won’t find that here.

I’ve been a member for over a year and love it! I mostly do the group fitness classes. They have some really wonderful instructors (and some so-​so instructors, but it’s easy to figure out which classes are right for you) and a huge variety of types of exercise. I do a Pilates class, a great vinyasa class, an intervals class, and a weight training class. Love the wide selection!
Unlike most gyms, everything is always SUPER clean and the gym never smells bad. There’s rarely a wait for equipment.
The other members are also very nice and friendly. I never feel intimidated to go to the weight area or feel like there are creepy guys like at some other male-​dominated gyms.
Minor drawbacks:
1) the schedule caters to people who WORK in Kendall (not LIVE in Kendall). I wish the weekend hours were longer and that there were more classes before/​after work with enough time to let me shower and commute.
2) the premium club bugs me because it seems like there are great facilities that aren’t really being utilized. Bosse’s base rate isn’t cheap so it seems stingy to be holding back access to the second locker room (especially in the morning when there is a shortage of showers in one locker room and the other is totally empty!).

Great Boutique gym. I am here just for the summer and they offered me a no initiation, pay by month fee. I’m paying 75 month, which to me is worth it for a nice place, especially when you train 3 – 4 times a week. Other places I looked at in area were claustrophobic dungeons. This place is open, high ceilings and on the second floor, beautiful windows on all sides for great lighting. It also has an outdoor patio seating area. The clientele seem to be professional career type and «normal» definitely not the roided out meathead or barbie packed place. The reason it does not get five stars is there is no squat rack, just a smith machine which are not recommended for squats. As far as weights. They have dumbbells up to 85 pounds, 2 flat to incline adjustable benches, several adjustable crossover machines, and a plethora of others, along with at least 6 machines dedicated for legs. Most all machines are Cybex and in great shape, place is well cleaned and has no musty gym odor.

I have never written a review on here but this place is so great that I decided to break that streak. The people who work there are awesome– I left my watch lying around like an idiot and the maintenance staff returned it to the front desk immediately and emailed to let me know it was there after I reached out.
I pay extra monthly for the premium membership which includes a separate locker room and laundry service. I would recommend this membership to anyone who would use the gym 5+ times a week as the separate locker rooms are always spotless and I am usually one of two or three people actually using it. There is also a sauna in there as well and private shower stalls.
In terms of the actual gym, you will never have to wait for anything as it is rarely crowded (I go around 6pm during the week and 1pm during the weekends).
I don’t do classes but they look like they are pretty popular.

I arrived at Bosse City Club to be greeted by a friendly desk staff member who made sure I had what I needed. I then went into the magnificent locker room which looks like something the Ritz would have built at their finest resort. Then, I made it to the floor and found the array of equipment to be of the highest quality with ample room and space. The cleanliness was perfection itself, the attention to detail covering every comfort and need was obvious. The staff was uniformly professional and helpful.
The lighting is mostly natural, easy on the eyes, the electronics are all top notch. My workout was very good, an attentive trainer offered to help me with a few back stretches and I was grateful he did. I ran out of shampoo but the Spa provided me with some (thanks!) and the towels were big and inviting.
On my way out, I had an awesome smoothie, they are quick to deliver and the fresh fruit was awesome. I did have to go back out to the harsh cruel world but immediately thought to myself «when can I get back here?»
This is the best best, most beautiful gym/​spa I have ever had the pleasure of visiting and having lived in Dallas, where EVERYTHING is new and beautiful, I don’t please easily.
I only wish I lived closer because I know I would be there 3x a week when not traveling for business.
Next time a massage… Yes!

Excellent gym which offers many options to suit anyone. The staff is always very friendly and accomodating. Classes from spinning to barre, wide range of both cardio and weight training equipment. Very clean throughout, with above average locker rooms and showers (providing shampoo, lotion, and hair dryers).
I highly recommend personal training sessions with Michael. He is always understanding of my hectic work schedule, and makes sure that I get the utmost out of each session. I travel constantly for work, and this is the nicest gym I’ve been to across the Northeast.

First off I have lived around the country and been to many gyms. This has been cleanest and best kept gym of them all! None of the equipment is never unusable an everyone is respectful of putting things back after they are done. As for the staff I can only say they are literally top notch. They genuinely care about any concerns you have or issues that might arise. The manager Kurt is probably one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He is also a trainer and very helpful with anything you need. My own personal trainer is named Rocco his knowledge base is absolutely excellent and his methods will help you achieve your goals. This is coming from someone that has had many of them.
Pros: weights are all new, bathrooms spotless with nice amenities, location is perfect for getting in and out, right next to the T station
Cons: wish they had certain other equipment (but you can request them)

The gym has lots of large windows, which lets in plenty of natural light. All the equipments look like state of the arts, very well maintained, and the exercise machines all have a port for the ipod (those with lightning ports will need to bring their own).
When running on a treadmill, I always feel like a hamster, but the TVs are good distractions. Their locker rooms are spacious with hair dryers that aren’t from the 80s.
Their fitness class schedules looks rather impressive is offered throughout the day. Got my butt kicked by Juliet’s Body Sculpt class. The staff are all super nice and helpful!
I docked one star because I would like a bigger space/​more mats for abs and floor workouts.

