We have had a serious bed bug problem at a group home in San Jose. We tried to take care of it ourselves which was a big mistake and cost us much more money in the long run. We have been using Bay-​Valley and they are extremely responsive. They have really taken ownership of the problem and are doing excellent follow through. When we purchase new beds they come out and treat them before they enter the home. They take a lot of time to explain the life cycle of the insect and how their treatment works. I’m very impressed with this service.

I had three visits over 3 months from 3 different technicians. All 3 were very thorough, knowledgable, personable, and trustworthy. Even when I called to cancel the service after the required 3 visits, that process was handled very professionally. Highly recommend!

Great customer service. Fair prices. Always returns phone calls. They have a good yearly program and come out when needed, sometimes at no cost to us. I highly recommend them. They didn’t try to upsale us on anything we didn’t need or ask for.

We rent our house and have been having an ongoing problem with both American and Oriental cockroaches. So gross! What has been an annoying and uncomfortable situation has been made slightly great by meeting two great technicians from this company. I have been incredibly impressed with Ron and his ability to try and solve the problem thoroughly while also having great conversation and taking in the best interest for our family! I have a new baby and a dog and he made sure to prepare a peppermint and rosemary pesticide that wouldn’t be harmful for either! He also did a very thorough job spraying every crack, nook, and cranny. In addition, he inspected our bathrooms and put a foam sealant under the sink to hopefully stop them from coming in. I really appreciated his help, along with some baby talk :-).
Next, Todd came and went above and beyond to mix up a special «Todd» batch of pesticide to hopefully keep the roaches away, which we haven’t seen in our house since! My dog also happened to break the gate while he was here, and he amazingly repaired it for us free of charge… such a handy guy! He also put a couple of roach bait traps as an extra touch in the garage, which hadn’t been done before. I really appreciated all of his knowledge and extra help! He was very straightforward and thorough.
I highly recommend Bay Valley Pest Control. Bugs really gross me out, and I have only dealt with amazing technicians and customer service. Thank you Ron and Todd!

I am a seasoned gardener and I thoroughly enjoy keeping my yard tidy with plenty of fruits, vegetables and flowers. I also like a clean «bug and rodent free» home environment. I learned to appreciate the value of paying for a «pest-​control» company many years ago, and was lucky enough to find Bay Valley Pest, back in 1994.
Since that time (20 years+), Bay Valley has consistently and courteously provided service to my family on a variety of needs. Ants, earwigs and silver fish — haven’t seen them for years.
With rodents, Bay Valley will take care of the immediate problem, but will also advise the home owner on issues that allow rodents to arrive and thrive such as having easy access to bird seed or dog food. When I see the comments related to this particular problem, either the customer did not give Bay Valley a chance to remedy it or they did not follow the additional advice.
On a more unique matter which prompted me to write this review in the first place, there was a swarm of bees in my backyard, as reported by my gardener, and I was alarmed by his story. I double checked to make sure they were honey bees, not wasps, and the gardener was sure they were honey bees.
The first thing I did, was call Bay Valley Pest. They connected me with a wonderful honey bee expert, Deb. Deb said there may be a number of scenarios for such a swarm, and asked if she could come out to my house to investigate in the next 30 minutes. After her inspection, she determined that a honey bee colony «set-​up operations» in a dying willow tree in my backyard several months ago.
Deb gave me several options for safe removal of the colony, and once I decided on a course of action, she diligently went to work. Bee removal is not something done quickly, and seems to have several stages which can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
Long story short, one of the options was to retain the bees on my property in organized hives that Deb sets up and maintains. The payback will come every several months when the honey is ready to be harvested.
Bottom line, if you’re looking for a fantastic, resourceful «pest control» company, I highly recommend Bay Valley Pest. With Bay Valley, I have a specialized set of experts that know what to do no matter what my «pest» problem may be!

