They take the time to do it right. They have integrity. What they say is true. They are too busy as a shop to add on work! I’m glad when they have space for me. They don’t do what doesn’t need to be done, but what needs to gets done is done right or they correct it.

Mark and his team at B & J are the best. They do great work and in a timely manner. I will continue to go there as long as they are around.

The staff at B & J are amazing, hands down! My car was there for a WEEK — not because of B & J as the work they were doing on my car only took a day — but because of third party companies messing up. After struggling with getting everything in place, B & J stuck along side of me and did a great job on replacing my 02 Pontiac Grand Am’s dash — they event went the extra mile of cleaning it up and putting a pretty dang good coat of shine on it!
I definitely recommend B & J for anyone’s automotive needs. The staff there honestly looks to help you out.

I’ve known Jake, the owner, for about 25yrs now. The very time I met him, he said something to me that I’d never forget that no other Mechanic has ever said…“I do a honest days work for a honest days pay”, and I’ve been with him ever since. I’ve been a mechanic over the years myself and if I can’t figure out a problem, with the help of a Manual, the Internet and Youtube, I go to B&J and so far, every time, Jake takes a quick look and says here’s your problem. That simple. Then Mark, his business manager says, with OEM or High Quality replace parts, this is what it will cost to repair. And 99% of the time he is right on the mark. So… if you’re looking for a honest days work for a honest days pay… this is where to go. Myself… I’d rather be covered in oil, than covered up with dirt.

Best place for service, mechanics, and getting great advice about cars! I’m a fist time car buyer and I’ll be heading out to college In a few months. Mark and his team checked and solved my check engine light quickly, and eased my anxiety! Be careful for craigslist car sales people, never know if there can be hidden damage inside your car! Great place. My new all time mechanics are here at B&J!

Yes, they are nice, yes, they are fast. I’m just not sure the quality of product is top-​notch. I’ve brought my car in several times for squeaking brakes. 2013 spent $ 600.00 to replace front and rear brakes and needed the rotors turned. 2014 spent $ 200 to do the rotors again which I was told by others is not normal. They said the pads were under warranty since it was less than a year. 2015 brakes squeaking again. B and J said my car is heavy, I may be heavy footed on the brake, or if I take my car up to the mountains. I drive my kids to school, soccer, baseball, repeat. Either the brake pads are cheap, or the rotors aren’t being smoothed correctly creating a warped wear on the pads. In any event, I did not have them work on the rotors again. Three times just made me too suspicious and I’m running out of money. :)

These guys are awesome, my car broke don on the road, I towed it to them close to closing time they got into it right away and made sure it got fixed on time, very much appreciated, then I took the second car after I another shop didn’t know how to fix the problem and they took care of it as well, I highly recommend this place. Took my 07 Camry here after many a Unilocaler says its a winner. They serviced the AC and put some dye in so they can trace it if it leaks out. The price was a little higher than I am used to paying but am satisfied with the work and the way they handled the transaction. I came in and was attended to immediately. They looked at my car straight away and told me they could work on it the next day. The estimate was 130 and the bill was 180. Close enough. When you trouble shoot cars you never know what time it takes. So far so good. Taking my truck there next.
Well it had to happen, the AC stopped working again. I bring it in and Mark the in-​charge person I spoke to says we put dye in it. If its leaking we will know. His staff trouble shoots it and its blowing hot and cold out of left and right? Turns out he resets the computer on day two of working on my car and walla. Everything is back to normal. I get ready for a stiff bill and Mark declines to charge me cuz there’s nothing wrong with it. Computer glitch!
I’m feeling good about this, very good.

Wooow! I had dead battery and need a new one. Called B & J and they said come on in. I kid you not I was out in less then 10 min! New battery, great pricing and super friendly service. John even took they time to teach my son the basics on battery changing. For sure I would come back for any automotive need.

Four new brake pads and two rear rotors for at 2007 Civic, for a fair price, exactly as estimated. They were able to work the same morning that I called. They even picked up and dropped off my car at my office about two miles away.
The new brakes felt different than my old brakes (which I have since learned is normal), so I brought the car back and they flushed and refilled the brake lines for free, just to satisfy me. They care a lot about customer satisfaction.

LOVE this place! It’s so hard to find an honest mechanic, especially as a woman. But I don’t have to worry when I bring my car to B&J. I have never been disappointed, and always feel like I’m given such an honest detail of the work being done.
This most recent trip was just for a check-​up. Turns out, the cheap oil change I had a Jiffy Lube less than a month ago, wasn’t actually a change. Mark let me know that the oil in my car was extremely dirty and didn’t appear to have been changed in a long time. He replaced my oil for free, because I had just had it «changed.»
You can definitely trust that the work being done here is quality, and that they will not rip you off.

