Great staff, great ethics and super dedicated and knowledgeable about their skill. Office is up to date with the latest equipment and very clean.
Whether its the hygienists (who all make you feel relaxed and try to accommodate your needs or concerns) or Dr Kanon herself who never pushes unneeded dental work on you but sincerely tells the facts and moreover her concerns based on years and years of full-​time practice.
Don’t miss a scheduled visit or else;-) ., but this is not really that hard because they have an automated email reminder service that starts reminding you that you have a upcoming appointment. And if your sick just call and re-​schedule, they don’t want you there anymore than you want to go.
I split my time between the Bay Area and Northern Nevada Area and I still haven’t found another dental group as good as the one Dr. Kanon has put together

I’ve been living in the Bay Area for almost 2 years now, but I would always go back to my family dentist to get work done. It’s always really hard to find a good dentist, and I was apprehensive about trying out a new one, but I’m glad I did.
Dr. Kanon’s office is very simple but welcoming and friendly. During my first visit, I was pleased to see that it was very hygienic compared to other offices I’ve seen. From my visits I’ve noticed that the staff is very thorough and deeply committed to educating their patients and explaining the procedure every step of the way. I learned things in a few sessions that I had never know because no other dentist or hygienist felt it was important to tell me. That’s one of the most valuable things to me.
Since last December, I’ve had my regular checkup there. I’ve also had X-​rays taken and a deep cleaning. I was a little apprehensive about the deep cleaning as I’d never had one before, but Ginette, the dental hygienist, made it a very comfortable experience. She was really good with details and you can tell she really cares about doing a good job. She also had good stories to tell, which is a plus for me :).
It took me a year and a half to find the best dental office in the area, but I’m glad I finally found it! I would definitely recommend this to people who are looking to try a new dentist.

Staff is very friendly. Office is clean. Their equipment is new and functional (except one of the arm holders). Dr. Kanon knows what she is doing.

I feel bad leaving a 3 star review for Dr. Kanon, but feel that the rating is justified.
Good — Dr. Kanon is exceptionally kind, considerate, gentle and conservative. I felt NO pain during any of my procedures and she went out of her way to make me comfortable. I appreciate the fact that she didn’t push any unnecessary treatments on me and took a conservative approach to my dental care, always involving me in the decision making process.
Bad — When my tooth chipped, Dr. Kanon bonded it and although it looked beautiful, the bonding fell off within a few months. It is supposed to last 2 – 10 years. Just to give you a frame of reference, the bonding that my previous dentist did has lasted 14 years and is still going strong! The worst part about it is that after Dr. Kanon fixed the bonding that fell off within a few months, her office tried to re-​bill the insurance and then sent me a bill as well. Her office manager was trying to collect both from both Delta Dental and myself, when she was required to fix her work at no extra charge. I contacted Delta Dental who sent both Dr. Kanon and myself a letter stating that she violated the terms of her contract and was incorrectly trying to collect from me, the patient and from them since, for that particular procedure, she was required to «guarantee» her work for a minimum of 2 years.
My crown had to be fixed over the course of 4 visits, mostly because the lab kept sending the wrong product? My husband’s filling fell out after several months and Dr. Kanon had to replace it. The receptionist was not very professional.
I agree with the other Unilocaler that if you only need cleanings and x-​rays, this is a great place to come. I very much like Dr. Kanon personally, but I ended up needing to find another dentist.

I go there for cleaning and the hygienist is great over there. I missed a couple of appt with them and now they require a few hundred dollars for a cleaning. I’ve been going there for years and I guess they’re not making any money from me so hence the deposit. It’s a way to kick me out of their office for not being profitable for them. one star for being too profit oriented and not rewarding a long timer patient.

Have been to her office in the past and was satisfied– my reason for the 1 star is the attitude of her office staff– i scheduled appointment with the dr. — went in and the hygienist started working — i was assuming that she was prepping for the dr.- i asked her about Dr. kannon and only than she said that she was sick and not coming in for three days (scheduled appoint. 3 days earlier!) — i politely said that the office should have called and told me as i had specifically told them that i needed the teeth to be checked by the Dr. and had taken the day off for this – well the hygienist starting talking back VERY rudely and another office person also came in and was even ruder than her– NO apologies — very rude office staff !!

Well, I didn’t even get a chance to be seen! If you are a busy person and need a flexible office, this is not the place for you!
I had to reschedule an appointment today, mind you that 3 of us would be seen. Two out of the three would see the dentist. And, yes, I had to reschedule one before but you would think Denise would have informed me of their cancellation policy the first time. Nope.
Today, Denise said there was a 48 hour cancellation policy. Interesting, when I asked if she told me that or sent me something in the mail to inform me of their 48 hour cancellation, she said no.
I asked her to ask the dentist if she wanted to see the two kids and I’d reschedule, nope she said there is a 48 hour cancellation policy.
BEWARE! To me it is unreasonable to hold someone accountable for not knowing their cancellation policy! I guess they don’t need the business.

Dr. Kanon is the best. Very friendly staff and such a relaxing environment. I am not a dentist-​phobe necessarily but I have never particularly enjoyed going to the dentist in the past. Now that I found Dr. Kanon, I almost look forward to my cleanings.
I think the staff’s philosophy is to teach patients as they do the work. They show me the x-​rays, explain the procedures, tell me all my options, and teach me specifics on how to better take care of my teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Kanon.

Honestly Dr. Kanon is the best dentist I have ever had. My family and I have been going to her for several years now and agree that she far exceeds prior dentists. She is gentle, thorough, and explains every option for her patients. She is also always up to date in the latest dental practices.
Last but not least her office staff and hygienists are also fabulous! I highly recommend Dr. Hilda Kanon & staff!

Dr Kanon is great!!! I have been a patient for 4 years and every interaction I have had with her and her staff has been superb. I appreciate that the office runs on time, if I have a 2pm appointment, I am confident I will not be waiting until 2:30 — it will be on time. I plan to visit Dr Kanon for my dental needs as long as I live in the Bay Area.
