Sapporo Ramen, located in Cambridge, MA, is a small Japanese noodle house serving up authentic ramen. Come enjoy some of the best noodles on the east coast.

We have 10 different kinds of ramen recipes to satisfy your palette. Our yellow noodles are made the traditional Japanese way with whole wheat and egg. Our chicken is slow cooked for 10 hours to make sure it encapsulates all of the flavors and juices. Our broth is creamy, thick, flavorful, and all made from scratch. Our generous servings will be sure to keep your bellies full. The House Ramen and Spicy Miso are some of our top favorites. We also have a few side dishes for those who are extra hungry.

Our ramen dishes are so amazing we can sometimes get a line out the door, but don’t let this deter you, our line moves quickly and is definitely worth the wait.

I’ve been to a few ramen places in the past and have been very happy with the quality.
This place has very low standards. My ramen had old slabs of pork, that were uneatable, canned corn, and what looked like a pickled egg. GROSS!
Asked for the clear broth soup, and was charged for both soups. Very tacky. Much better options out there, don’t waste your time.

Lemme tell you,
I cheated on my gluten-​free diet for my school project for this but its worth it:
First of, Sapporo in Central Sq does not taste good and I’ve tried that multiple time — so I’m already skeptical about trying it in Porters. But, I’m glad I was wrong.
I had the cold noodle ramen and my friend got the miso ramen. Got to try the miso broth it was really good and not gross like Centrals. Cold noodle was AMAZING. Bomb. The peanut sauce and the fresh veggies, nice noodles and the seaweed works so well together. The meat was good too, perfect bite every time.
We came at 2:50, had no idea they close for break at 3pm but they still let us sit and order. Service is normal for Porters anyways.
The people next to us was having a bomb *ss time with their ramen too, will go back here again soon: D

No frills place to get a great bowl of ramen! I always do take out here because the place is tiny and always busy.
The broth is chicken based (not pork) but still is super flavorful. I love the spicy miso. YUM! 4 stars because it’s cash only.

The place was rather hard to find. My sister and I kept passing it trying to find the place. At the end, we went inside a building that showed no indication of Sapporo being inside. And we kept passing the hallway since the sign were not obvious at all. Finally we waited in line for 20 mins to be seated. Oh boy, it was smokey since we sat close to the kitchen. There is a giant vent but it did not help much. Also, everyone sat so close to each other. I can hear the couple next to us fighting. The husband tried to keep it low key and did his best to smooth his wife. His wife didnt say anything. The food is so good, so flavorful. Im bad with spicy food so I got the House ramen but my sister’s hot and spicy soup is better than me for sure.

The line can get super long so prepare for this upon coming in. The ramen is chicken based broth with slices of pork and bean sprouts. So delicious. The portions are super big too! Some of my favorite ramen in Boston.

I’ve been here quite a few times but this is the first time I’m reviewing it. Of course, this isn’t a place to go linger and dine in for a good amount of time, it’s very quick turnover. Eat, Pay, Go… which doesn’t bother me one bit. I usually would order the Spicy Miso Ramen but today I ordered the Soy Sauce one, which was actually really good too. I mainly ordered that for the Bamboo shoots (i love bamboo) My friend ordered the Spicy Miso. It was her first time there and she really liked it. I ought to teach her how to use chop sticks though, random thought.
Anyway, It was good, just like the last handful of times I’ve been there.
Quick, friendly, service.

After waiting in line to be seated at this hole in the wall dining spot in a mall, we were extremely disappointed. I was expecting to turn my mother on to authentic Japanese ramen and they did not live up to their end. First, the broth was only cooked 10 hours, as opposed to the usual 20 or 24 hours in typical ramen restaurants. The kicker: the brother is done with chicken! The broth was salty and bland. My tan men pork slices were literally frozen after
being in the brother for 10 or 15 minutes. The pork was also very thick. I don’t understand the line to get in. Perhaps I am spoiled by the dozens and dozens of authentic ramen restaurants in the Japanese neighborhoods in Los Angeles.
The menu had a decent selection of assorted ramen dishes and gyoza, which we did not try.
The prices were fair at about $ 10 per bowl and the portions were average.
I will not be back but will try the other Japanese food stalls and the Blue Fin Restaurant
which I have not eaten at in about 10 years.

Came here with a friend for catch up time while I was in town for the marathon. I was in desperate need for some salty hangover food, and was also trying to stick to a budget. My brother had suggested this and another ramen place in the area. The other was closed on Sundays, therefore Sapporo was the winner. Finding it was fairly easy, but only because my brother said it was in the Leslie University building. I felt like I walked into «Little Asia» with all the other enticing options in the food court-​like setting, but we were determined to enjoy ramen, and so we made our way in.
Based upon what my brother had said, I expected a really long line. But my friend and I were fortunate to walk right in. Perhaps it was because it was near closing time on a Sunday. Or perhaps it was just good luck. Either way, we were seated at a table for two and handed our menus. Water was brought quickly and after a brief glance, we knew we both wanted the House Ramen. Keep it simple. Our bowls were served quite shortly thereafter and were steaming upon arrival. The broth is pretty salty, which on a normal day might have been too much, but on this particular day I very much enjoyed it. Portions are large and the price is fair. They started cleaning up and packing away tables and chairs while we were still eating our meal, but we were never rushed out.
To make it a 4 star, I would have loved if my egg was soft boiled and also if the meat was warmed, as this likely contributed to a faster cool down of the meal. Also, it is cash only, so come prepared. All in all, a tasty and quick bite to eat if you’re in the area.

The owners are so friendly and their ramen is delicious. My favorite is the spicy miso ramen (very spicy). They do not do delivery but call 10 minutes in advance and they’ll have whatever you want available for pickup! Not too expensive and the portions are huge.

