Cambridge Children’s Dentistry

We’re so happy to have found Dr. Javedan. He is great with both kids and parents, and makes a dentist visit as smooth as can possibly be. The practice is very well equipped to keep little ones entertained while their teeth are being worked on. A keeper.

I took my 4 year old son here for the first time. We had a great experience from start to finish! Dr. Pedram Javedam is very professional and super nice. His staff is great and everything is absolutely clean. My son even asked me to take him back to the dentist the next day, not kidding! I Highly recommended Cambridge Dental Associates.

Dental hygienist was great and the dentist was patient and wonderful with the kids (ages 3 and 1 ½). I would’ve thought it a waste of time for them to «teach me how to brush my own kid’s teeth» but I actually walked away with some awesome tips and brushing my kids teeth is not as much of a struggle! Great experience over all! Kids left happy – the ceiling mounted Curious George video during the exam and HUGE balloon didn’t hurt with their success in winning over mommy and kids!

My son is almost 3 and this is the 3^rd time he’s been seen by a dentist so he’s use to it and behaved very nicely. The hygienist was very nice and introduced all the gadgets to my son so he was familiar with them when the cleaning started. He was excited with the TV on the ceiling and the giraffe glasses he got!!! The doctor is very nice also, gave me a lot of information and everything went smoothly which is ALWAYS A PLUS with a toddler! All together the office is clean and very pleasant and the staff is very attentive and sweet! Great experience THANK YOU!

I brought my 21 mo old son to another dentist in the area awhile back and it was a traumatic experience. So needless to say I researched the crap out of dentists and found Dr. Javedan. Boy am I glad I did because he was great with my little man. Very compassionate and great about explaining things and catering to what my son was doing. For those of you with balloon obsessed kids (like my son), he also gives out balloons!

My son, who is 4, has no cavities or irregularities of any kind, and had a dental exam as recently as June at a dentist in Chicago, had an appointment with this dentist today for a 6 month check-​up. We walk in to the examination room and are asked a series of questions by a dental «assistant» regarding our brushing and eating habits. After answering these questions, she proceeds to tell me that our snacking and brushing habits (snacking throughout the day on fruits and vegetables and brushing once before bed at night) raised a «series of red flags», and that I should be aware that every time my child eats, «even fruits and veggies», it introduces acid in to the mouth and those acids can promote tooth decay. I told her that I would take having my son snack on pineapples and oranges over pristine enamel and that we had no intention of changing our snacking and eating habits, thank you very much, and that I don’t believe that its their job to tell me how to nourish my (incredibly) obviously healthy child. She says, «well, if nothings going to change, then I guess I’ll just go get the doctor. I’m just doing my job», to which I reply, «I think that would be best». So THE DOCTOR, Pedram, walks in and gives me the same spiel and I tell him exactly the same things — I will take a little acid in the mouth if it means my son will eat some fruit, and NO I am not going to chase him around with a toothbrush all day! (When he turns 5 or 6, MAYBE I will insist he brush twice a day, but FOR NOW, he is FOUR and I have other things I have to do rather than start WWIII every GD morning over whether or not he runs a toothbrush across his BABY TEETH). Remember, at this point, no one has even looked in my sons mouth yet — my son, who is getting very stressed out as a result of the tension in the room. By now, the doctor is seated and scooted over to my little boy, who is absolutely not going to let this guy near him because he can sense my mounting distrust. So my son asks the doctor, «What are you going to do to me?» and the doctor says, «Im going to count and brush your teeth, «and looking over at me he says, «Is that OK, Mom?» to which I respond, «Look, just do what you do. Give him a check up. All I am saying is don’t tell me how to feed him. That’s MY business. The teeth, those are yours», but I realize this is going no where because my son isn’t going to let any of this happen and, by now, neither am I, so we just got up and left. As far as I’m concerned, what this amounts to is, «pleased to meet you, I know I haven’t looked at your car yet and you only want an oil change, but I can assure you that it’s broken, and not only is it broken, but YOU broke it!» This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with any kind of a doctor, dental, medical, or otherwise, and I highly recommend you take your children, and your business elsewhere.

I brought my 15-​month-​old son here for his first dentist appointment today. I feel so lucky to live in the greater Boston area and have the opportunity to have my son under the care of someone who seriously must be one of the best pediatric dentists in the country.
Dr. Javedan was so genuinely compassionate and patient with my son, who hates doctors and being touched. Since he wouldn’t sit in the chair, they had the baby sit in my lap facing me, and then I laid him down onto a pillow on the doctor’s lap and held his hands. This way he was restrained and could be examined safely, but it was much less scary for him than if he was in the chair alone. He cried, but Dr. Javedan did everything he possibly could to make him feel as comfortable as possible.
The cleaning was so much easier than I thought it would be. It felt very short to me (I was expecting it to be as long as an adult cleaning) — the doctor worked at a careful but rapid pace, singing to the baby while we watched the stains on his teeth disappear. After the cleaning, Dr. Javedan helped us come up with a very practical and realistic plan to improve our brushing technique.
One thing I really, really appreciated was that no one tried to convince me to stop my son from nursing at night, which I was expecting and dreading. It’s a sign that they are both up on the latest pediatric dental research and also that they are very respectful of mother-​child relationships.
We only spent a couple of minutes with the dental hygienist; she was fine, although she was more like a typical hygienist in that she just rattled off a list of advice that was not very practical (limit snacks, floss every night– right because 1-​year-​old is going to let me floss his teeth.)
Overall, the experience of feeling like «Wow, these people really care about my kid’s teeth» extends from the very beginning to the end of the experience. Making an appointment is easy, as is everything that involves the receptionist Samira, who exudes class and grace. When I made the appointment she even asked about when his naptime is! The office is very cute, with a lovely waiting area with iPads and toys, and TVs and balloons in the dentist area. The tools are modern and sanitary. It’s not so much «I highly recommend them» but more like: If you have a child and you’re within an hour’s drive, call and make an appointment RIGHT NOW, you will not regret it.

