Great milkshakes! Not great service. Make sure you have plenty of time to get this«fast» food — the staff doesn’t seem to be in any hurry! It took us 15 minutes to get 3 milkshakes with no one else in the store. That being said — vanilla is best.

I really like the burgers here. I don’t eat fries anymore, but I’ve had them, and I could take it or leave them. Good soft buns, fresh toppings, good sized burgers, etc. The grass fed beef is high quality and the overall experience for about $ 9.00 is pretty good, so enjoy. I would say the service is very pedestrian, almost like fast food joints. Unfortunately, that’s standard in most restaurants today, especially ones run by idiotic millennials. There are reports on here of a couple folks becoming ill after eating«medium rare» burgers. Folks, that could happen anywhere — lesson you should learn is, never eat undercooked hamburgers. Always medium well and you never have issues. Steaks yes, burgers no on the rare side. same with chicken or any poultry product.

Love this place. Been going here for lunch once in a while for 6+ years, and Four Burgers has never let me down. Super solid, locally sourced, fresh burgers, and legit, real-deal fries.

I had two epiphany experiences at Four Burger today, even though I’ve been a regular for a long time, which leads me to this 5 star review: 1) Four Burger is that rare establishment that really GETS people with severe food allergies. If you don’t have them, you may not realize how much it means to our family to be able to have an establishment that we can eat at safely that’s in our neighborhood. We had literally come straight here after being treated rudely at Tasty Burger when we asked to see the labeling on the GF buns and were rudely turned away, even though they have GF options. At Four Burger, the lady at the counter knew exactly what we were looking for and pulled it up on the iPad in a split second. Not only that, she made sure that everything was right… in addition to the GF buns and the GF fries, she made sure the burgers were made on a separate griddle apart from dairy products. She even asked if we wanted to make sure the food handlers changed their gloves(yes!) Then she personally brought our food out to us when it was ready. Gestures and thoughtfulness like this ensure that we will continue to be regulars here… thank you so much, Four Burger staff! 2) I(not the one with the food allergies) have frequently come on my own for lunch since my office is nearby. I’ve always liked the burgers, but not loved them, and today I realized why when I tried the GF bun. I’ve always ordered the wheat bun for myself(when in doubt, pick the«healthier» option, right?) But I realized today that the wheat bun kinda overpowers the burger with its taste, and that I actually loved the taste of the burger with the GF bun instead. I was able to better appreciate the quality of the other ingredients in the burger, like the beef this time. So with that in mind, I may order the regular bun or GF option going forward instead! Just a note if you want to change up your Four Burger routine.

Not good. So many better options around(Boston burger company, bartleys, wuburger). Just not that tasty

Terrible veggie/back bean burger. Tasteless mush. I’m assuming this is one of the 4 in the name, so since it’s not an afterthought, like regular burger places, they should have made an effort. Au Bön Pain and Chili’s both have much better black bean burgers.

I LOVE four burgers! They have gluten free buns AND all their sides are gluten free including the fries!(designated fryer). I love this place. Meat quality is on par, one of my favorites.

I haven’t been to this place in a while because I moved far away from the area but recently visited Cambridge and I was excited to have lunch here again(four burgers) but what a big disappointment! One of my favorites used to be their salmon burger, it was juicy, fresh, so tasty, and LOVEd their crunchy fries! Now, whatever happened to that juicy, fresh, delicious, burger? Did the owner sell and the place went down hill? The food was cold, not fresh at all, it tasted like it had been frozen for months, the spices on the burger were horrible, it felt like they use flour to compact the salmon meat together, the bun had an aged color and the cole slaw was super hard that I had to put it on the side because I couldn’t bite into it. My friend had the cheese burger and it was the same experience: tasted frozen and the bun was not fresh. The fries were oily and tasted like they had been out for a while. Also, they flipped their screen over, when I was paying, for tip % options(if you eat there) only to bring over your burger just a couple of feet away(I can do that myself!) if they would only clean their chairs and booster-seat area at least I would had felt the tip went on cleaning service but I had to wipe off our seats and table; the wipe turned black, it was so filthy that I had to use a few!!! For sure this place let me down big time. It was one of the top burger places on my list. :/guess I’m not coming back. Oh and did I mention they are ridiculously expensive! two burgers and a kid meal=$ 30! For bad food– no way!

