John Patrick did my color today and I could not be happier. Not only did he have 8 months of dark regrowth to cover up and make blonde but he had some damaged hair to work with. I have been to a lot of salons as well as worked in a lot and this was the top Job I have ever had done. He is truly amazing and gifted in what he does my hair is amazing. I left feeling like a new woman. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone and will for sure be using him all the time my hair has never looked or felt so good!

Amazing spa and salon. I have been to a fair share of spas in my life and this one is a bit pricey but I couldn’t be happier with the results. Danny is absolutely amazing at hair and Jessica will treat you to the best facial you can receive. the atmosphere is clean and quiet. A perfect getaway!

I’m feeling torn between rating my experience today 2 versus three stars. If I could choose 2.5 I would.

I got a great color and blow dry with Christine and perfect waxing with Jessica (even though my skin is very sensitive, there was no redness ten minutes later!). They were both kind and fun. They listened to my requests carefully. The woman at the front desk made everything easy, although I came in with no appointment. I’ll be back!

I had a fantastic massage with LaMara last week. She is an excellent masseuse, truly solving my painfully tight shoulders/​stress issues with just the right pressure. From the minute I walked into Corbu Spa, the staff was professional, knowledgeable and careful. The spa itself is calming and clean. I will definitely return! And I had a lovely manicure as well. First Class!

I get my hair done by Danny and could not recommend him any higher. He highlights my blonde hair and puts up with my constant desire to evolve the color until it’s «just right.» He has helped bring my hair from damaged to healthy over the past six months and is always working on his own techniques to improve upon his skills. On top of his great skills with my hair, he is always in a great mood, easy to talk to, and attentive to my needs (water, magazine, etc).
The salon is a bit pricey but I can honestly say that Danny is worth every penny!

They’re professional, genuinely good, and have always demonstrated a high level of customer service. It’s the only place I go to for my massages and facials. Highly recommend!

I just got a haircut here and it was the worst I have ever received. I’m not sure if the stylist (Kristina) just didn’t listen to what I explained I wanted, or didn’t care, but I came in needing a slight trim and left looking like a shaved monkey. Will never come back here for a haircut, and caution others against it as well. So disappointed.

Another trip to Corbu– and I loved it. I wanted to get a last minute same day brow wax and my usual brow waxing place (Aveda) never has last minute appointments on a Saturday. I was able to choose from several time options. The brow wax was great and my brow area wasn’t red the next day. I want to shout out to Jen, who is one of the receptionists. She did a fantastic job answering all my questions about the Decleor serums and even gave me some samples to take home when I told her it was hard to commit to buying when I didn’t know how it affected my face over the course of the day.
After I got my brows waxed, I went into the locker room and used the steam room. They have a steam room that’s a steam/​shower combo. Yay!

Yesterday was my first time at Corbu– I saw Debbie for a haircut. I didn’t give her a ton of instruction but just generally asked for a touch up of what I had and gave her some ideas about what I like (which is what I usually do with most stylists, and I usually end up happy with the results.)
Debbie worked quickly and efficiently but with incredible results– this is one of the best haircuts I’ve had in a long time! Like I said, I’m usually happy and satisfied with my haircuts at comparable salons, but I’m in love with this one. She got the layers to look even better than I could have hoped, and I’m so excited when I see it in the mirror. Thank you Debbie for a great cut!
On other dimensions, the salon has a very nice interior with pretty skylights, is clean and well-​maintained, and has friendly staff. I will definitely recommend to friends!

I have loved Corbu for years. Spa like and a true escape from the city hustle and bustle. They recently had to cancel my appointment due to unforeseen building issues and they handled it so remarkably well, I will only go to Corbu (or their amazing sister spot the Green Tangerine) for evermore. AMAZING facials and wonderful customer service.

Loved it.
Small spa, pricey but it’s good, clean and professional. I had a seasonal scrub, a wrap and a foot massage.
Maybe not an every month thing — but for a once in awhile, special treat — why the heck not! It was a great way to start off the new year.

I give up. I’ve been here so many times, had my hair done here a bunch, had a lovely pedicure, then a mediocre pedicure, booked a couple of spa birthday parties, a half-​assed foot massage, a painful full-​body massage that left me sore, and it’s just gotten progressively worse. After Saturday, where I was charged $ 190 for a blow-​out and partial highlights (the bottom 6 inches of my hair) where I provided my own bottle of color) and I came out with hair that looked the same color it did when I went in, I’m giving up. Lockers that don’t function, massages cut-​short, robes that don’t begin to cover your boobs, staff that don’t communicate, soap dispensers that don’t work, services that should be quick and easy but take so long your parking validation expires (over 3 hours) and costs you $ 24… I’m done with you Corbu. Still love Stacey though!

