Sea Sprite On The Estuary

The gentleman in the office said my room would have a jetted tub and and I booked it just for that reason when I showed I got the handicapped room the only room that didn’t have jetted tub very upset with the stay there I got a whole Valentine’s Day planned out and that ruined half of the plans I had. If I would know I’d just go to the best western inn.

Excellent hotel! It was a beautiful room and a perfect location. It’s an easy walk to downtown Cannon Beach and the property is right on the estuary with a view of the ocean. We love staying here.

This place was expensive, but worth every penny. Our view was so wonderful with a brook feeding into the ocean right next to us and there was a very long strip of white sandy beach. The décor was very cute in tan and turquoise, a full kitchen with a little gas burning fireplace. The bathroom had a walk-​in shower and a tub for two with a window view. It was clean, quiet and all the shops and restaurants were well within walking distance. Oh yes, we got a lovely perk, a herd of elk took a stroll through the brook, played and hung around for a while. I would LOVE to go back here.

Hubby and I were gifted a weekend away Feb 27– March1 and had a glorious weekend in Osprey suite on the second floor. Totally clear days, no wind, 60’s degrees weather was so spectacular! The suite was decorated lovely, cozy, amazing views, quiet, loved the deck, the fireplace, the jetted bath tub was a real treat, full kitchen. .definite place to return to! The location: PERFECT! You’re still right on the beach and only about a 20-​minute stroll along the sand to Haystack Rock (you can get there faster if you walk through downtown on the streets), but because you’re on the north end you get much more intimacy and it almost feels like your own private beach. There are also a few spots for bonfires super close and easily accessible as well.
The rooms: We stayed in 22 and it was great. Amazing views from the large windows, private beach front deck with two seats, and updated appliances in a full kitchen. HBO and WiFi! They even have cookware, utensils, and a dishwasher there to use. The bathroom was also HUGE and stocked with plenty of towels. No tub in this particular room, but that was fine with me. I know it was a full-​house the weekend we stayed because the parking lot was full, but we never saw or heard our neighbors. Also, there’s one parking spot for each room, plus one handicap spot.
Really short walking distance from the shops and restaurants in the downtown area and only about a 3-​minute walk to several other restaurants (Castaways, El Mariacho Loco, The Lumberyard Grill). Check in/​out was a breeze; seriously, never have I had an easier experience at another hotel. I would say it’s similarly priced to several other places to say in the area, we almost stayed at a different Inn that wasn’t nearly as nice, but was closer to Haystack Rock and there was literally an $ 18 price difference for the entire stay– glad we didn’t make that mistake because this ended up being exactly what we wanted. We would definitely consider staying here again on our next trip to Cannon Beach!

Fantastic hotel. Quaint. Quiet. Spectacular view. Friendly service. Small hiccup with tub jets blasting erratically after use. Easily fixed with a call to the front desk. Beach access wonderful. We ‘ll be bank for sure.

We have been staying here for years, since it was brand new and it’s still our favorite splurge. There are less expensive places to stay in Cannon Beach but the peace and beauty here far outweighs any other place we’ve stayed before. Everything is light and bright, even in stormy weather thanks to decorating and soft soothing colors of the décor. The staff here is beyond compare, they treat us like returning friends and come right over if there are any problems and address them immediately. On our latest trip, which was a girls weekend, we called before check in time to see if the room was ready. We were informed that she had us down for next week, but not to worry, she had a room for us available. (Probably my mistake!) We were graciously upgraded to the Eagle’s Nest on the top floor, a large two (king) bedroom suite with full kitchen unit with breathtaking panoramic views of both the ocean and Ecola Creek. (good thing it was mid-​week and available!) Now I have stayed in every single room at the Estuary and all the views are spectacular. There are plenty of spots for beach fires with large logs to sit on or lean against right outside the back, where there is a short path leading through sea grass onto the beach. The furnishings, décor and linens and comfortable beds are perfect for a relaxing getaway and a good nights sleep. The soaking tub is lovely, it self cleans so there is a startling noise a few minutes afterwards that’s good to be aware of. There is a convenient hospitality closet with extra towels, soap, condiments, washer and dryer with detergent etc. at your disposal. There is no elevator but this has never been a problem for us.
We have come here for a romantic getaway for two, a family trip, a girls getaway weekend, and I have come alone for an escape as well. You just don’t want to leave. The staff and owners are tops at hospitality and graciousness, and treat their guests very well.

