So excited about this find. I went it this afternoon for lunch and ordered the Bala Kani sandwich with eggplant and pesto etc. hands down one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. The eggplant was cooked to perfection. The café itself is beautiful rustic interior… I can’t wait to try out the Shakshouka, other dishes and not to mention their coffee.

Excellent almond croissants. I’m not really a dessert person, but their tarts were not too sweet and were delicious. I ended up getting their pastry assortment for the office, and everyone at the office destroyed them in seconds. Great coffee too. I’ll be returning.

Tatte Bakery and Café is located near Kendall Square in Cambridge. Since it was a hot day, I decided to get an unsweetened tea. It tasted like Lipton black tea. I also decided to get a Cherry & Pistachio Tart. I liked how the cookie crust was firm, the content and texture was moist, the tart wasn’t too sweet, and it was dusted with powdered sugar. I highly recommend this tart!

This plaxe is amazing & a dream come true for those with allergies. They have a full ingredient list of most of their items, and were SO helpful with my difficult allergy(soy) even at a really busy time. I had a simple sandwich, their sourdough bread was incredible. Highly recommend and will be back! Their pastries looked amazing :)

Obsessedddd with Tatte! First time I went was the smaller location in Brookline, but came here with a coworker for lunch. Place gets busyyy but the line moved pretty quickly. There’s a ton of options for drinks, pastries, lunch options, and if you come Friday they serve breakfast all day as well. Plus, the place is super cute and French, so if you have the time, it’s nice to relax and eat there to get the full experience. I got a pear tart that was so good I forgot to take a picture. It is a bit pricier but the high quality makes up for that. For lunch I got a croque madame with an over medium egg. Devoured that in a matter of minutes as well. The croissant is crispy, the bechamel had the right consistency, and it was everything I dreamed of and more. Cannot WAIT to come back and try something new!

I had high expectations for a place that claims to be a French bakery/patisserie. However, I was disappointed with the fact that they didn’t have a large selection of treats to choose from. Maybe I set my expectations too high because of my European background, but I would have liked it if their was a wider selection of delights to choose from. I decided to eat a brownie and some cookies on my visit to the Café. Unfortunately, they didn’t taste that great– but maybe that is because I chose the wrong thing from the menu, as I have watched other people really enjoy their treats over there. And can I just say, I don’t really have a sweet tooth so maybe that affected the way I tasted my food. On a positive note, the setting is a beautiful location and the theme that flows throughout the Café is very nice. I would only recommend if you’re looking for a quick treat and if you have a sweet tooth. Thanks.

An Incredible Transformation. I used to only occasionally stop in Tatte for a quick tea/croissant. Past experiences were pretty underwhelming and disappointing. But over the last month I’ve seen a very dramatic improvement. The ambience and even the cleanliness is now beyond reproach. The staff is far more welcoming, accommodating but also extremely efficient. Crunchy Halloumi and Pastilla are a couple of my favorites. I’m now a regular — I need to get my Tatte fix every day. Its hard to believe its the same place that I went to last year.

Great ambience and great food from what I saw. Definitely think this is a great spot to take a date for brunch, but it does get super crowded. My first time there, I actually did takeout, and the food was solid. Got the breakfast sandwich, coffee, and the freshly squeezed orange juice. Eggs cooked perfectly, bread charred to give it great texture, and high quality bacon. Coffee was solid and orange juice unlike any I’ve had. Just wish the food came out a little faster and the price was a little cheaper.

I’m from New York and I visit Boston occasionally. Came here one day with a few friends and ordered their cheesecake and two different tarts. The ambience is homely with their vintage furniture and lighting fixtures. Despite being a tad pricy, their desserts are delicious. This place can get crowded and thus most people take their desserts to go. Tatte puts everything in little boxes if you’re on the go!

In terms of space, this location is much more forgiving than its sister storefront in Brookline. In feral-like fashion, one must«unassumingly» keep tabs on fellow patrons in hopes of claiming their seat. And by unassumingly, I mean beg them for their table as they prepare to leave. Being the glutton that I am, I ordered the Potato and Bacon Shakshuka. Think layered scalloped potatoes and bacon swimming in a sea of cream served right to you in the pan it was cooked in. It’s a bit heavy for brunch, so I’d recommend the traditional version with tomato instead. Heads up: Their Chai lattes are spicy!

This is a fantastic place to get a cheesecake and it’s so light and fluffy that it feels like it has melted in your mouth. Blueberries cheesecake is my favorite!

Not from the area but visiting this area often for work, we came upon Tatte because of Unilocal. Are we glad we did! With European co-workers(expresso and coffee lovers) and Seattle co-workers(Starbucks) we had to find a place that had better coffee than in our hotel. We loved this place! Coffee was wonderful and the food was amazing. We came back every day(two separate trips so far and counting) and had the Avocado Tartine. Sliced avocado, arugula, dill, radish, topped with egg your style, on housemade sourdough bread. I am not sure what oils or seasonings but it was amazing. My first visit I had the Croque Monsieur Housemade croissant, ham, gruyère, Mornay sauce. Good, but the Tartine was better. Large portions for the price(especially since it is in Kendall Square/Cambridge). The last day, we took with us pecan squares to eat on the plane. It was dripping with flavor(not too sweet). I think I made the passenger next to me mad. We will be back next trip and I will continue to update my review.

