Massage envy. It almost seems as if they have a rotating door of therapists. But you’ve got to get into the reviews to see if there are any recommended therapist. But as I’ve failed to review after every massage I’ve compiled the ratings below (adding a star for every great experience and removing a star for every… Not so good one)
HEAVEN
Pressure: med-​deep. Listened to my breathing and adjusted as necessary.
Time Management: Hit the exact areas of soreness in the 60 minute session
Knowledge: answered all my questions and backed it with examples while she worked
Punctuality: On time. Didn’t cut me short from my massage
Customer service: friendly smile, and informed me of various stretches to help alleviate soreness and make the next session that much more successful
Note: RECOMMEND. She gets booked quick, so try to take her availability asap. Unfortunately when I tried to rebook I was told she was injured and could not work at the moment, so I’ve now tried other therapists here.
NOEL
pressure: light-​med. Great! If you want to relax and fall asleep waking up refreshed.
Time Management: Hit the exact areas of soreness in the 30 minute session
Knowledge:
Punctuality: On time. But cut me short about 15 minutes.
Customer service: Shared some stretches after the massage to help with injuries that I explained to him at the start
Note: Main issue was the Cut time and the Light pressure. Pick him if you want to relax indefinitely.
NICOLE
Pressure: med-​deep.
Time Management: I asked for shoulders, upper back, Front and back legs. She dedicated the majority of the 90 minute session to my upper back. Little shoulders and back legs. Failed to get to Front legs.
Knowledge: Not sure. She didn’t talk much other than asking me what I wanted to work on at the start.
Punctuality: Arrived 10 minutes late. Cut me short at the end 25 minutes.
Customer service: After handing me the water rushed past me into the room and didn’t say a word.
Note: Avoid.

Knowledge: answered all my questions and indicated where knots had accumulated. backed it with examples while she worked
Punctuality: On time. Only cut the massage short 5 minutes or so to allow time to get dressed.
Customer service: friendly smile, informative. Unfortunately I didn’t get water from her, although she did offer it. But I had to leave to get ready for work.
Note: RECOMMEND. Rescheduled her again for another 90. Try to take her as a therapists. Consistently applied pressure and almost never stopped unless there was a transition from body part to body part.

I go to this location all the time and always have an excellent experience. I like firm to deep massage and usually request a therapist with that specialty. I found Lori to be absolutely outstanding — great intuitive hands and bright positive energy. The staff is consistently friendly, communicates well and are easy to work with.

I like Wendy! I love the beautiful Campbell location and the front desk staff is nice too. She gave me deep tissue massage and helped relax my neck and back area.

Called to make a 90 minute prenatal massage appointment, and they told me they don’t offer prenatal massages for more than 60 minutes, that the prenatal therapists prefer not to due to the safety of the baby. However, I’ve been to 3 other locations and got 90 minute prenatal massages there without any hassle, no mention of not recommending it. Compete bullshit

I found a couple good therapist here so I am updating my stars. However, that being said, there is still a lot of room for improvement. Their cancellation policy is one sided. They charge you if you cancel but if their massage therapist gets sicks and cancels (happened to me and no replacement offered) then you get nothing.

They cancelled massages without telling me. When I moved away, they charged me for a final massage 29 days after I cancelled because my «bill date» fell before the end of the month. If you move away from the massage envy area be prepared for a final charge that you can’t use.

This is my first time going to Massage Envy; I decided to get a massage because I was going to have surgery this week so I thought I would treat myself before surgery. I did the introductory special of 1 ½ hour massage for $ 74.99. I filled out a form that states what part you don’t want massaged and which part you want them to work on more. It also asked pressure level. My masseur was Jay, he was very professional, soft spoken, asked me a few questions then confirmed what parts he was going to work on and confirmed medium pressure and if at anytime I wanted to change the pressure to let him know. Then he stepped out of the room so I can get ready, I looked around and the place is very clean and smells very good, the music was very soothing and then Jay knocked on the door and came in. During the massage he would ask me if the pressure was ok and I would tell him yes. Then at one point I told him if he can go lighter and he adjusted the pressure. I highly recommend Jay his techniques, skills were amazing. I plan on coming back once the doctor says it’s ok. The overall experience was great.
If you have long hair I recommend putting it up in the braid to keep it out of the way, also I suggest taking a Zyrtec (allergy pill) because after laying face down your sinus start to swell up and it’s hard to breath through your nose. Put Chap Stick on because your lips are going to get dry from breathing through your mouth after a while.

