After spending several years visiting one of Boston’s most highly regarded dentists, I came here because of a change in my dental insurance. The cleaning was ok, a little rough… However when my teeth were examined I was told by Dr Pereira that I had 3 – 4 cavities — most were «very minor», but nevertheless she recommended fillings for all. Having had a clean bill of dental health for many years prior, this was surprising news! It wasn’t explained why I might need «minor cavities» filled (admitly I didn’t ask). I did get a load of details about white fillings vs. silver, and assurance that my insurance would cover the $$$. Basically this got my guard up.
None of the experience was very personable, and there was no building of trust for me as a new patient. Whatever these minor cavities were, a dentist with a more conservative approach could wait to see on a second visit if there was additional decay at all these sites. Chalk it up to a different approach to dentistry?
It’s easy to imagine that, under other circumstances, I may have had little choice but to believe my mouth had suddenly fallen apart. I however did not. I found a different dentist who was much more straightforward and easy to trust, and I had one cavity filled. You minor ones will just have to wait!

Absolutely loved my experience with Donna and her staff. Super friendly, very helpful and walked me through every step of the process. I was a bit confused about my insurance and she explained everything every clearly and never tried to sell me anything I didn’t need. She made my experience literally painless and simple — couldn’t recommend her any higher. Thanks team!

I have been to quite a few dentists and I have to say that I have been most impress with Dr. Pereira. She is by far the most ethical and gentle dentist I have ever encountered. I have had a fear of dentists for years especially given that my front teeth are crowned. I have always been afraid to allow dentists to touch my teeth given the fragile state of my teeth. When I first went to her office, I was petrified. She made me feel very comfortable and gave me all of my options as to what the best and most cost effective way to treat my front teeth. My first appointment was xrays, an exam and a cleaning. Her Hygienist Sandra is great! I left there feeling squeaky clean. The staff there is also great as they informed me of my insurance coverage and how to maximize the benefit of my insurance.
What I noticed most about the office was it’s cleanliness. I have been to some pretty filthy offices and this office is immaculate!!! The staff and doctor all are very good about sterilization and the treatment rooms had all the blue sticky paper everywhere so they would not dirty things they touched.
PS– She gives the best needle ever and I hate needles!!!
I highly recommend this office. I have not ever written a review in the past and made sure I took the time to do so for this office which goes to show how much of a great experience I had and how comfortable I felt in such a caring environment. Highly recommend Dr. Pereira and her team!!!

I have been to many a crappy dentist. I hate dentists who push expensive procedures on you, but Dr. Pereira and her team were so helpful in letting me know exactly what was going on, what their concerns were and what my options are. They were so nice; not judgmental at all! This place is great. I need some work done, but they in no way made me feel pressured to get anything done. They were so skilled in helping me to prioritize what work to get done first and what work could wait a year. I never thought I would say this about a dentist, but I am not dreading going back in 6 months for my check up!
