Description

Specialties

We’re a local family of dumpling-loving people who are passionate about handmade, authentic and delicious food.

Patty Chen has been making dumplings since she was eight years old. She first started making dumplings at her family’s restaurant, «Four Seasons Dumpling House» in 1976.

She emigrated with her family, right after college, and founded their first US business, the «PuPu Hot Pot Chinese Restaurant» in 1992.

It was here, that she met her future husband and business partner, Marc Shulman. Marc and Patty put a twist on traditional dumpling houses by creating vegetable infused skins and varied fillings to create Patty’s «Happy Dumpling Family.»

History

Established in 2013.

Patty Chen and Marc Shulman, husband and wife, have launched 3 successful local businesses.

They started out working together at PuPu Hot Pot (Patty’s family spot) and then proceeded to launch Taiwan Café, All Asia Bar and The Windsor Inn, all in the Central Sq area.

The latest venture came from Marc’s yearning to return to the dumpling houses of Taiwan, only to find our that he was living with «the master».

Patty Chens Dumpling Room launched on September 15th, 2013, at the Joyce Chen’s Annual Dumpling Festival. Subsequently, Marc and Patty put a twist on traditional dumpling houses, by creating vegetable infusedskins, and varied fillings, to create Patty’s «Happy Dumpling Family.»
