Please note that posting a review may put your privacy at risk and for that reason I suggest against it. In order to protect your privacy I will never respond to your reviews, but encourage you to contact me directly at any time if you are a past or current patient and have concerns about the quality of care you received. It is always your right to post a review, and if you do so, I encourage you to use a pseudonym. Posting a review is a public activity, so consider carefully what information you choose to disclose. Although I appreciate that you may wish to offer a testimonial if you are satisfied with the treatment you received, it is unethical for me to solicit past or present testimonials, and I will never do so. If you believe that I (or any licensed mental health professional) has done something harmful, you can contact your state licensing board and make a formal complaint. Please be aware that details of your therapy may come up if there is a formal investigation.
Meet the Business Owner
Mike L.
Business Owner
Mike offers a reflective and engaging partnership with his clients, working toward the goal of helping them to be authentic and compassionate in a world that can be extremely stressful.
Although Mike’s work is solidly grounded in psychodynamic, cognitive/learning, and systems theories, his approach is client-centered, practical and strengths-based. He brings his honesty, warmth, and humor to the therapy relationship. He is LGBT affirmative, and invested in doing cross-cultural therapy which is culturally sensitive.
Many therapists know little about online games such as World of Warcraft and Second Life. They may dismiss it as unimportant, or assume it is a problem. Mike is a gamer-affirmative therapist, meaning he is more interested in understanding your in-world experience and activity than pathologizing it. Other specialties include:
Parenting Conflicts with Adolescents
School-based Behavioural Issues/Learning Disabilities
Adolescent Depression