Sweet potato fries were good, but a little mushy and limp My burger was cooked medium rare, yay! It’s been years since I’ve ordered AND received a medium-rare burger. The problem is there was not even a hint of seasoning – everything was just bland. Plus the patty size was FAR too small for the bun it came in. Good wait time during rush, though.

Yummy vegetarian options. The grass fed is a good burger but they tend to overcook. Last time I went, I ordered it Rare because I really wanted it Medium Rare.

If you have a large appetite, beware — since the burgers here are pretty small for what you get. I do find it hard to taste the difference of grass fed beef versus a better cut of beef. If you get the fries here, the serving size is not bad — but it certainly won’t make up for the size of the burger. I thought it was nice that they had some alternative/“local” brand for their sodas.

I ordered the turkey burger with tomato, lettuce, Gouda cheese, and chipotle mayo on a whole wheat bun. My husband ordered a veggie burger with tomato, lettuce, pepper jack cheese with salsa and guac. We also ordered small sweet potato fries. The burgers were huge and SO delicious. I was so surprised at the quality of BOTH the turkey and veggie burger. The sweet potato fries came in a huge bag even though we ordered a size small. I can’t complain about that at all! The staff was super helpful as well. It was our first time there so because we were unsure what to order the staff walked us through the menu. We will definitely be back here!

I really don’t understand how this place is still in business. The prices are so outrageously high and the quality of their kitchen and dining experience doesn’t even come close to justifying the price. Every single time I went in there I ordered my burger medium rare and every single time it came out well done. At one point I told the register person(more on that in a minute) that I don’t normally send food back but they’ve messed up my order so many times that I would if it came out overcooked. She assured me it would be medium rare… but it came out well done. You had one job!(Seriously, it’s just burgers and hot dogs) How do you mess that up so consistently? Also the layout of the place is super confusing. You have to order at the register like a McDonalds, but then when you’re done, there’s nowhere for you to throw away your own trash. You’re supposed to just leave it on the table and expect that one of their staff will clean it for you. It’s super non-intuitive and I’ve seen dozens of confused patrons carry their empty baskets back to the register, not knowing what to do with them. It’s not a full-service place, but it’s also not a no-service place. I’ve never seen anywhere like it and it makes no sense. The one redeeming quality is that occasionally they have specials for things like Bison burgers that are so easy to cook, even their kitchen hasn’t messed it up(yet).

I love grass fed beef. Maybe its psychological but i always seem to enjoy grass fed better, and these burgers hit the mark with me. Delicious burger cooked perfectly, standard lettuce tomato onion topping with a side of the very thin fries and i was a happy diner. Prices are up there a little, but your in the republic of Cambridge, so you expect that. The place was clean and bright, and the servers were very pleasant, go to the counter order your food, take a little flag with a number on it and the servers will bring out your order when its ready. Simples. i’m sure i’ll be back there again.

Went here with my sister for dinner. She raved about this place as having the best burger. I was not disappointed! She did all the ordering and I got the same exact burger as she did. Grass-fed burger with the fried egg in it. It was delivered to our table quick and it was delicious. The sweet potatoe fries with the Chipotle/mayo was perfect with the burger. Love it!

It is a very solid burger. There are so many ways to customize your burger. It is a little on the pricey side for the kind of burger you get but its definitely worth it. Their ingredients are well made and you can taste each individual flavor on your burger.

Fabulous place for a quick lunch. The staff are pleasant and the food is nicely prepared. I’ve always been very taken with their choice of four different burgers, the vegetarian options and the different fries. All good.

This place has one of the best menus around, very clear and logical and easy to make counter orders. And then they still bring it to your table. The types of burger are something for everyone, the toppings are gourmet, and you can get a beer. But best of all for me is the potato salad side, which is like the only good example of that frequently terrible offering I’ve found in Boston. Just potatoes, mayo, some herbs, starchy and a little mushy but never runny or undercooked. I always get a beef burger, but it’s the potato salad I long for.