Broth is good, though it was only lukewarm and the meat was cold. Not sure what happened, but probably because orders are rushed. And the egg is just hard boiled instead of soft boiled like it should. Broth is very thick though, and flavorful. The ramen here is on the heavier side. The broth is too thick for my taste.

Sapporo has long been the lone, viable ramen option in Boston for a quite while until the recent years when more ramen joints started popping up.
Sapporo, in my opinion, has the best ramen broth: thick, savory, and full of flavor. It is also one of the more affordable ramen options in Boston being just under $ 10 a bowl.
The biggest downside however, is the pork and egg is consistently served cold. Yes that’s correct, cold, pre-​prepared, out of the fridge, not made on the spot, not 100% fresh, however you want to word it. Consequently, the egg is not properly made as it’s hardboiled all the way through, losing that runniness one would come to expect. It’s simply unacceptable.
It was good while it lasted, but I can’t justify coming here knowing that the protein is going to be cold.

First time at a ramen place, and the line for this place is crazy! Think amusement park to a ride with only 8 seats (tables in this case). While in line, the server will bring you a menu and ask for your order while you’re in line, which is very efficient. The annoying thing is that for a group of 4, you HAVE to order 3 ENTREES. This place ONLY ACCEPTS CASH, but $ 20 should be enough for yourself, they only have Ramen and a few appetizers. I didn’t see any signs of soda either, everyone got water.
As for the entrees, the House Noodles was thick, as well as the broth. I wasn’t really sure what to look for since I don’t do noodles/​ramens much. The best part is the meat on top, I liked the sweetness that came with it. My favorite is the cold noodles, so much sweetness in it from the surrounding veggies and seaweed salad. It’s no soumen, but it’ll do for a nice warm day. With the hassle of line and their rule, I don’t think I can be a regular here. If you’re a fan of ramen, I say give it a shot.

Sapporo Ramen earned a 5 star out of me. I loved how much flavor the broth had – very rich and a great portion. When we arrived, there was a line to eat. The line got fairly long – but it’s a small restaurant in Porter square. Definitely worth the wait IMO (in my opinion).
We also had the pork buns. Wasn’t too bad. I enjoyed it. Worth a try as well IMO.
I would definitely come back. For those who don’t know, Sapporo is located in one of the Lesley University building with, I believe parking lot in the back that you can validate your ticket. I could be wrong though since I didn’t try parking there. Just saw it on the way out.

A solid option for your Japanese ramen fix– unfortunately not worth the wait, for me. Broth is a bit too rich to fully enjoy nor finish in a single setting. Every time I come, I feel very satisfied before even making it halfway through my bowl!
If you’re interested in heavy, extremely filling Japanese ramen, definitely come to Sapporo! Also highly recommend showing up early, and in a smaller group if possible. There is almost always a line for dinner, and extremely limited seating– it’s definitely easier to get a table the fewer people you have!

Mmm, a nice chilly day, perfect for a hot bowl of ramen. I arrived around 12:30. Lunch rush, but luckily there was no one in line besides me. The single server took my order while I waited for a table to clear up. I decided to go with a bowl of the miso ramen, extra noodles and an extra hard boiled egg. I only waited about 5 minutes before being seated, but it was odd that my food took another 10 to come out even though it was pre-​ordered. Figured it would come out faster…
Anyways, mmmmmmm! The noodles were the perfect chewiness. The 2 large pieces of pork were well seasoned and tender. The broth was not overly salty, but perfectly balanced in terms of miso. It was also kinda thick, maybe that’s the collagen they speak of on their menu? I added a dollop of spicy chili oil, except it was regrettably not spicy at all.
The bowl came out to be $ 12.80, $ 1 for extra noodles and $ 2 from the egg (since the bowl is normally $ 9.80). $ 2 for half a hard boiled egg?! 1 egg probably costs them like 15 cents… talk about mark up. Still, I’d pay it as it was delicious. Also, cash only. Something that really annoyed me though was the God awful disposable wooden chopsticks, the kind you break apart. They’re short, rough in between your fingers, splintery. Like they paid to have their logo printed on the outside wrappers of these… please get real chopsticks and just clean them! Not that hard compared to the bowls and spoons you already have to wash!
I also wonder how the other restaurants in the food alley feel, seeing as how this ramen joint is always packed with a line and other places have only 1 table occupied, at most.

It’s hard to judge ramen because everyone has their own preferences in terms of broth. This particular ramen place makes very thick, creamy broth which I think is pretty good. The contents of the ramen are all standard and cooked okay, really just depends on your preference as I said before. Only real downside is how tiny this place is and the line/​wait that’s always there. The wait is usually like 40 minutes, but it sucks because you actually have to stand there the whole time. Definitely would recommend it if you come on an off hour, otherwise it might not be worth the wait if you’re not into this kind of ramen.

Haven’t been here for awhile since it’s a bit far and I have a few ramen places near me, but from what I remember it was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the broth since it was nice and thick. The ramen was tasty as well. I usually order the spicy miso ramen here and it was spicy and very filling!
Limited on seating, but food comes out pretty quick, so definitely come hungry.

I really wanted to love this ramen. We arrived to a tiny, packed restaurant that had a long line. After a short wait we ordered while in line, then we were seated a few minutes later. While waiting a couple that was seated after us received their meals long before our food arrived (we heard them order when they were seated.)
Then our food came. Opted for the traditional chicken ramen. The broth (if you can call it that) was disgusting. Salty, thick, and almost coagulated. Tasted like cream of chicken. Noodles tasted no better than ramen squares from the supermarket. Beyond disappointed.
