Jimmy’s Shoe Repair

I had a pair of Florsheim shoes and Johnston & Murphy boots brought in for heel repairs, and they did a fabulous job repairing them. The boots also had a tear in the leather where attaches to the sole, and they fixed that as well. It might not be dirt-​cheap to have shoes and/​or boots repaired here, but as the old saying goes, «You pay for what you get».
I’m happy with the work they’ve done, and will go back for sure!
P. S. They were also very nice, and when they original time they quoted me ran a bit later than expected, they gave me a pair of boot laces (which are surprisingly more expensive that I thought).

Friendly staff, excellent service. My suede loafers suffered a Thanksgiving cranberry sauce mishap. After Jimmy’s cleaned them up, they look good as new! I’m taking all my shoe maintenance needs to them from now on.

Somehow I go through shoes more often than I’d like.

Luckily there’s Jimmy’s shoe repair. They’ve repaired and reconditioned many of my heeled shoes and the quality of their work is great. I think no modern person has time to constantly shop for and replace shoes and any kind of trash is not great for the environment.

Parking is a little challenging, but I think worth the service.

I went in to have a heel sealed back up on one of my shows and got some new laces. The resealing job seems fine, but there is still a visible gap between the heel and the rest of the shoe. Still seems to be holding fine, and it was only $ 13. I’ll probably go back to get some leather boots cleaned up for the winter.

These guys have repaired everything for me. Everything! From a pair of ($ 400!) No. 6 shearling clogs to Manolo Blahniks to my daughter’s salt water sandals, and everything has turned out perfectly, better than any shoe repair place I’ve ever used. Their prices are incredibly reasonable and they’re all super-​nice and extremely honest (when I’ve brought in things beyond repair, they’ve said, «we can’t fix these; toss them»). More than once they’ve rushed jobs for me. Seriously, they’re great. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I got sole protectors for my AE loafers and they did a pretty good job. It cost $ 40.

I took my favorite leather boots to Jimmy’s to add rubber sole and metal tips (cause after only 2 weeks… my leather sole get worn in at an alarming rate). Metal tips were add but only after a few wear, one of the tips fell off…
What happened next…
Jimmy and his family was on vacation but as soon as he returns, I took my pair of Frye back to Jimmy’s, they are very nice and fixed my shoes right on the spot. (Literally took less than 3 min). They changed it to a smaller size metal tips and stating they should stay on… and it’s been a few weeks, so far so good.
Yes, this place is not cheap, but consider location, quality, and customer service — I’ll be a returning customer~~ Plan on bringing my leather ballet flats in for a rubber sole add on~

This guy made my day! I had broken wheel on my suitcase which I LOVE SO MUCH, and could not fix the wheel since could not find correct size of wheel. I even called to manufacturer, but they could not help me since they don’t sell wheels separate. OMG I was so tired to finding the correct size of this wheel online… This guy found the corect wheel and fixed it in 5 minutes! Thank you

They helped fix terrible workmanship from another shoe repair place. Got rid of the brown paint and glue on leather – as promised. Looks great now.

This business performs excellent, high-​quality repairs on very expensive and complex footwear, purses, and other items. I entrust them with my most expensive shoes and purses, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, J. Choo, Ferragamo, …the list is endless.
The staff is unfailingly polite and helpful. The business hours are clearly posted, and work performed is generally better than promised. Th e prices are very reasonable, especially considering that they can be repairing shoes and purses worth thousands.
The shop is very centrally located, in a very eclectic neighborhood. So, after you drop-​off your shoes, enjoy a good meal, eyebrow threading, Lassi, whatever. Everything is available in the Central Square area.

I went to Jimmy’s after the zipper slider on my favorite boots flew off the top. I simply brought the pieces to him, and he restitched the entire zipper to put the original hardware back on.
When I picked them up, the woman at the counter was trying to figure out which boot had been repaired, and then of course I couldn’t remember either. The work was so solid, that we couldn’t figure out which boot had been fixed! At that point, who cares right?
That’s EXACTLY the kind of work I want done! Thanks Jimmy!

