The service is quick and the communication is clear and responsive. Unfortunately they could not recover any data from my external hard drive, and stated it was irretrievably lost due to extensive damage. They charge $ 19.99 to ship your drive back when they cannot retrieve any data, so I paid the fee and tried another place that was able to recover a small percentage of the files at least, including some critical files.

I have an external USB hard drive where I saved all my old pictures, project documents and important personal information. I am using this drive for over five years. Recently, the drive was not powering on. I thought it might be the power issue. I removed the drive from USB enclosed case and tried to use another case to retrieve those data. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. I called several data recovery places, but Secure data impressed me with their technical knowledge over the phone about the possibilities of bad hard drive. I dropped off my hard drive next day. They diagnose my drive free and explain to me in detail that my hard drive had the bad sector (relocation error), stuck motor and dead PCB. Customer support is very informative about the progress of the recovery process. I am very impressed about their service and professionalism.

Excellent service! My husband had gotten really, really slack about backing up (like many of us!) and had an abrupt, fatal hard drive crash. Rob Anderson at Secure Data Recovery was super helpful, and walked me through the process of getting the drive to their clean-​room facility in the quickest way. They got the recovery done pretty quickly — these things do take time, modern hard disks are big! — and shipped the data back to us on Husband’s brand-​new external hard drive, which he now plans on using for backups regularly. They were able to recover almost all the data.
The service was expensive. That’s not a comparative comment, just a fact of life. The data loss would have cost much, much more.
My only complaint was that the initial estimate was about 20% lower than the final cost of the recovery. It may well be that doing estimates for this work is just difficult, but I was a bit taken aback by the final bill. Bottom line though: if it happens again, I’m not shopping around. I’ll immediately call these folks again.

Great service! I had a broken drive with about 10 years of photos of weddings, trips all over the world and a ton of other work. I had tried a couple of ‘DIY’ applications like drill disk to get something back myself and everything failed. They managed to get everything back (including every folder and file name) and even some folders i had long since given up on. On top of that i couldn’t afford the initial quote so Rob A. was able to work out a deal for me which fitted into my budget and was a great bargain compared to another company i had had a quote from. I was kept informed all the way through the process and the whole transaction was made very easy. Much appreciated all round!

My mac loaded with the last 7 years of family pictures/​videos/​data suddenly went blank. Checked with Mac store, recommended to take the HD to a third party to extract the files.

1. Before I went to this company, I tried four other companies: three companies just can not recover it at all; one company is not sure if he can fully recover the data. Only this company has the confidence to take this case. And, they actually did the excellent job.

They have their own lab and certificates to be able to performance such service. Most companies can only provide software level data recovery service.

My heart sank when I realized that my hard drive with 10+ years of photos (including wedding and children’s baby photos) had died and no amount of repeated rebuilding and repairing could fix whatever had gone wrong. What was worse was that, unbeknownst to me, because my hard drive had been in the process of dying, my backups were also not working!

It is expensive, but totally worth it to recover irreplaceable, priceless data. AND you may want to know that they don’t charge you if they can’t recover the data that you are looking for.

Our computer crashed suddenly and we lost everything on the bad hard drive. I took the computer to a reputable Apple authorized repair place and was told they cannot recover any of the data. I had a compact flash card inside of a Canon C300 camera body during an important interview. Here is my story. I thought I would be «cool» and get a network hard drive. This way I can access pictures, movies, music from any room in my house. Unfortunately, this Iomega drive (very expensive) went bad. Iomega’s response, «to bad for you, we no longer support». My wife is yelling at me as all our pictures are gone, I feel like a bad dad for not backing up the backup. What a mess. I go to fry’s for help, I talk to some tech guys at work, but no solution. I find Secure Data Recovery and the clouds part, and data is recovered. They are very professional, keep me updated constantly, and most of all recover my data.
