Specialties

Cedar Crest Inn is a modest lodging located on a wooded lot in Camden, Maine offering conveniences you need at a cost you deserve. Cedar Crest is considered a high-end motel located at the southern gateway to Camden on Elm Street; a section of Rt 1. Most guest rooms are situated far enough from the road not to hear the traffic. Request a reservation or take a moment to visit our photo gallery to view some of the photographs taken over the past year and even a few from the past. There is plenty of free parking should you decide to take the 15 minute walk to Camden village. We are just a short distance from harbors filled with both working and pleasure boats setting the scene for picturesque views. Prepare to set sail on a two hour cruise on a schooner or a four day windjammer experience; you’ll be glad you did! Visit Camden Hills State Park and plan a great hike. It is just a few miles away and features 30 miles of hiking trails and panoramic views of the bay.

History

Established in 1929.

Cedar Crest has been operated by just a few families in Camden, Maine since 1929. The partnerships of two local families, the Hahns and the Libertys, purchased the Cedar Crest Motel in the spring of 2000, and have operated it since that time. They have a strong commitment to guest service and to that end, have completed renovations and improvements since the purchase. The restaurant was moved from the basement of Building 1 to the rear of the office in the original Bennet home in 2001. The restaurant expanded again in 2002 serving spirits, fresh seafood platters and live jazz plays every Friday evening. The expansions have proven very successful and the restaurant now serves many wonderful patrons, and both local and traveling guests. In 2007 – 2008 the name was changed to Cedar Crest Inn because the rooms are more reminiscent of a New England inn than a chain motel type room. At the same time, the restaurant gained its own identity by becoming Elm Street Grille.