I’m getting married this Saturday and I had my week planned out perfectly considering my schedule will be pretty hectic the week of my wedding. I made all my appointments for my massage, hair, nails and facial. Monday was the only day I could fit my massage day in before the wedding and they called me the morning of to cancel my appointment. Considering I had this all planned for my wedding and it’s a pretty important day, their customer service could have been a lot better. All I got was a sorry. I spent the next few hours looking for another appointment and wasn’t able to find one. What a way to start this week off. I purposely picked this location for their reviews, thank you massage envy for ruining my wedding week schedule.

I am so upset by what was done by Massage Envy in Campbell, that I have trouble giving them even one star! Here’s what happened to me (and I suspect many others)
In August of 2014, my husband purchased a 3 month membership for me which would allow me 3 massages in that period of time. I used the massages which were fine. He paid with our credit card.
About 5 months later, I received a call on my answering machine saying I had 5 massages credited to my account and that I could schedule them at any time. I didn’t understand why they were on my account, but called to verify and since the employee I spoke with agreed that I had them, I scheduled a couples massage for my husband and myself.
Just this month, in checking my credit card bill, I saw a charge for $ 59.99 from Massage Envy and called about it. I was informed that I have an ongoing membership starting back in August 2014, when my husband bought the 3 month deal! He was never told this short membership would convert to an ongoing «every month until cancelled membership»! At this point I have unknowingly paid for 9 months of service (I did receive 2 massages tho). I requested a refund of the remaining $ 420.00 from the manager, who refused, and from the owner (sent him an email — which remains unanswered).
This is a deceptive practice and I want to warn others before they too are trapped into paying for services beyond what they signed up for!

I love this place. I Have a membership because I decided that it is time to start caring for myself on a regular basis. I love the flexibility because I can skip a month and the next, I can get an hour and a half massage. They offer tea or water (including flavored!) they have a quiet room to start the relaxation process and their bathrooms are always clean and stocked with feminine products in case you forget which I think is an excellent touch. My boyfriend and I often get a couples massage which is a great way to bond. I’ve never had a bad experience here.

Holy Crap the manager here literally made me feel so uncomfortable that I left in the middle of trying to get a session. She was incredibly rude and imposing on customers and from the looks of it with her employees too. I say that because of how weary they came off when asking them questions they were unsure of. Maybe another location will be better.

I never do online reviews, but I had such a unique session with Justin I feel the need to comment. I’ve been a member for a month or two at this location and previously seen a masseuse I don’t even remember the name of now. Justin listened to my specific situational concerns (pragmatically «I have the office worker slump») and identified parts of my body I never realized contributed to my tension and pain. He identified them while discussing the session as I trusted his experience and pragmatism on the issue to work it out. I’ve never had a better session working on the tension between my arms, pecs and shoulder blades from slumping at a computer. He was chatty, but in a way that checked in on my experience continually, while touching base on the pressure points and how much deep pressure work I could handle. Justin was funny and responsive in a way that I wished all body-​practitioners were. I was late in traffic due to an accident on my way up, but he front desk was sweet enough to call and check in and touch base, but as it was my birthday gave me my whole time period (P.S. Happy Birthday Justin if you happen to see this!)

Jay is the man! This review is way over due. I’ve been a member of massage envy for years. After Aubrey left I was so bummed. I went to a few different therapists and wasn’t happy with the massage. I actually almost cancelled my membership. On the day I was going to cancel it I had one more massage I’d already paid for and I got paired with Jay. I changed my mind on the spot because of how great the massage was. He gives a great deep tissue. He is very professional, punctual and skilled. Thanks Jay!

Very disappointed. Today when I went for an appointment I scheduled last week I was told there was no appointment. Nothing they can do. Asked to talk to a Manager and there wasn’t one onsite? Not what I pay monthly dues for. No recourse. No accountability.

