One might say Sal Lupoli has pizza in his blood. Sal’s grandparents emigrated from Naples, Italy and began selling Neapolitan-style pizza on Revere Beach on the north shore of Boston in 1940. Today it is the wholesome and fresh products at our locations that has made Sal’s Pizza a unique and successful quick-serve restaurant. The concept of Sal’s Pizza originated in Boston’s North End, the world renowned enclave of authentic Italian eateries.

Meet the Business Owner

Derik F.

Business Owner

How did a New England pizza franchise get to Campbell California? The answer lies with Derik F, owner of the Campbell location.

Derik had a prior business making products for Traders Joes Supermarkets and when it came time to sell the business he found himself bored of riding his bike and wondering about what to do next. After experimenting with made different pizza recipes, Derik call this old friend Sal which he went to Northeastern University with. After a short conversation and a plane flight back to Boston a deal was done and the first Sal’s Pizza in CA was created.

With a background in Manufacturing Engineering an a long stint with Sony, Derik knew how to over come all the obstacles plagued by others to recreate something special in a new part of the county. Focusing on only purchasing the finest Italian products and making the pizzas on hand tossed dough he has managed to recreate an old school pizza pie and an affordable price.
