One star is plenty.
After 4 days of the Caterpillar class, we pulled our 2.5 YO daughter out of this school. The stories we got didn’t match what was written in her folder about her daily activities. For example the report would say that she didn’t like her lunch and didn’t eat it, the afternoon teacher would tell me my daughter ate most of her food; but when I checked her Tupperware at home it was full as If it were never touched. This happened twice. Another example is when the afternoon teacher would tell me that my daughter (who is potty trained) had an accident everyday because her clothes got in the potty during potty time; but the report would say that my daughter had an accident on her way to the bathroom. It seemed that the morning and evening teacher didn’t communicate.
I didn’t mind that my daughter didn’t eat her lunch those days, I didn’t mind that she didn’t nap, I didn’t mind that her clothes got wet or even that she had potty accidents… This happens as part of getting used to a new daycare. However I DID MIND the lies I was told.
After 4 days, my motherly instincts told me not to trust these teachers.
The fact that the school director never called us to understand why we stopped sending our daughter there tells us that she doesn’t truly care about feedback and improvements. Instead she took the time to write a nice defensive letter.
Advise to H&H, spend money on hiring professional teachers who are honest and passionate about their job. Value feedback because that’s the first step to improvements.

My daughter has been coming here since July 2014 and as first time parents and not having family around to help watch your child it can be scary when looking for help. But after searching we came across H&H preschool and we could not be more happy. They really do a great job taking care of our daughter and making sure she grows mentally as well. We have seen her grow so much and couldn’t be more proud of the decision we made by choosing our daughter to attend school here. Thank you to the H&H staff youre awesome!!!

I shopped around for Christian daycares closest to my work I had decided on Hearts and Hands in San Jose because of the location and I wanted a school like setting with some academics to keep my 2 year old busy, entertained, and happy. I spoke with ms Deanna at first through email she asked us to come by for a tour. I had emailed her about the latest time to come in and well she never did get back to me, that school must be real busy because I was put on a waiting list when she did email me back a week later and it seems like it’s a long wait but I must say I couldn’t be happier with H&H here in Campbell. My son is happy to go here and there are some days that he does not want to leave which is a good sign and peace of mind for me. I love Miss Erika shes my sons teacher, she’s so wonderful and nice, my son is comfortable around her and she always fills me in on his days and I love hearing how well my son behaves and listens:) makes me feel real proud. I must be doing something right!!:) so the only reason why I gave Hearts and Hands 4 stars:(I don’t like that when my son fell and busted his lip at first I was called at work and was informed that another classmate had pushed him. Then when I picked him up and asked how were they going to prevent this from happening again I was told that perhaps when I was called and what had happened wasn’t quite that way and that my son and his classmate were both running and the other classmate accidentally pushed him so I never got the actual story, I was also told that his teacher saw the whole thing but when I asked her she said she was inside changing another classmate and didn’t see kind of confused me a bit, but I am sure they do there best to keep kids from injuring themselves. Don’t get me wrong I know kids are always gonna play and sometimes that leads to one of them falling and that makes kids be kids I know of 3 boys that attend there that are not what I call well natured and are a bit rough and I hope they are being watched like Hawks so that the rest of the kids don’t come home with ouchies. That’s pretty much it. motherly instinct is spot on (over protective) if I had a bad feeling about this place I’d start looking for another daycare. I love this place all the teachers there are real sweet and loving! I recommend giving this wonderful place a try.