I have been a member with Massage Envy since September 2013. I have gone to several locations, CAMPBELL is my favorite location. The front desk staff is friendly and attentive to every need, and most recently, I found a therapist that I love using regularly.
I have never gotten a bad massage from any therapist, however there is a difference between a good massage and a great one, and I recently discovered that last month when I met my new therapist-​lets just say, wherever she goes, I will go-that’s how good she is. Ivana is her name, and she is a true professional in every sense.
Ivana sets herself apart with 2 major things:
1) She provides excellent customer service. Her service as a massage therapist begins the moment she greets you. She is kind, friendly and really cares about giving you what you need. I am a full time dance instructor/​choreographer and she really understands how important getting a massage is to me.
2) The massage is amazing! I’ve had many massages. This is not any massage, this is an IVANA MASSAGE. Her massages are unique and custom to what you need for that day-​which is how a massage should be. But I like I said, I’ve gotten many massages. She’s the first one to get me to want to come back to exclusively her-​and make me want to write a Unilocal review.
I am a business owner, and I believe that great customer service is what sets businesses apart. Thank You Massage Envy Campbell for taking care of me. And a BIG THANK YOU to Ivanna on her amazing skills as a massage therapist. See you all soon!

I have been going to massage envy for almost a year now and I have to say that everytime I leave I feel as if I still need a massage. The therapists are good but not great. Its like they don’t dig in there and giv eyou the massage you are looking for. I would say most of the time is a lot of rubbing even when you ask for firm. So I would say your $ on this place and go to a regular spa or the Chinese people in the mall. They do a better job. Sorry Massage Envy I gave you a try.

Went here about a year ago and got a great massage, would have definitely given it 4 stars if the masseuse didn’t act the way she did.
At first we were having a nice light conversation about life, and then her job. Then we somehow got on the topic of religion (I know, that’s too taboo, don’t talk about it with new people, but still)
Turns out she’s very very Chrisitan, which would be awesome, if she didn’t say that «it’s a shame about Jews because they’re nice but they’re going to hell»
Let me just clarify a little– I’m Jewish
I’m not very religous, but I’m 100% Jewish and I teach religious school.
I just stayed quiet about that, paid, and left. That kind of thing has never happened to me before, and it has been a long time since that one massage I got there. Who knows if that woman still works there. I just remember she has light hair and was probably around early 30’s.
I never complained or wrote a Unilocal review because I sort of just felt bad for her, but the fact that it’s still bugging me so many months later, I decided i should say something.
I guess my tip would be either don’t talk to the masseuse you get, or make sure don’t stray into any controversial topic if you don’t want to risk being extremely disturbed.

OK, this was my first time at any Massage Envy. I have to tell you, I was impressed! The place was clean and busy. Nicole was my therapist. She greeted me and asked me a few questions and off we went to my room. I asked for the sports massage as I needed to work out some sore muscles. She had strong hands and put her weight into my calves, hamstrings, quads and upper back. She gave me all I could stand. I loved it. I would advise anyone who needs the kinks worked out to see Nicole.
First complementary visit was $ 49.99 — Gratuity.

Members plan is pretty decent if you need to go regularly. $ 59 monthly i believe.
They have all the bells and whistles. Just don’t know if I want a contract, like a phone bill.

Being a member at Massage Envy, I’ve had massages from Massage Envy all over the Bay Area as well as in Vegas. We’ve had some… bad experiences needless to say (see other reviews) and Campbell is Massage Envy’s last resort for us. So far so good! We’ve been about 4 – 5 times so far. The customer service is great, the masseuses are nice and do a good job.
My new fav is Noël, I requested her for an hour and a half when I get back from my Florida trip!
Because they are the last known good/​decent massage envy, they do unfortunately fill up very quickly, so book early!

I was here in San Jose for work, so the day before had been my Birthday.
I wanted to get a massage.
Then right next to my hotel was Massage Envy, Awesome!
I just did a walk in about 1:30 and they told me they one opening at 3.
I said, «yes, I will take it.»
When I came back for my massage I had Leanne (I think) She was perfect, just the right amount of pressure and she kept the room nice and warm. I do not like to get cold. It was a great massage, she was pregnant so I did not know if she could do it too firm. But, she was right on it, perfect.
I was very happy with the massage, well worth the $ 20.00 tip I gave her. She even asked me if I wanted hot water or Green tea when I was through. I chose the hot tea.
I have never had that before either.
It was a great experience and the waiting area is nice as well. Clean and comfortable with lemon and orange water for you .
I walked but, if you drove there is lots of parking in the lot.
