Description

Specialties

The Canine Cognition Lab is based in the Psychology Department at Harvard University. We study the cognitive abilities of domesticated dogs in an effort to shed light on the evolutionary development of social and ethical behaviors. Pet owners bring their dogs into our lab for short cognitive tests. Owners stay with their dogs at all times, acting as «handlers» for each study. In general, the dogs find the experience enjoyable (lots of treats!) and their human companions find it interesting. Each dog receives a diploma and a leash as a «thank you» for participating.