Not Le Pli
Maybe we got off to a bad start when i noticed that my bathroom stall had no lock on it. When I mentioned it to the staff person, she said, «we’re working on it.» Not good enough, I thought.
And Le Pli had the most wonderful massage therapist, but alas I have no idea how to reach Dominique. She had the most amazing hands.
But back to reality… the person assigned to me at Corbu was good but not great. Although I left with fewer tension knots in my back than when I arrived, the massage bordered on painful. I asked her more than once to tone it down a notch but it never got through. In the end, it’s all about what the client wants and for $ 95, that’s not a lot to ask. To me that’s more important than the nice robe and shower shoes.

I’ll say this first-​this place is pricy. BUT they know what they’re doing. I’ve gotten massages here before and it’s been a lovely experience. You get a locker for your things when you change into your robe and slipper and then you go wait in their relaxation wait room while they get ready for you. I don’t remember seeing magazines in here but I flipped through a Le Corbusier coffee table book once.
The other thing I’ve done here is get my nails done. The salon space is clean and well lit with some sweet sunlights on the roof. Great move or they wouldn’t have any natural light. They have all of the new Essie and OPI colors to choose from plus they also have them for sale. I brought my own colors but you’ll definitely have enough to pick from. This isn’t the kind of place that only carries reds and pinks-​they have everything!
The nail tech was great. She and the woman at the front desk went and got me some nice hot tea for a cold fall day like today and made sure I was comfortable. Great hygienic technique and just for my hands, my nail tech went through something like four hand towels. Plus that little hand massage and wipe down of your arms and hands with a hot wet towel feels really nice. For your pedicure you get the same treatment but now there’s some green salts in the foot bath-​they smelled great!
All around great service. Clean and ample space. Staff is kind and attentive. Plenty of colors for nails to choose from. Main downside is that they’re pricey. mani-​pedi runs you $ 75 without tip but come on by Mon-​Wed if you’re a student and you get 20% off services. It used to be that the discount was all the time but this seems to be the new policy. Plus, they typically have a space to take you as a walk-​in so this really is the place to go get your nails done and be pampered after you’ve been running around all day and you just want someone to sit you down and make your stems pretty.

5 stars for the amazing deep tissue massage I got from Kristin! She knows exactly what she’s doing, and used the exact right amount of pressure. I really felt like she focused on all of my problem areas, and took the time to make sure I was feeling good. I’ve gone to many other massage therapists, and she is the best! Well worth the money and time. She’s incredible!

I got a gift card from my boss for this place about 6 months ago. I selected the CorbuLaLa and got the full experience.
The massage therapists & aestheticians were wonderful. I’ve been back for both deep tissue massage and extractions. For my hair cut, I got Devon. And she’s been my stylist since. I highly recommend her. This place isn’t cheap. You get what you pay for.

Scheduled an appointment. Cleared my work calendar. Traveled across town and arrived early. When I checked in I was informed that they don’t offer the service I scheduled (advertised on their website). They said their employees weren’t trained enough to know how to do it.
Waste of time and effort. Don’t bother going there. Horrible experience.

Falling somewhere between spa virgin and seasoned vet, I found Corbu to be a great spa experience.
The spa itself feels tucked away, accessed by going into the small open courtyard behind the Charles Hotel. After checking in I was lead back to the ladies dressing area, complete with private lockers, steam shower and high end amenities. I was able to book an appointment mid-​week when I had a Wednesday off so I had the place virtually to myself. After changing into slippers and a robe, you can enjoy a few minutes in the relaxation area: a soothing space complete with neutral colored chairs, serene music, fresh fruit, water and tea available while getting all zen with the large driftwood sculpture that stretches from floor to ceiling.
After a few minutes of peace and quiet, Emma came to retrieve me for my facial. Don’t ask me what she did exactly– there were organic moisturizers, and exfoliating, and extraction and high-​frequency lasering, and other James Bond-​y aesthetician things that Emma described in detail while I completely zoned out and enjoyed the comfortable surroundings and the hour of relaxation.
I periodically peppered in a few questions– about my dermis, the weather, my current skincare regimen, etc. I got clear and detailed answers along with helpful suggestions that felt like just that: explanations of what I may want to try with my skin type but no hard sell on the spa’s products or extra treatments. While it’s not really in my budget to make this kind of thing a standing monthly appointment– it was well worth the cost and I plan to go back the next time I want to splurge on a spa treatment.
