History

Established in 1984.

The Hawthorn was built in 1894 by a local commercial and residential builder, S.G. Ritterbush. Mr. Ritterbush built a number of the commercial buildings in the village of Camden as well as in other parts of Midcoast Maine and in New Hampshire. A private home until 1984, the Hawthorn has been operating as an inn for approximately 30 years.

Lisa and Ted W.

Business Owner

Ted and Lisa moved to Maine from Langhorne, PA. Ted has a background in electrical engineering. He worked for many years as a Program Manager, most recently at SRI International. Lisa is Medical Technologist by training and spent most of her professional career doing software test, validation and quality assurance. Her last position was with a specialty pharmaceutical company.