I bought the Buy with me $ 99 facial-​mani-​pedi-​massage. All the staff was very friendly. I especially loved the young woman from Simmons that did my mani/​pedi. She was wonderful. Its definitely a mediocre spa thats over-​priced but the staff made me want to come back.

I’ve been a member at Bosse City Club for more than 9 months now and I’d have to agree with other reviewers — it is a Five Star Gym. Great equipment great staff. Kurt D., the manager, is very nice and accommodating and remembers just about all of the member’s names. They do a great job making you feel as though you being there, working out, is really important to them. It’s never very crowded and I rarely have to wait for equipment. I have yet to take advantage of any of the group exercise with the exception of TRX with Tara (which i highly recommend), but I can’t comment on the others. It’s a convenient location to my office in Kendall Sq. which is a bonus but i would travel to get to this gym. It’s that great — stop in and see Kurt — he’ll be happy to give you a tour.

Bosse City Club is definitely the nicest fitness club I have ever been too. You walk in and someone greets you like they wake up every morning with their only goal to greet you when you come. Then you go to a locker room where they have all your workout clothes washed and folded in your locker so you never have to worry about bringing anything to the gym. The machines are all beyond state of the art with TV’s and an IPod connection so you can watch Netflix on each individual machine. After i do cardio and weights i often take one of the free hourly classes that are really fun and well taught. After working out I can take a hot rub or a steam with my choice of radio or CD In the different rooms. The showers are amazing and come equipped with a shower head that is definitely better then any shower head I have ever seen. Parking is easy and less then a dollar an hr and when I bring a guest they don’t even charge you if they are from out of town. I literally have never been at a better gym. Oh and they have bikes with screens where you can ride courses or on streets of Boston which is seriously fun! Owner D.J. Bosse owns another club in Sudbury, and clearly he knows how to run the premier club on the east coast, if not the country.
Oh I almost forgot, I got my haircut there as well, they did a great job!

Bosse is truly a five star gym.
Some of the best features are:
1) Upscale and brand new equipment (the seats in the weight room look like the leather seats inside of a luxury car)
2) Never crowded, even at peak hours
3) Working TVs on every machine, and if that’s not your thing, iPod hookups for Netflix watching
4) Amazinggg locker rooms. So clean and huge.
5) Friendly welcome attendant, great service.
I have not tried any of the spa services yet or any of the personal training services but based on the overall upscale feel of the club, I can’t imagine they would be anything less than perfect.

It’s great when the best gym I’ve ever been to is my gym.
Fantastic equipment, never full, never wait for a treadmill, great (free) classes, and superb service.
Case in point: went to a personal training session today and forgot my shorts. Kurt, the manager, lent me his. How many gyms would do that for you?

From the moment I was greeted at the front desk, until the time I left, I had an incredible experience. The massage therapist (Emily) was extremely friendly, and made sure to ask me about areas I wanted to work on for the massage — asking about neck, back, hands, etc. and what to focus on. During the massage she made sure I was comfortable with the amount of pressure and I was so relaxed, I actually fell asleep! I asked her to work on my hands, since I’m an artist, and carpal tunnel is always on my mind, and she reversed 30 years of drawing/​painting/​computer related stress with a combination of massaging and stretching the tendons and muscles. The 50 minutes went by so quickly and at the end I felt brand new, and totally relaxed. She also gave me advice on how to stretch and strengthen certain muscles in my hands to prevent future stress and pain.
If you are looking to get a massage, definitely check out Bosse and book an appointment with Emily.

Nice Facilities, Poor Service
We haven’t been able to even test the quality of spa, because the place wouldn’t honor a discount they advertised. First, they denied it even existed. When we showed proof to the contrary, they reluctantly admitted its was advertised but claimed it was «a mistake». Do I hear «bait and switch»?
The gym and spa both appear new and tastefully done, but were rather deserted. I did notice two employees hanging by. They were dressed in the place’s t-​shirts, but didn’t appear interested in serving customers or gym-​goers. They seemed more focused on chatting, working out and listening to music. Just another indication of the attention to customers.

I went to Bosse City Club and Spa for a hair cut and style and I have to say it exceeded my expectations by far! The club is brand new, clean, and ultra modern. The staff is all friendly and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. Maricruz was my hair stylist and she was fantastic. She took the time to make sure that my hair cut was perfect and it looked fantastic. When I got back to my office (I was on my lunch break), I received numerous compliments on my new cut.
I will definitely be returning to Bosse City Club and Spa and recommend them to anyone looking for quality spa services.