I have been taking my vehicles to B&J Automotive for almost 3 years now. Mark and his team are beyond wonderful to work with! It is a known fact that finding a trustworthy mechanic is a difficult task, so when I found B&J I knew right away that I would not need to look for another mechanic again. Great customer service, communication and dependable work. I would (and have) recommend B&J Automotive to all of my friends and family.

It was my first time here and I experienced fantastic customer AND auto service! Ben is a great guy who knows his stuff and is a hard worker who goes the extra mile to make you a truly satisfied customer. He’s knowledgeable, straightforward, and will even take you under the hood to see what’s wrong. The pricing for break services is better than other shops in the area. Ben will take the time to walk to you through your various pricing options.

Took the car for oil change and ended up paying $ 127 for oil change and two filter change. I would not have done this if they gave me the quote before hand. Worst of all my car is undrivable just two weeks after this service and because of stiff steering wheel. I feel this could have been caught if they checked everything as part of the oil change service.

These guys are the reason I decided to finally start writing reviews. I have had numerous amazing experiences and equally as many terrible experiences with various businesses that made me want to come right to Unilocal and let the world know… but these guys finally made me overcome my laziness.
My car died in a parking garage in downtown campbell — I assumed it was the battery and called Mark from B&J. They don’t do service calls, but he volunteered to drive down themselves and jump my car. Shortly after they were there attempting to jump my car… the problem was that it was not the battery. Mark arranged for me to have it towed, brought to his place, had a rental car waiting for me and made the entire (normally hellish) process super easy. My car was ready the next day and he even returned my rental car for me.
If you have any issue with anything car related then call these guys.

Okay so the car situation is turning into a nightmare of epic proportions, we’ve been having to drive it around «at least 700 miles» (according to the dealership’s maintenance department which I finally called to find out wtf was the deal with the smog sensors not gathering enough data to tell the smog checking computer that the car was good to go) And we just found out yesterday the battery was needing washers to stabilize it and the +terminal was jiggling loose and may have reset the computer while we were driving it around all week. (This is not B&J’s fault this was because of new battery boyfriend put in, there were no washers on the old one and new one is slightly different dimensions, and needs washer to keep it steady, whereas the old one was stock and did not)
So the car passed smog on the mechanical end, but because the sensors haven’t held data yet it won’t pass final. Basically to prove to the state of California that the car is environmentally sound, we are having to WASTE GAS…
However, B & J have been pretty decent, it was a little more expensive than we were hoping… but that’s pretty much every car repair for everyone anywhere regardless of who you go to. That’s just car repair. But their customer service was very good, and they did a very thorough job checking my poor car over and fixing everything that was wrong with it. He even noticed the battery cable was loose and tightened it up, but we both assumed it was just because BF hadn’t had the right torque available, tool wise, when putting the new battery in the day before we took it over, the problem really is literally the size of a washer and the vibration of the car.
I recommend them, they were very helpful and got my car running again (after it had been stored and not running for 6 years) in one day. DEFINITELY call and make an appointment first, their awesomeness has resulted in a long wait if you don’t have an appointment, but if your car CAN be fixed, these guys will fix it. Plus they answered all my questions, explained everything to me, and there was none of that «‘Talking to Girl’ Mode» crap you get from some other mechanics.

Mark and his team have been working on our cars for years now. Do we spend a lot of money there? Yes. Would we spend more elsewhere? Definitely.
I know everybody has their favorite, but I consider Mark to be one of the last honest mechanics in America. He’ll tell you what’s wrong, he’ll show you why it costs what it costs, he’ll work with you on pricing and even tell you what you need to do now and what can wait until next paycheck. He will also hook you up with discount rates for smog checks, alignments and rental cars.
Dear neat freaks: Don’t be concerned with the messy office, it doesn’t reflect on the quality of the work. A clean desk is the sign of a sick mind. :-)
Honestly, I can’t recommend him strongly enough. Go. You’ll be pleased.

So there I am stuck at the PruneYard with a dirty cheatin car battery.
I always replace them and usually they start acting up a bit before
they just die. Okay I opened my hood… nothing…then I looked for a mobile
mechanic…nothing…then I plugged battery mechanic into Unilocal and I see B & J Automotive and it’s less than a mile. I throw a Hail Mary Unilocal to Mark over at B& J and he says «let me see who I can send over.» I’ll call you back. Now my cell phone is running out of juice but he does call me back. He does send someone over! He starts the car in less than five minutes. My hood was already up. I follow him back. Another five minutes. While I talk to Mark the battery is replaced and I would say I spent less than fifteen minutes there. Saved by the Unilocal and B & J Automotive in under an hour and in unknown territory. Thanks!
