Mike’s Lock Service

I’m new to the area and just purchased a home in which the front door lock had to be replaced. I had a great experience with Mike’s Lock Service — he was really easy to work with, prompt, responsive, reliable, came out to the house and was right on time, had a great attitude, and was professional and affordable.

Despite the other review on here of Mike’s Lock Service, I had a very pleasant experience. I needed to have all my exterior locks (comprising of door handle locks and deadbolts) re-​keyed as the Baldwin Smart Key locks were next to impossible to re-​key and keep from jamming while doing it myself. I had no problems scheduling the appointment and I was given a window of 12−3pm that the technician would show up. The locksmith (Mike) arrived right at noon and got right to work. Mike was very friendly and I could tell right away that he was also very knowledgeable in this line of work. It was also reassuring to hear that he’s been in the business for over 30 years. The job was completed within an hour and all 10 locks worked as I was hoping they would. Total price for the job was less than $ 250. This I thought was reasonable as all 10 locks were re-​keyed and 5 duplicate keys were created onsite. I would definitely use Mike’s Lock Service again and I highly recommend his service to anyone.

Very strange experience with them. On the plus side, they responded very quickly. However, the woman that handles their customers over the phone is incredibly difficult and fairly rude. I couldn’t even get to finalizing my order with these guys before everything fell apart. Hard to hire a locksmith that you can’t trust. Maybe others have had more success.