About a month ago, I found quite many tiny flies flying and then died closer to our window area in our living room. Then I called Bay-​Valley Pest Control and they asked me to send them some photos via email. Several hours after I sent out my email, I got a long email with more than 800 words. They explained in details what those tiny flies were (Gnats) and the potential reasons why we were having them. Their timely email helped my husband and I figure out and then solve our problem quickly. I did not pay anything and they simply offered me free email consulting services. I really appreciate Bay-​Valley Pest Control. They are there to help people with their knowledge and their expertise and they are very professional. By the way, the lady who sent me emails, her name is Mary.

I used Bay Valley to get rid of my rat infestation — yuk! Bay-​Valley did a great job — no more critters!!! I would use their service again.

I move around alot but every time I move in somewhere I call up the guys at bay valley to inspect and spray my house before I move !!! they are the best!

I used their service to get rid of rat problem a few months ago. The customer service was great, inspection and killing rats was good, but they did not complete the job by removing the dead rats, and did a half ass job of making the house rodent proof.
I described the problem to Mary (?) on the phone, she asked a few questions and identified that it was likely rat’s movement in the crawl space. She was able to send out someone in a day, which was great. The service guy, Ron, looked around the house. He was friendly and quite knowledgeable about what he was looking for although he was a bit talkative. He was certain it was rat after looking around the house and placed some bait right below the crawl space entrance. After about 10 days I called them and let them know there was no longer noise coming from under the ground. Ron came to check and secured the access points to the house. I was not there at the time. My tenant asked him to check the crawl space to see if there were any dead rats. He insisted that all rats must have been dead outside somewhere and refused to check the crawl space.
A few weeks later, I had another contractor check the crawl space for a different matter, and he found two dead rats in the crawl space, not far from the crawl space entrance!
Bay Valley charged $ 120 for making the house rodent proof. What they did was very minimal — spraying some foam onto two of vents. They did not replace any old and weak vent screen. There was an obvious gap between air condition pipe and mesh screen that they did not secure.

I didn’t have the best experience with the tech. that showed up, but I have to say in terms of customer service this is an excellent place. Mary (owner) reached out to me and set things straight. I won’t hesitate to reach out to these guys again if I run into any rodent issues. Customer service this good is a rare thing to experience these days. At the end of the day I am more than satisfied with how my case was handled. You can’t go wrong with Bay Valley Pest Control. 5 stars.

Called them this morning to see whether they can inspect my house to see what the bugs running around the house were and where they were coming from.
They asked me to send a picture of the bug and identified the bug from the picture and told me how to get rid of it.
I liked the fact that they were honest and tried to help me instead of sending someone over to inspect and charge me for something I could have done.

Based on the good reviews, my expectations were pretty high when I called them. Well they topped my expectations!
I called them yesterday with a growing incidence of something running around in the attic, Rodents were suspected. Lady on the phone was very friendly and helpful. She asked about the details of the house and told me that with my curve-​tiled roof, it will be difficult to completely eliminate the problem. They can fix broken screens and other access issues into the crawl space, but they cannot fix roof problems. They can identify the access points, but I will need to call a roofer to fix them. Also with tiled roof, it is not possible to completely eliminate access points in under the tiles. So the only solution is to bait regularly. Their solution will be to bait the rats with a slow kill poison which makes the rats thirsty and has to go out to look for water. She said they often find the dead rat by a garden hose. She gave me a tentative quote for the inspection+baiting and gave me an appointment the next day.
Jeff showed up the next day right on time. He was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We walked around the house together. He pointed out droppings and showed me which are rats and which are squirrel. He identified 2 possible access points in the crawl space vents plus 4 locations on the gutter where rats were crawling over to get under the roof tiles. Apparently the rats leave a brown spot on the lip of the gutter from their body oil. Once you know what to look for, it is easy to spot them. The rats can scale the stucco wall easily and climb over the gutter. That was news to me. He also pointed out all the gaps in the roof tiles and explained that it is close to impossible to completely close off all the gaps. Besides, it will not be cheap. So the only solution is to bait them with poison on an ongoing basis. He said that once the rats are under the roof tiles, it is easy for them to chew through the plywood and get into the attic. So I need to set bait in the attic as well.
He said since they do not have a complete solution that they can offer, he felt bad to charge me to set the bait one time. He taught me what bait to buy and how to set them, and left without charging me at all. I have never seen such honesty and helpfulness in a service company.

