Josephine Harmon Fine Makeup Artistry

I had Josephine do my wedding makeup in June. She did an excellent job. She is very responsible and professional. She responds to emails quickly with her clients, she arrived on time for the trial and wedding date, and she is very friendly. The most important thing is that her makeup skills are amazing. You can tell that you are wearing make up yet it looks very natural. A lot of the products that she uses are from NARS and MAC. She also has a machine which can spray foundation to the face to make the makeup last longer. She even goes above and beyond to ensure my day was perfect; she helped me fix my veil on the day of the wedding which was a lifesaver.
Again, Josephine is a excellent makeup artist, I would use her again and will recommend her to my friends.

I have had the pleasure of having Josephine do my make-​up 3 times now. It started with my wedding, then one of my best friends, and then my sister! Each time I loved my make-​up. Not only is she a sweetheart, she is very good at what she does. The make-​up looked natural, photographed well in the pictures and last all night. I would use her again in a heartbeat. I think she is priced reasonably too.

The BEST ever. Josephine has been doing my make up for over ten years and has seen me through my engagement, my wedding, my baby shower, and other special events.

I was referred to Josephine by my wedding coordinator and used her services for my March wedding. She was absolutely amazing and so easy to work with… Any changes that I wanted to make, she listened and applied. I felt comfortable with her from the beginning. Thank you Josephine for being a part of my special day and for making me feel and look like a million bucks!

I got married on a Sunday morning a couple weeks ago, and Josephine did an amazing job! (I will explain the reason for my rating below.) I found Josephine on Unilocal after a failed make-​up and trial through a salon. Before my makeup trial with Josephine, we chatted on the phone about how I wanted to look.
She came to my house to do the makeup trial about 3 months before the wedding, and I couldn’t believe the amount of stuff she brought! She was easy to talk to, she understood exactly the look I was going for, and it was so much fun being treated like a movie star in her trailer on set for the afternoon. I provided several inspiration photos of celebrities and other brides, and she picked and chose the best elements of each to give me a custom look that worked with my coloring and my vision for myself.
I was a little daunted by the possibility of wearing false eyelashes, but I really did want my eyes to shine on my wedding day. So, false lashes it was! During the trial, I discovered that the full strips were a little uncomfortable, so she promised to throw in individual lashes for the day itself. And getting airbrushed was such an indulgence! Not only did it feel like I wasn’t wearing any makeup, but it stayed in place the entire evening after the trial.
After I decided to hire Josephine, I told her that I also needed a hairstylist. She recommended her mother, Nga Harmon, a longtime stylist. Nga ended up coming to my house for a hair trial after the makeup trial, and I think she understood the look I was going for, but the style did not hold up even after an hour. Nga promised that it would hold much better on the wedding day, so I decided to go with her, too.
Fast forward to the wedding day. Both Josephine and her mother arrived at the bridal suite. I’m not sure exactly what happened to our time, but on Josephine’s and Nga’s suggestion, we allotted a total of 3 hours for Josephine to do 3 people’s makeup and for Nga to do 5 people’s hair. Somehow, I ended up being an hour late for the start of our professional portraits (9 am). Again, I’m not sure what happened, but I think it had something to do with the fact that Nga ended up working on my mother-in-law’s hair before my own, even when she knew that I needed to be ready first. My hair, when finished, did look beautiful and held up much of the day, except for some flyaways here and there. This possible gap in communication caused me to miss my cocktail hour and also caused the photographer to have to shoot us outside in the 80-​degree heat and sun at noon.
I really appreciate that Josephine made up as much time as she could so that I wouldn’t lose too much photo time, but I wished I weren’t an hour late for my own photos.
SO, I would give Josephine herself 5 stars with no hesitation, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for makeup in the Bay Area. My makeup (and everyone else’s) looked amazing all day, even through the hot temperatures. I would have to give Nga Harmon 3 stars because I believe she is why I was late for my portraits. This averages to 4 stars.

What can I say about Josephine’s work, nothing less than AMAZING! If you don’t believe me just check out here awesome portfolio online. I have recommended friends and family to her for years especially for special occassions. She has a great personality and makes any special day of yours that much better. For my younger sisters prom; she went above and beyond expectations and my sister looked beautiful! This girl is definitely going places.

JOSEPHINE is the best makeup artist ever!!! After going through 6 makeup trials for my wedding with other MUA, and losing hoping on not finding the right person for me. I looked on Unilocal and there Josephine was. I look through all her pictures and the outcome of her was beautiful. I did my trial and book her instantly.
She did my makeup for my wedding and 5 of my bridesmaids. Not only was she professional and has a great personality but she is good at what she does. She mad everyone look sooo natural and elegant. I love how my makeup turned out and HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. Thank you Josephine!!!

When my Maid of Honor and I went to her for my consultation I was so pleased and knew that she would make me feel and look beautiful on my wedding day. She was very professional, attentive and she really took her time with me. On my wedding day Josephine did such an amazing job she did my mother, mother in law, maid of honor and me. Everything went so perfect and i was soo happy how my make up turned out i felt so beautiful and i just cant thank her enough. She did my make up exactly the way i had envisioned :) Everyone’s make up was so flawless and so beautiful Josephine really made everyone feel beautiful. Josie’s make up skills are amazing. I have had my make up done many times for weddings and I was beyond impressed with her artistic ability, especially for this wedding occassion. On top of that she is very kind and professional.

I met Josie on a fashion photoshoot I was second shooting with a fellow photographer.
She was professional and friendly! Josie did an amazing job! You could hardly tell the model had on makeup– she was soo natural looking.
The true test in her skills was after the shoot. As I was editting i was soooo happy to see the models face looked flawless. It made my job soo easy.
This was over a year ago.
Last August I had a Trash the dress session. Josie came through again and did a flawless job and was on location to do touch ups throughout the shoot!
If you are a bride to be I highly recommend her she will enhance your natural beauty! If you are a photographer let me tell you– your editing will be SOOOO easy if Josie did the make up!

Not only was Josephine an amazing make-​up artist but also very calm, friendly and helpful — which is definitely what you need when dealing with a wedding party! All of us were constantly complimented on how beautiful our make-​up looked especially the bride’s make-​up. I was so happy with her service I referred her to another friend’s make-​up for her wedding and again Josephine came through with excellent customer service and amazing make-​up artistry.