Can’t say enough good things about this place. The owner is so lovely to deal with. They turn things around very promptly with high quality. And the prices are fair. What more can you ask for?!

Oh my sweet Jimmy. This review doesn’t express my gratitude.
I purchased a pair of thigh high boots online and of course they don’t fit around my calves. Why was I surprised? I’m not sure who these boots are made for (besides walking) but certainly not for anyone with an ounce of meat on their bones.
Anywho, I brought them into Jimmy’s to have the throat of the boot stretched and voila! They fit perfectly!!! I’m so glad because they are a fierce and I didn’t want to return them!

Been to Jimmy’s twice now. Once to replace soles on a pair of suede wingtips, and again to add sole protectors to some Italian lace-​ups that weren’t fit for the Boston winter. Both pairs were important to me, and I was very happy with both repairs. A year later the soles on the wingtips have held-​up perfectly with frequent use; no separation, excessive wear-​down, or breakage. Very high quality workmanship, great no-​nonsense honest service, and a very fair price… and just down the street. Awesome!
Note that your claim ticket asks for you to come back after 2PM. They keep to this schedule, so if you show up at noon, expect to wait a few minutes while they do their finishing touches. Also note cash-​only.

Was new to the area and searching for a new cobbler. I’ve found the man! My tan suede Jimmy Choo pumps were very stained and dirty. Now they look nearly brand new. Not one spot left on the suede… Amazing! Also gave them a try with my favorite Louboutins as they needed to be resoled. Very smooth finish. Thanks for your service!

I couldn’t ask for a better shoe repair experience than at Jimmy’s. The folks there are speedy, kind, and clearly masters of their work.
It took about one week for them to do a wonderful repair of my favorite boots, which have taken quite a beating over the winter. I was really pleased with the workmanship and price of their service.
I’ll be back with more of the heels that I’ve worn down, and will look forward to putting them into the care of the folks at Jimmy’s. I feel really fortunate to have found this business.

Went to Jimmy’s to get a rip sewed up in a pair of soft leather boots. I had originally tried to take them to the drycleaning place on mass ave in central square, but they were going to try to charge me like $ 30, so they recommended Jimmy’s. I took the shoes in to Jimmy’s and for $ 10 (I believe cash only) they had them sewed up and ready to roll in 2 days!
I’ve been wearing the shoes for over a year now and they are good as new!

I have gone to Jimmy’s twice now and both times had an excellent experience. The staff was very helpful and polite. They were honest as to what they would be able to do and were successful with both trips. They were also very quick with the turnaround time (just about 1 week).
I have a particular pair of dress shoes I wear pretty much every day because they are so comfortable. It would sadden me to get rid of them, much less since they are no longer produced and I don’t want to pay even more for that. The first time I brought them in was because the stitching on one seam had broken and Jimmy’s stitched them up beautifully and in a way that you wouldn’t know unless you really looked closely. The second time was because I wore a hole in the bottoms of both shoes. They were able to replace the soles with a better material that will hold up in the fickle Boston weather more-​so than the originals.
Mind you that it is cash only and from what I can tell it is mostly pre-​pay, although on my first trip they did not require me pay in full, which makes me hesitant to say this is a mandate. I just wouldn’t want someone to make the trek only to turn around and have to find an ATM.
The price is reasonable, especially if it is a pair of shoes you really like. Neither time did I feel like I was overpaying for the quality of the work I got back. Needless to say, I will go back in a heartbeat. They are as good as it gets.

My wife walked a hole in a pair of Camper boots in few a months time and was crestfallen when Camper would not replace/​repair the boots. We took them to Jimmy’s expecting that they could not be fixed since it was a layered rubber sole.
Jimmy’s said it was possible, and a miraculous repair was performed, these boots are not just ‘as good as new’ they are far better than the original. The sole is slightly thicker and MUCH more durable with the original look of the boot intact.

We have also used Jimmy’s shoe repair for a few traditional repairs of Cydwoq shoes and they have been perfect.
