His reasons for rooting his career here are the same for what brought him in on his first day — exceptional products and customers. Phil only selects the highest quality home and hearth options to offer his valued customers and takes great pride in his downtown shop location. Having grown up in Los Gatos, and as a resident of Campbell, he understands the needs of his customers and their homes. What an awesome place. Friends bought me a brand new fireplace (gas) for Christmas. Phil came and installed it, gave me instructions on the pilot light and remote, and also talked to me about the guarantee on the logs/​equipment/​etc. I’m so happy my old, wood-​burning fireplace is now converted. It’s easy to use, beautiful, fast, and leaves no ash!
I will be contacting them for my built-​in outdoor firepit soon!

My partner and I were looking for a fire pit to be the focal point of our back yard and were also interested in converting our wood burning fire place to gas logs. We happened upon house if brass while waiting in a table at an adjacent restaurant and fell in love with both the products and with Mark. After a month or so we decided to have them build us a custom table with a gorgeous copper top faced with reclaimed wood. Todd built our table and from the very beginning understood our vision and executed it brilliantly. Mark, Todd and Phil could not be more professional or more of a delight to work with. They were in constant communication with us and we’re more than accommodating with scheduling delivery and installation. Not only that, but after delivery of the fire pit we determined that it was way too tall for our furniture and immediately they came out to the house and painstakingly disassembled the table and corrected the problem. It is a testimony to how a business should be run and showed us that they value their customers happiness with their purchase. We have a custom work of art thanks to the craftsmanship and passion of the crew at House of Brass. If I could give them 10 stars it would not be enough! Thank you gentlemen for this amazing centerpiece!

After fooling around with several fireplace shops, I ordered a fireplace door from House of Brass. The door came in about 6 weeks as Phil said and he quickly made an appointment to install it.
There was a minor issue. Phil came back and handled it totally to my satisfaction. Give them your business if you need fireplace stuff.

Such a fun place to shop. They have high end products to match most tastes. We bought a fireplace screen and gas log set and Phil came to the house to install it. We recommend giving them a look if you are in the market for knobs, pulls, fireplace accessories and now barbecues and fire pits.

Marc helped us to expeditiously get the correct size logs for our gas fireplace. He called when he was certain the warehouse had them and again when they arrived. Really, at the end of the day, great customer service and fast quality products at fair market prices is all anyone wants from any retail establishment. They had a nice variety of modern fireplaces and inserts as well. Thank you Marc!

Wonderful experience doing business with House of Brass. I picked out a gas log set and had it installed in time before Thanksgiving. Phil installed the set just two days after set arrived. There store is very nice with many excellent choices for fireplace design and hardware. We will go back again to pick out doors. Very professional and friendly staff. Phil came after hours to install, which I really appreciate. Nice to do business with locals. Highly recommend.

This was our first time time doing business with House of Brass, but I’m sure it’s not our last. They had a nice display of the mailboxes we were looking for, took lots of time explaining our choices and answering our questions.
Phil called and set up a time for installation, he was prompt, polite and friendly and my new mailbox looks great.

I went here twice looking for a way to convert my outdoor grill into an outdoor firepit. Both men that helped me, Marc and Phil, were great. I was given an economical way to convert it in stages, which is exactly what I was looking for. The deal I got was by far the best, I didn’t feel pressured to buy things I didn’t need, and they spent time with me. They both proved that customer service is still alive and well. I would highly recommend this place. While I was there, two other customers came in who were obviously regulars and were also well taken care of.

I am surprised to hear the negative reviews about lack of follow-​up calls, or long delivery. I had the opposite experience this summer.
We recently rebuilt our home, and I truly wish I’d found the House of Brass much earlier in our buildling phase.
We needed everything — door knobs, pulls, entry, doorbell… I found the HofB, though, because Blaine Lighting in S’vale recommended them for a light fixture I needed made.
Although they couldn’t help me in that area (he used to do custom lighting work, but now as a 1 – 2 man shop, he hasn’t got the time — custom lighting/​wiring is very time consuming and in my opinion, can’t be very gratifying!) I truly wish I’d ordered far more of purchases from this shop, their prices are competitive if not (way) better than the willow glen/​saratoga stores i’d been shopping at.
They are knowledgeable, kind, courteous, and my phone calls-​communications with them were super timely. I never had to call them to say «where and when?!».
They even gave me a loaner doorbell so we could pass an inspection where every little electrical thing has to be installed or we’d fail…
I’m a big fan of this local shop and fully intend to find reasons to use them again!

I ordered glass for our fire place six weeks ago. I’ve received no call with a status and when I called House of Brass the sales person I spoke to said he might have time to call the manufacturer and get back with me. I’d read some negative reviews on Unilocal about delivery time, and now I see why. I guess once they had my $ 500 deposit in hand, they really don’t have an interest in delivering. So, 4 –6 weeks is now six solid weeks with no promise of delivery. I think that’s poor service.

House of brass delivers again!
I ordered new hardware for my kitchen remodel. The selection at House of Brass was great and Phil helped me pick out the style that would go well with what I had installed. he suggested I do the other door hardware in the hallway and downstairs in a certain style too.
Last week, the new hardware was installed and it looks AWESOME! It was delivered on time and for a small fee, Phil came out and did the install as well.
I can’t say enough good things about this place!

I ordered an insert for our mail and got nothing but a runaround from Phil.
After about 4 weeks of waiting for our order to some in from the vendor I called Phil and he said he would contact the vendor to check on delivery and get back to me. A week later we didn’t hear anything so we called him. And he said the vendor was waiting to ship it with other stuff. So a couple weeks later after hearing nothing from Phil I called again… and got the same routine and no call back from Phil.
I called again and he assured me it we be in his store the following week. At the end of the week I called and it was not in yet but I was assured it would be in next Tuesday’s ship. After not hearing from Phil on by Wednesday I called and spoke to another person who was very but still no insert.
I finally spoke to Phil again and cancelled my order.
I can understand the issues with the vendor but I am appalled at the lack of communication and customer service from Phil.
I will never shop at House of Brass again and will recommend to all my friends do the same.

I’ve been putting off writing this review. I really wanted this to work out. On June 8, I ordered an address plaque from HOB. A few weeks went by, and I called to find out when I might get it. They said, «one week.» That seemed fine. I waited 2 weeks. I called again. Again, they said, «one week.» I waited 3 weeks. I called again. They said, «this time, no BS, they’d get back to me tomorrow.» Gee, thank you sir, for omitting the BS this time. I waited 5 days. I called again. Finally, they confessed that they hadn’t paid their supplier, so my address plaque was complete, but being held ransom at the supplier. They refunded my money and said that they would call me when the plaque arrived. It’s now October and I still have not heard from them.
So many fails: 1) Never reaching out to their customer, 2) BSing their customer and 3) Never getting the customer what they wanted.

Phil is great. We purchased our mailbox, front door handle and a few other random things like a bottle opener and outdoor thermometer which we had treated. Phil came out to install the Box, was fast and cleaned up after himself. I’m very satisfied with the experience and will go back when we need cabinet door handles.