GREAT SERVICE! I had these guys come out to spray for oriental roaches, Ive met with 2 different people and they were the sweetest! Both men explained so much about their products and educated me on the differences of the types of roaches. I have had to call the company once with random questions & the lady who answers is just as great! I am beyond pleased with this company. They make you feel comfortable & do their absolute best to make sure you are satisfied! If you need this service, go through Bay Valley Pest Control! Awesome company!

Great customer service!
We called Bay Valley pest control to ask them if we could bring in some bugs that seem to be «infesting» our place but was not a big problem yet. They said, sure bring them in and make sure to bring in bug samples that are not smashed/​crushed. So we brought them in to their store a few hours later to have them look at it. Upon first inspection Mary, who also helped us on the phone, said it seemed like nothing to worry about. Just something about this year where it was dryer so bugs are entering people’s houses in search of food/​water. She asked us questions like if we lived by an area with big land of just dirt and we said we did. She first identified them through a several different magnifying glasses as… unfortunately I forget the name of the bug, and said it was nothing to worry about most likely. But just to make sure she wanted to verify it with a second opinion/​expert (I’m guessing someone else that works at this company). So we left the bugs with them. She said she would call me back once she talked with him. And guess what, she called me the next morning! With a very detailed explanation of what to do if they come back and about how it may be because of potted plants outside the house.
To reemphasize, great service! If we have other bug problems, we will definitely be coming back! Also they/​Mary did not charge us anything to inspect the bugs for us. What more can you ask for from a free service of just inspecting the bugs!
Also I did not give them 5 stars only because we did not have them actually come and help with the bug problems, but from how they helped us, I’m sure they will do a great job! Will update in the future if I ever have them with pest control in our place.

Had Bay Valley come out to a rental property today for Oriental roaches. Jake was very thorough and explained in detail what he was doing. Taking into consideration there were animals in the house. Tanya in the office was very helpful in deciding which plan I needed.
I randomly called 5 companies, and they were the only ones that picked up the phone.
I will definitely use them again.

I have an oriental roach problem in the yard and the bugs seemed to be multiplying and getting bigger. I was really worried that they will start coming indoors so I hired Bay-​Valley after reading online reviews and leaving voice-​mails for some other companies. Tanya was easy to reach on the phone and was very helpful. I was worried about using toxins because I have two small dogs, and I have other small dogs visiting us often. Jake came and explained how he was going to spray, etc., and what to expect in the following days. He did say that after being sprayed a number of things can happen with the roaches, that it’s possible they could come inside running from the poison. However, that didn’t happen. The next day, There were maybe 15 dead and dying roaches in the yard. The following day, maybe about 6. This morning there were 2. None of the bugs have come inside, which is a huge relief for me. Now when I turn on the porch light to let the dogs out at night, I don’t see any roaches, which is a relief.
I am still concerned about what the chemicals might do in the long term, so I don’t let the dogs go near the treated areas and I’m monitoring them closely. For now, I’m happy to have less roaches, as I’m sure they would have found their way in if it wasn’t for pest control.

I left a VM inquiring about their service to remove wasp/​bees from roof tiles. Mary called me back about an hour later with some questions. She said they normally spray and dust the roof tiles. I asked about nest removal from the roof and she said she would check and get back to me. She called me back about 30 minutes later saying they cannot go onto the roof.
I thanked her for her great customer service even though I did not become a customer.

