Join Cambridge’s early childhood innovation center.
Imagine a place where children are encouraged to make mistakes, two-year-olds are learning how to play the violin, and teachers are encouraging children to explore the limits of their potential.
Rock and Roll Daycare and Montessori Preschool is a music based early childhood innovation center for children ages 0 – 6. We seek to create an environment where children engage in planned and improvised musical activities everyday, enjoy the freedom of an extended Montessori work period each day, and where parents can observe their child’s classroom from the convenience of their cell phone.
Children are encouraged to explore a specifically prepared, child sized environment at their own pace, while also participating in a range of music and arts based activities such as extended music classes every day with one of our five specialists, one-on-one private music lessons, monthly student performances, and bi-monthly professional concerts.
Now with three locations in East Cambridge, Lechmere, and Central Square, Rock and Roll Daycare is one of New England’s fastest growing learning centers.
History
Established in 2012.
Rock and Roll Daycare was birthed in June 2012, seven short months after the birth of our first child, Arella. Our idea was to provide daily music classes to children in every classroom. After our first year, we expanded to a second facility on Prospect Street, which would triple our capacity. During this time we were able to move towards a Montessori curriculum, hiring Montessori certified trainers and teachers to help us realize this goal. We also hired our first music coordinator who began to oversee our entire music program.
In May 2014, we opened our third site at 527 Cambridge Street. We were able to launch a new proprietary program, «Explorations» which would allow preschoolers and toddlers children to explore, music, art, movement, drama, and engineering in a prepared Montessori environment.
We have now received certification by the American Montessori Society (AMS) as a Member School, and operate a Music and Montessori teacher training program, Rock and Roll Institute.