I recently ordered through GrubHub. I had a Bacon Cheeseburger with fries and a chocolate shake. The burger was nothing special, just your average burger. The slice of cheese was so thin that you could almost see through it. The order of small fries were HUGE and crispy. The shake was good. Overall the burger was average, while the fries and shake were good.

Their menus do not quite match up. Sure, their online menu and paper take-out menu could be simply out of date, as many are. I can accept that. But when the sidewalk sandwich board does not match up with the wall menu, that’s not good. I opted to sample their wares by ordering the $ 8.50 Kid’s Burger & Side which also includes a drink. I opted for sweet potato fries and a vanilla milk which I had to grab myself from the side fridge. The rest of my order was delivered to me at my selected table. The burger was larger than a slider, perhaps about 3 inches in diameter. A generous portion of my selected fries accompanied. The burger was okay, though it could have been juicier. The sweet potato fries did the job, but were nothing I would yearn for to calm my sweet potato cravings. I noticed a couple of new side options on the wall menu(aka they were not mentioned on either the online menu nor the take-out menu) — cole slaw $ 1.50 and potato salad $ 1.75 — but I think I’d like a repeat of their tater tots at some point. While you do have to order and pay at the counter at Four Burgers, they give you a metal number, bring you your food and bust your table. There isn’t even a trash can for you to attempt to bust your own table. So go ahead and add a tip to your receipt. *** 4⁄2016 *** They make brownies here. And they are good! $ 2.25 for one slab of OMG brownie — that’s $ 2.41 after tax. For that price, you won’t feel bad saying yes to the crisp chocolate top layer hiding fudgy goodness beneath. The Kid’s Burger & Side(also advertised for the smaller appetite) is still $ 8.50, and for my side I selected the House Made Tater Tots($ 3.50 a la carte) served with bacon and scallion sour cream. The milk was the kid’s carton type. The burger a 5 bite sized slider — yes, larger than your average slider. The tater tots portioned for sharing, though I wasn’t having any of that! A cup was considerately offered, so I got myself some water by the soda fountain. The tater tots were definitely not your grocery store freezer section product. Those are great from the get go despite their mass production — chopped up slivers of potatoes formed into stubby cylinder shapes and cooked so they’re crisp on the outside, yet tender and fluffy on the outside. Ah, the sort of thing that childhoods are made of… These were made of mashed potatoes. Not just mashed potatoes, but well seasoned(I could see bits of scallions in them) mashed potatoes that had that gluey consistency of having been overly mixed. I’m hoping it was just an overzealous hand, and that it isn’t the norm, cause the flavor was great, and it was so good hot against the cool sour cream dip. Prices for the burgers and hot dogs have remained steady these past 2 – 3 years, while those for the sides and drinks have inched up slightly, yet stayed reasonable — except perhaps for their drinks with ice cream… I can’t really justify ordering a milkshake for $ 5.50 to myself. A single bathroom is available down the scary stairs in the back, and through a narrow hallway. The bathroom itself, however, is quite huge! Service was quite friendly. *** 5⁄2016 *** Sampled their cole slaw(creamy, not sweet), and potato salad(simple, potato flavored) and went back to their tater tots $ 3.50 and one of their Jumbo Hot Dogs $ 4.50. Not sure what made the hot dog a jumbo. It seemed pretty normal sized. The skin had a nice snap and the bun came toasted. I added a few of their free toppings: ketchup, relish(a fresh, crisp, dry sort — I liked it!), mango bbq sauce(interesting), carrots(fresh, shredded), and sesame cole slaw(very sesame, nice crisp fresh cabbage), which made for a relatively healthy meal, given that it was indeed a hot dog. And couldn’t leave without a brownie for $ 2.25($ 2.41 after tax). Spied a salad on a nearby table — seems you can replace the bun of a burger with salad for a gluten free and healthier meal… next time… if I remember…
