Came here for a wedding rehearsal dinner. I was told in advance that the chicken is amazing and I concur. What is in that sauce?! I could have licked the plate clean if there wasn’t at least 75 people there that I was going to see for the rest of the weekend!

Had dinner here this evening. Very pleasant atmosphere. The dish I ordered was the Dolphin Fish (Mahi). It had a wonderful sauce served on a bed of rice with a vegetable medley. Absolutely delicious. The ladies eating next to me recommended the asparagus soup. They were raving about it. I would definitelyl go back, but felt like 6.00 for the anorexic piece of cheesecake that I got was awfully high.

This restaurant has consistently amazing food at relatively low prices. Their most expensive entrée is $ 27. They have a nice assortment of dishes that manage to keep European culinary tradition, local cuisine and creativity in balance. The Asparagus soup is amazing, even their basic $ 4 greens salad is delicious, and even the most basic of their entrees, such as chicken breast with mushroom risotto, is nothing short of incredible.
The restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside, and there are times when I am inside that little aspects of the décor remind me that the actual location isn’t that snazzy. But in general they do a commendable job of turning a cement block building into a fine dining establishment. You run into the typical dilemma of small town street front restaurants, a distinct lack of parking.
The lighting and noise levels are perfect and the color choices and abundance of naturally finished wood creates a cozy ambiance. The understated country gentility of the crowd adds to the atmosphere as well. The gorgeous wall paper and cloth hand towels in the bathrooms are an added touch of sophistication. The art and wall décor are a sharp contrast to the overall feel; a mix of Americana, taxidermy and amateur landscapes… it just doesn’t fit. But still, I find the place upscale and relaxing.
The restaurant is divided into two sections, one area to the left that seems to be exclusively used for guests with reservations and an area to the right that includes the bar and two large community tables. The service levels are equally divided. When I have had reservations I have received wonderful service. Without reservations I am lucky if I receive silverware with my meals.
One thing that I really commend them for is keeping the spacing of their tables and over all design of the restaurant set up in such a way that you are not overwhelmed by kitchen racket or the combined noise pollution of 100 just too far away to be understood conversations. Ruth’s Chris, The Melting Pot and High Cotton have all disappointed me in this regard. I find the reservation side dining experience here more akin to The Library, they protect your quiet.
I find the beer selection here disappointing, it is mostly your standard American bar fare with a few interesting selections thrown in for good measure. Their bartenders aren’t very familiar with the more interesting varieties that they carry.
They have a great wine menu if you’re willing to buy by the bottle. Take my advice and just don’t bother buying by the glass. The selection is small, the price is steep and the wine isn’t that good.
In summary:
1. Get a reservation.
2. Dine early to avoid parking difficulties
3. Order a bottle of wine or don’t drink.
4. Skip desert.
You’ll be glad you went, and you’ll go back!!!

I’ve not been here for a regular meal, but went to a private party here that the chef catered.
A few comments on the place:
— Nice open air ambiance with a fun carpeted room in the back.
— Lots of booths for groups getting together to talk, etc.
— The bar is in the front of the restaurant and can manage a good 15 people around it.
— The have Yeungling beer on draft and the tender was really nice
As for the food:
— If they offer you some form of steak thing that’s cut up into small pieces… GET IT. It was, by far, the best thing here
— The shrimps were OK, nothing to write home about. BUT the cocktail sauce was INCREDIBLE. So put that on everything!
— the mini deserts were OK, but nothing special.
Get the steak and the cocktail sauce… yum yum!