My nine-​year old actually looks forward to her visits to the dentist, and has for the past couple of years! She loves Dr. Javedan and his team. Dr. Javedan’s focus on preventative care has helped keep my daughter cavity-​free. However, a few months ago, one of her baby-​molars needed to be pulled — it was refusing to give way to the big tooth. Dr. Javedan managed this with minimal fuss, and, despite being a bit nervous, my daughter was fine throughout the procedure.
The office is beautifully set up, and all the interactions are easy and smooth. I wholeheartedly recommend Cambridge Children’s Dentistry!

My two year old daughter LOVES going to the dentist and it’s all because of Dr. Javedan! She’s turning 3 in December and she just had her third dentist appointment yesterday. For the first two she was pretty nervous, so they gave me a special pillow so she could lay on my lap while Dr. Javedan did his exam. He did such a great and gentle job, that yesterday she felt comfortable graduating to the chair with no problems at all! He has a video playing on the ceiling to help calm down the kids, and when that doesn’t work they have all sorts of other tips to keep kiddos happy. She actually asks to go to the dentist in between appointments and gets really disappointed that she can’t go more often. I tell all my friends with little kids to take them here, and they all end up thanking me for the recommendation because the whole office does such a wonderful job! Now a 6 month wait to go back to the dentist… poor her… ;-)

I recently took my 3 year old for her first dental visit. The office is bright, colorful and welcoming. All members of staff are friendly and engaging; I was especially impressed that the Dr. Jadevan was able to win over my daughter’s trust in such a short period of time (I have a very sensitive and nervous kid!). Finally, my girl was delighted to leave the office with a big link balloon! We have definitely found a keeper of a pediatric dentist!

I took my toddler son there for his first dentist appointment and it was *much* better than I could have hoped. The space is so new, fresh and clean. The people who work there are clearly experts at working with kids. They have a TV on the ceiling, they have toys in every room. It was really, really great. My son cried a bit because he was scared, but they were really good at reassuring him and making him feel safe. The whole cleaning was done while my son was on my lap, which worked great for us. Cambridge Children’s Dentistry is pretty new to Cambridge and are building up their business, so I whole-​heartedly recommend them to anybody with kids!

We were very impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of Doctor J and his staff. My 3 year old daughter went in for her first appointment and they all worked to make her feel comfortable. In the end she actually had fun! Doctor Javedan also helped us prepare her to get rid of her pacifiers and took the time to show us how to properly brush her teeth. The office feels very modern and clean and has plenty of toys and books for the kiddos to play with while they are waiting to be seen. We will definitely continue to use this office.

I was impressed! I brought my 2yr 10mo son here for his first dental appointment, and he left 45 min later saying «I like going to the dentist!».
Service: great! Good phone interactions, easy to book appt, fill out forms online (not in office), they were running on-​time so no wait. The waiting rooms are perfectly kid friendly.
Appointment: info was conveyed extremely clearly, Dr. Jadevan spent a lot of time with us, and seemed excellent.
Perks: my son LOVED that there was Curious George playing on TV on ceiling above his head, so was perfectly behaved throughout the entire visit, entranced by the TV but wearing headphones that also let him hear & respond to the doctor.

Great kids’ dentist! My 2 year old screamed the whole time, but now won’t stop talking about her dentist…“Dr. J told me to put water in my juice.” She even lets me brush her teeth more. Very informative doctor/​staff, very clean/​kid-​friendly office. Loved it!

I had a great experience here with my 21 month old son. Dr. Javedan was very gentle and friendly, and my son liked him right away. My son was allowed to stay in my lap and lean back onto a cushion, so he felt secure. He loved receiving a new toothbrush and best of all, a balloon! He hasn’t stopped talking about the dentist and it has been 2 weeks since our appointment.
The atmosphere was very kid-​friendly without being overly distracting. I found the staff to be very friendly and efficient. Dr. Javedan was very thorough and approachable, and answered all of my questions. Highly recommended!

I took my twins, 3 years old to Dr. Javedan and we had an amazing and unforgettable experience! From that day, my kids want to visit the dentist every day!
We got a super professional cleaning and check, Dr. Javedan gave a lot of time and attention to each child and also learned them about keeping their teeth healthy and clean.
Dr. Javedan and the receptionist were very nice and friendly and the clinic was clean, colorful and beautiful. We will definitely come back!