Call ahead to find out about the soup of the day or to order for pick up. Great food – I love the crunchy halloumi salad. It’s just so yummy with romaine, mint, carrots, radish, and yummy grilled halloumi. I can’t recommend this salad enough! This shop has pastries(brownies, cookies, tarts, croissants, buns), coffee and espresso(Stumptown), yogurt, granola, cakes, soup, sandwiches, platters… All sorts of good things. This shop is beautiful – Wifi, a bunch of tables, bright white, wood, it’s just a beautiful shop and a bit more seating than the one in Beacon Hill, which is nice. There isn’t a great spot to park your car out front to run in and pick up an order, so beware of that and bring a partner to run in while you circle the block. Try them I bet you’ll love them!

I have lunch here once a week, minimum. I don’t plan on stopping, ever. But isn’t this just a bakery and coffee shop? Hell nah. So what do you eat? The balakani. The turkey sandwich. The fattoush salad. The tuna sandwich. They are all awesome. The balakani is a revelation. You’ll never want the fattoush to end. All are filling enough for me. I’m a big boy(6’3″ bro). Every ingredient is high quality — this is a bakery after all so even the bread is choice. The prices really aren’t THAT bad — you aren’t getting any better for $ 12 and below in East Cambridge. Go there. Take it back to your office if it’s crowded. Stop whining.

Finally got a chance to check out this gem. It was quite busy! There are menus available as you walk through the door, and an array of delectable pastries line the counter. We got the pistachio croissant, which was nice and crispy on the outside and plentiful pistachio flavor on the inside. The poached eggs plate was fresh and delicious, and the chai latte was standard. We had to wait a bit for a table but the turnaround time wasn’t too bad. Something usually opens up within a short amount of time ordering, but be warned, you might have to hold onto everything you ordered until that happens. Will definitely be back to try other pastries and dishes. Breakfast served all day and lunch plates start at 11:30.

Went to Tatte because Instagram, of course. Tables are cramped which means that if the couple next to you wants to take a selfie you should ask if they want to take it for you before they drop their phone into your cake… not that I’m speaking from experience, or anything. More relevantly, we ordered a salad, coffee, lemonade and a cinnamon pecan rose. The green and nutty salad is a pretty generous portion, although I didn’t think it had much in the way of toppings. I also found the rose dry, and although there were plenty of chopped pecans, not a lot of swirl.

Beautiful location with very unique décor, much bigger than the other Tatte on Broadway. Great for dates, catching up with a friend or two(not bigger parties), or even doing work if you’re lucky enough to snag an individual table(they have wi-fi but it’s pretty slow, and didn’t see any outlets). Best things I’ve gotten here: 1) Almond milk cappuccino — blew me away. I sprinkled mocha powder on top and was actually in coffee heaven. Would order as a latte in the future(FYI, cappuccinos here are steamed to a much lower temp than lattes) but I’m officially hooked. 2) Nut box — famous for a reason, definitely get it! I had the mixed nuts one, which was phenomenal. Not too sweet, chock-full of fresh, caramelized premium nuts and encased in a flaky, buttery crust — what more can you ask for?

Tatte is a safe bet for great cup of coffee and decent brunch food. Does it live up to the hype and the long lines? Not really. Lines start forming early and people begin to hawk for tables. Food wise, skip the salads– it wasn’t memorable. Their infamous Shakshuka was good(it’s a one skillet dish that consists of poached eggs in a spicy tomato sauce). Desserts, particularly tiramisu, are phenomenal!

My favorite bakery in Cambridge. After coming here numerous times before and after work, here is my low down: GRAB&GO + Muesli cup: This is not your typical yogurt parfait. It has Greek yogurt topped with pears, apples, blackberries, black sesame seeds, honey, and their famous muesli. The ratio of toppings to yogurt in the cup is perfect — your yogurt never gets lonely! + Nut boxes: I love the almond and pistachio nut boxes. I’ve never had anything like this. It’s buttery, soft, and crunchy in a cute little box form. + Pistachio croissant: Out of all of the pastries, this is the best one. The pistachio croissant has a pistachio filling lathered inside each croissant half and you’ll have a flaky mess by the time you’re done eating it. I’ve tried the brioches, ham & cheese croissant, and loaves, but they just don’t compare. DRINKS + Freshly squeezed OJ: You know it’s real. It’s cold. And it’s amazing. + STUMPTOWNCOFFEE BRUNCH + Croque Monsieur: Everything you love about their croissants in meal form. + Tatte’s Breakfast: A full-sized breakfast with all the Greek works — eggs, perfectly toasted challah bread, salad, and dips! ~ Shakshuka: The tomato and bell pepper shakshuka was alright. It tasted like eggs topped with tomato marinara sauce; there was nothing substantial about it. I would definitely try the potato/bacon/cream shakshuka instead. DESSERTS + Cheesecake: A thousand times, yes. This cheesecake is not heavy, and almost tasted like whipped cream. The blueberry and raspberry-topped cakes are divine, and I always try to get this cake for special events! If you order a slice, they give you a monstrous piece. + Chocolate Ganache Mousse: This is heavenly. Just get it. I ordered this for a special event at work and it was gone within minutes. — Chocolate raspberry tart: The shell and chocolate is too hard. I wasn’t a fan of this.
