Whether your child wants to become a «gymnast», or just experience gymnastics, the physical, emotional and social skills developed in the classes and teams at Columbus Gymnastics Academy can be use throughout life. We offer curriculum based activities and teach using many different themes and props to motivate and educate at the same time. Each skill is broken down to the smallest part so that ALL children can find success and feel good about themselves and their progress. Our students and parents will tell you… CGA’s classes are FUN!
All of our instructors love kids, and it shows! They are extensively trained, background checked and safety certified to make sure that they are providing the best to our students. We could not have stayed in business since 1980 without a solid foundation both in gymnastics and business. Stop in and try a class. You will see and experience the difference at Columbus Gymnastics Academy!
History
Established in 1979.
Columbus Gymnastics Academy opened in June 1979 as an all boys competitive gym in Worthington, Ohio. After one year, the girls program was added. In 1985, CGA expanded by adding a second gym focusing on recreational gymnastics on the east side of Columbus. In 1990, the recreational gym moved to Americana Parkway in Reynoldsburg, and then in 1993, the competitive gym moved to a 22,000 sq’ facility in Worthington. The competitive program was very successful with a number of boys placed on the USA Junior National team while they were training at Columbus Gymnastics Academy. In 1998, the decision was made to concentrate on recreational gymnastics only, and the competitive gym was sold. The existing 10,000 square foot facility for Columbus Gymnastics Academy was built in 2000. In 2011, after adding a former Romanian Olympic coach to the CGA staff, CGA started another girls competitive program. Placement for the team is through a review process with the head coach.
