Dave’s Rent-A-Car

I went to Dave’s about a year ago after getting into quite an accident. Daniel spoke with me over the phone numerous times, made me feel absolutely at home, and was able to get me in a brand new car within minutes. I ended up buying the vehicle from Dave’s because of the friendliness, outstanding level of knowledge, and overwhelming sense of care for my situation. Daniel was out for my best interest, not my money. By far, the most pleasant experience with anyone thus far when it comes to car issues.

Recently rented a 2015 Camry that I will end up buying from Dave’s. If you are buying new cars from the dealer then you are doing it wrong. I am still driving my 2007 Corolla that I bought from Dave’s. Anyways besides the unbeatable deals on cars the guys that work there are fantastic. Everyone is super cool from the owner all the way down to the guys that detail the cars. Remember that thing called customer service? Dave’s knows how to take care of you. Great prices, excellent friendly service, and locally owned. Don’t take my word for it. Just call their number and as soon as they answer the phone you will know what I am saying.

Awesome place; best kept secret in today’s car rental industry. I was very surprised and pleased at how easy it was to rent a vehicle (including a last minute change I needed to make to vehicle type), and how different (for the better) they are from everyone else. I decided to try them last week because basically I’ve tried everyone else and knew from past experience what I would be getting. With the other places it was all a matter of how many changes to my trip I’d have to make and how far out of my way I’d have to go as a result of doing business with them, as well as how much I’d have to risk with some of them like Enterprise who will proactively search for opportunities to screw you over. I didn’t want to go through all the crap you have to deal with from the other car rental places, and was very pleased with what I found with Dave’s Rent-​A-​Car. This is my place for now on/​hands down. For you guys (and gal) who works there: good job you’ve earned a new and loyal customer!

Love Dave’s … I showed up yesterday, the second time in a month, to rent a car while my beater (driven by my high school senior son) is being diagnosed with a probably-​fatal condition. I got there 10 minutes before closing, no reservation, and I was out the door in six minutes. Terrific service, friendly, knowledgable … and extra credit because both the young folks at the front desk are Ponderosa HS grads … :)

Best sales experience ever! A friend referred me to Dave’s since I was looking for a newer 4 runner and she saw they had a few. After researching the models I wanted and having a few unfavorable test drives at various Toyota dealerships I stopped by on a whim.
Daniel greeted me and was incredible knowledgable about Toyotas. (Something that was lacking from other sales folks I was dealing with). He informed me they do trade-​ins and he could do the financing through my bank. Talk about a speed of trust transaction. Everything was fair, strait forward and zero pressure, guess that’s why they’ve been around for 20+ years. He said, take it for a few days as a rental. Great idea, I fell in love with it. The whole transaction took 1hr and I’m driving off in my new 2015 4runner Trail Premium… check these guys out you won’t be sorry.

I recently flew into Cameron Park and expected to Über. The Über driver called me and said I was too far away from his location and to try another driver. I could see this was not going to be fruitful. I search for a car rental locations and found Dave’s. I was in a tremendous hurry and they accommodated me to the point where I was driving a impeccably clean Honda within seven minutes to my appointment. Amazing!

What a pleasure to do business with Dave’s! It’s all because of the great attitude and service we received from Daniel at the front desk! What a great guy. He treated us like friends and made the whole experience fun and easy. We will be back. Thanks a bunch.

These guys are great. We rented a car to bring a friend home from the hospital after spinal surgery, our car was too high for him to get into. The experience with Daves was so good we rented another car to take a trip to Fresno, didn’t want to put the miles on my car. Great people here, you can’t beat the service, or prices. I like dealing with real people, an independent company not a cookie cutter corporate place. I highly recommend Daves to all my friends.

Dave and his whole staff are awesome! I’m from the East Bay and I was stranded in Cameron Park over Labor Day weekend due to car issues. Dave had someone pick me up and bring me to his office and I was taken care of in less than 20 mins! If I’m in the area again I would definitely use him again and refer him to my family and friends!

Great customer service.
When enterprise refused to rent to us after 5+ prior years of renting from them, we took a chance and decided to try this place. The rates are comparable to other car rental places, but the customer service is amazing, the employee that helped us (Daniel) was very helpful and professional, he even helped us save some money when we went to return the car. I like renting from this place, they treat me like an actual human being!

I have rented from Dave’s in the past and had a good experience. This time around was not so great. I called to reserve a cargo van to move some boxes out of my storage space and was quoted a rate of $ 63 per day for the weekend. To be fair to Dave’s I did not check the contract that I signed, assuming the rate would be what was quoted. I was quite surprised when I returned the car and was charged $ 227 for the rental (not including the overage charge for mileage). I called Dave’s and they were not at all helpful and claimed that they had quoted me the rate they charged. Please read your contract if you choose to rent from them.

I am editing my review since Dave’s contacted me and adjusted the price to the original quote. It turns out that the over charge was actually a mistake! Dave’s Rent-​A-​Car is a great option with excellent service and– at the end of the day, fair prices!

I rent from Daves at least once a month to commute to San Jose. They have great service and great prices, they also rent RVs which I might take advantage of this summer!

I live locally and needed a car as my daughter accidentally took my keys out of town. It was just closing time when I realized this… called Dave’s, their price was reasonable and the young man waited past closing for me to get the vehicle. Everyone was nice, it was a great experience and I highly recommend them to anyone.

had an excellent experience with Dave. I wanted to pick up my girlfriend from the airport in something stylish and tour through Amador and see my parents. I was initially looking near the airport at hertz and enterprise for a convertible or something fun and was surprised to find that Dave’s was far better price for a far better car, even with hertz having a AAA discount. I got the BMW 335 coupe with AWD for a very competitive price and couldn’t be happier with all the details that made for an all around great experience, both with the car and with the service.
examples were how the car was very clean and felt new (even with 30k). Dave went out of his way to be friendly and though I used a debit card only held reasonable deposit. my insurance transferred over so that kept costs down, and he didn’t try to sell me anything else. I went over the mileage allowance and he didn’t charge me much for it, and I even forgot to fill the tank before returning it and he charged me market value of the fuel (Hertz or enterprise would have reamed me, been there)
was out the door fast and returning it was very quick.
It was overall a very positive experience and would rent with Dave’s again anytime.
Now I want to buy that beamer, it ruined me for my own car :(

My wife and I flew our small plane to Cameron Airpark for the weekend and made arrangements with Dave’s for a rental car.
Very helpful and friendly staff and we were very pleased with the car, the price, and the courtesy extended to us.

Don’t rent from here. We rented a vehicle here and they charged us an extra cleaning fee for pet hair! We don’t even own a pet! The manager said they have photos of pet hair in the truck from when we dropped it off! They wouldn’t refund our money for the extra fee. Horrible customer service.

My car broke down on Hwy 50 and I needed to a rental car to get to Tahoe. Dave’s Rent-​A-​Car was great. The lobby is the nicest I’ve ever been in and the staff was incredibly efficient. No lines. No waiting. I was on the road in 10 mins and the return was just as quick.