Worst service ever!
Todd, the technician that came by, twice, was extremely rude.
I called the office and talked to Mary, the manager, to mention to them that the service was horrible to which they hung up the phone on me.
Do not deal with this awful company unless you want a big headache.
I read some of the other reviews and they have to be shills way to much fake details. Also, they are all phone calls, reviews on phone calls?
Beware, they are horrible.

The service was so bad that the «facilities escort» was there to baby sit the «technician». They always have a «facilities escort» on hand to make sure the work is done. When there isn’t a «facilities escort» the Bay-​View pest control workers just slack off.
To complete the «small repair» it took three visits which was ridiculous. «Todd» was the most ignorant worker I ever had to deal with and they sent him twice! He was unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. If you ever get «Todd» coming around send him away!
We have small children and «Todd» the rodent catcher said he didn’t have any mouse traps but he was going to leave a rat trap to catch a mouse. That thing was huge. No way a mouse was going to be caught in it. Also, it looked too dangerous, as this was unacceptable to me as I didn’t want to take a chance of my child sticking his little hand in anything that could cause severe damage. I told him come back with a proper trap.
I just went ahead and got some child friendly traps to catch the mouse as «Todd» wouldn’t know what to do anyway.
I called the office without permission? What is that all about? I live in the house and it’s not my business? Mary, you have a lot of nerve.
You are a very very bad company and the only reason you have been around for so long is complacence. I hope to get you fired.

«This a tenant of a Property Management Company we have worked for 13 years. The tenant did not hire our company. The Property Manager had verbally requested the tenant to leave our technician alone to complete a small repair. Our second trip out was with a facilities escort to try to keep the tenant away from our technician. The tenant (without permission) began calling our office. Sometimes no matter how hard you try you just cannot disengage a person getting involved in a service that is not his business.»

I’ve been having them come out every other month to spray for spiders for a year, but I plan on stopping service now that my year contract is up. They’ve been fine to communicate with over the phone, and the treatments MIGHT be helping… it’s really hard to tell, since I still find a spider inside every once in awhile, and have seen some monsters outside, while before they came I did get a couple monsters inside, but the difference in the frequency is so small it could be from the treatments or it could be just coincidence.
Anyway, the main issue I have is that the guy who comes out never attempts to see if I’m home so he can come through and spray on the patio. I have caught him a couple times and had him do it, because they’ve told me if I’m home that they’ll do that, since it’s a big area that’s probably more or as effective to spray as getting the areas around the outside. 4 out of the 5 times they’ve been out after the initial treatment (where I had to meet with the guy), I’ve gone out the door on my way to work and found a tag hanging on the knob with the bill saying he’s already been there that morning. All he had to do was knock or ring the bell and I’d have let him in.
One of the mornings while I was getting ready, I kept checking out the window for his truck, because he always seems to come around that time, and I wanted to be sure to catch him so he could spray the patio. No more than 5 minutes would pass between each time I looked, and so I was pretty bummed when I looked out only to see his truck pulling out the drive way.
The couple times that I have got him to come inside (the first treatment, where you’re required to be there, and another time, when I was able to catch him), I was a little discouraged that the entire job took him 1 to 2 minutes. I know it’s not supposed to take a long time just to spray some chemicals around the place, and perhaps he’s being as effective as he needs to be, but it just doesn’t seem worth it to pay $ 82 for 2 minutes of work. I think I’ll save myself some cash and just get the chemicals + sprayer and do it myself if that’s all it takes.
I was even told when I scheduled today’s treatment that they wouldn’t be able to do it until the afternoon, so I didn’t make any effort to keep a look out while I was getting ready for work. Of course, when I opened the door to leave around 8:45, the bill’s already hanging there.
Maybe he’s knocking and I don’t hear it, but there is a bell that he’s not ringing because I’d definitely hear that. It would be a big improvement if they simply took my phone number and had the guy call me when he gets there, so I can either let him in or tell him I’m not there. At least then I’d know what time he’s there. And also giving me an hour window when he plans to come, say a day in advance would be good too. Then I could decide whether or not I want to try to be there.
