For almost 40 years, Wally’s Pizza has been the best around with a unique style, fresh ingredients, plus fast and friendly service!

Sure, we’re a pizza place — but our recipe is far from the usual pie and it’s what truly makes Wally’s stand out from the crowd. First, our homemade pizza crust is topped with fresh sauce and baked in the oven. Once the crust is crispy, we add more pizza sauce, our 100% real provolone cheese, and any additional toppings before returning it to the oven. After all of the toppings are cooked, the pizza is brought out of the oven and cut into squares to be sold by the slice or by the pan. Sounds good, right? But what makes it even better is that we use only the freshest available ingredients that are never frozen, grate the 100% real provolone cheese ourselves, and prepare everything from scratch in our own kitchens. This traditional way of making pizza may seem unusual compared to big name pizza chains, but longtime Wally’s customers have said they wouldn’t want it made any other way! Our commitment to quality is something that you can taste in every slice and has even helped us to be named The Best Next Day Pizza by Ohio Magazine.

History

Established in 1978.

Tom & Luella Hanes and family established Wally’s Old Fashion Pizza in 1978. The family had little money at the time but decided to proceed on faith. They had five children ages 8 – 17 and every family member worked in the business. The Hanes family made a commitment to produce traditional old style pizza and make it affordable for customers.

As a result, many friends and a loyal customer base have been built over the years. Today, Tom and Luella still occupy a home directly behind the original location in Cambridge, Ohio and remain actively involved.

One of the best pizza joints in Cambridge! Nothing like most pizza, the cheese and pepperoni aren’t added until after the pizza is baked. Lunch special for 4 slices and a drink for $ 5 is a great value.

As a local, I grew up eating Wally’s pizza and consider it a guilty pleasure. I recommend it the most as a drive through lunch order because their pizza is best eaten fresh and the lunch price is awesome! Not everyone loves their pizza, but I am always tempted to drive through and get a couple slices to eat while on the road. Definitely worth a try! And definitely better than Dominos!

This looked like a local favorite, so I thought I’d give it a whirl.
Well, maybe it’s an acquired taste, but it didn’t resonate well with me. The ingredients were fine, but the pizza seemed odd in terms of how it was assembled — as others have mentioned, it’s more like the toppings are layered, well, on top of the pizza, instead of baked into the sauce and beneath the cheese. That makes the pieces (squares, not triangles) somewhat difficult to handle, since it feels like the toppings are sliding around, er, on top of the pizza. (Okay, so the word «toppings» really applies in this case.)
The sauce was good, as were the ingredients on an individual basis … the sum of the parts just didn’t add up for me.
But it is unique, and if you think the only styles of pizza are New York and Chicago (and Italy), you might want to give it a try.

Great pizza! If you have ever had DiCarlos it’s almost the same thing. Thin crispy crust, strong tomato sauce and partially cooked cheese! Delicious! We would have liked some seating inside to eat at, but enjoyed the picnic tables out front.

Had wallys pizza for dinner & have to say this is by far the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten. The toppings are all low quality, the crust is crap & the sauce is bland.
I would say overall the pizza is bland, but it’s not. It does have taste & it is very bad! Took 2 mints to get the taste out.

I don’t know why people like this pizza. The cheese is barely melted and stringy. The crust is the only saving grace. The sauce is mediocre at most. It’s barely cooked! This is my least favorite pizza in the area.

This pizza has been the same for years and for good reason. They have a lunch special that isn’t bad. And if we are getting pizza this is the one my kids want. You can’t go wrong. It’s made the old fashioned way and it’s great.

Good pizza! We were in town for a wedding and didn’t know where to go, and Wally’s was great. Their pizza is thin crust, and you can buy it by the (square) slice, which is what we did. Tip: after they take the pizza out of the oven, they sprinkle shredded cheese on top so it looks like the cheese isn’t completely melted. But it’s tasty! Service was great and quick, too. Everyone was really nice.

It was my first time to eat there but it won’t be my last. The crust was thin and crispy and my veggie pizza ingredients were plentiful and fresh. The same could be said for the meat lovers pizza. Another plus is that you can get slices (squares) and you don’t have to get an entire huge pizza. My husband and I got three slices each and it was plenty, although it was so good, I wished I had another one.

I think the pizza from Wally’s is probably going to be one of those things in life you either love or leave. They have a unique way of adding ingredients after the pizza has already been cooked, meaning the ingredients don’t really cook into the dough and the cheese is sprinkled on top after that. I purchased a large supreme pizza and found it difficult to eat as everything slid off the dough after picking up a slice due to this cooking method. I was not a huge fan and prefer my ingredients more «well done» than those found at Wally’s.

The best pizza that I have found anywhere. First tried it when my grandmother was living there many years ago. Now any time we travel thru Cambridge, we always stop in for a slice or a tray. We have introduced many of our friends to the pizza and they all agree. Thin crispy crust, sweat sauce, and cheese that is never cooked in the oven only placed on after it is taken from the oven.

This is flat out the best pizza you can find. Anywhere. I kid you not. I grew up on this pizza and every time I go back to Cambridge I make it a point to get a full tray of extra cheese and pepperoni pizza. The pizza is so unique, there’s nothing quite like it. The slices are perfectly square, with a robust helping of sweet sauce and the crust is of a thin variety with the end pieces having nice, doughy (but cooked) crusts for you to nosh on. The pepperoni and cheese is added after the crust and sauce comes out of the oven which allows them to melt in a glorious pile of gooey deliciousness.
You really don’t need to know anything other to order here then simple pepperoni and cheese and, if you’re not watching your cholesterol, add extra cheese! If you do feel the need for something else though they have an incredible italian sub. This place is not only great tasting but it’s very inexpensive. Just a note, be aware that this is a carry-out type restaurant. There’s a couple of chairs and one small table I think but you really just need to get your pizza and get home and enjoy it there… which is probably for the best as you will be stuffing your face with it, LOL!
There can only be one best pizza place in the world and that’s the original Wally’s pizza!

Some of the best most original pizza. I could not find anything like it in cleveland or columbus and have have a lot of pizza places. The owner is a really nice guy as well. Best part is its cheap! They have sheet pizzas too.

What they call pizza is delicious. But it is not pizza, if the sauce and toppings are placed on what looks like one big square bread stick, it is cheesy bread.