Extreamly over priced! One night stay cost over 300 a week after spring break. The estuary is nothing but a lazy river with crows everywhere. A longer walk to the beach than I expected. This place really sells u online but know there is a reason there is limited pictures because the places are small and cramped. It was difficult to have a good night sleep just because I felt it wasn’t worth the stay and kept wanting to get my money back and go home. Also they charge the spring break rate when it’s mid week Wednesday but neglect to tell you that half the town and the best restaurants are closed that day:/
Will never return.

Sea Sprite is beautiful. Would be the ideal beach visit if the following could be achieved:
1. Warmer ocean in Oregon
2. More than 1 nice restaurant in Cannon Beach
3. A pizza place in CB that actually could make an edible pizza
4. Warm the coast up a little in summer time
Once Sea Sprite can solve all these problems, I’ll be back regularly.
Seriously though, this is a gorgeous retreat. Quality construction and nice amenities. The location does feel like you are on your own private beach. Parking can be a little tight, but we used the handicap spot when we were pushed to it and had no problems. Well none other than when some wheel-​chair driving cane wielding psycho started beating on my car early one morning.
One other plus: Ecola State Park’s entrance is 2 minutes away by car, and is a must-​visit. Enjoyed the creperie in town, and Waves of Grain bakery and coffee shop as well.
All in all, a bit pricey but worth it for a splurge.

Beautiful, clean, bright and comfortable. Absolutely perfect. Plenty of room for our family of four. Stunning views from the kitchen, living room and bathroom. Helpful staff. Walking distance from town and steps away from the beach. Fast, easy internet. Full, easy to use kitchen. They even had a washer and drier available free of charge. We stayed two nights. Next time we will stay longer. Fantastic!

My lady and I headed off to the sea for a weekend respite. It’s been a while since we’ve had some time alone. Our house was packed with errant off-​spring since November. The two remaining kids are quiet and well-​behaved, but privacy is a rare commodity around our old homestead.
Sea Sprite on the Estuary is a gem. It’s located right on the water and the view from our room was spectacular. The accommodations are stellar. Our room included a full kitchen. We opted to stay in and my lady prepared a delicious steak and prawn dinner. There’s a little market right down the road that had everything we needed.
After dinner, the tub provided GF with her dream bubble bath. The bed was a full king, which I really appreciated. There were two HD flatscreen TV’s – one in the living room and another in the bedroom – if you can’t find anything better to do at such a romantic locale. Did I mention the cozy gas fireplace?
The drive to and from Cannon Beach on highway 26 was just a tad harrowing, as there was quite a bit of snow. However, the room rate was very reasonable on this February weekend.
Need a romantic getaway? This place is perfect. We’re already planning our next visit.

We just got back from a three day stay at Sea Sprite on the Estuary. We had initially planned on staying only two nights, but loved it so much we stayed a third night. Even then my boyfriend pretty much had to drag me to the car.
The location is amazing… at the end of the beach so very private, but still only a 3 minute walk from downtown.
The facility itself is wonderful as well. Decorated very nicely and well equipped. The kitchen has all the equipment needed to make a nice meal. The bathrooms are nice as well, most have air jet tubs as well as glass enclosed showers. My one complaint was the water pressure, which made it a little difficult to wash the conditioner out of my hair… but really, considering how much we enjoyed our stay that is pretty trivial.
The staff was very friendly and helpful as well, and meticulous with their housekeeping. We will definitely be back!

This was a super place. I have never stayed in a place this small that didn’t have staff on-​site but it was great. Five minutes from the parking lot to the room to the beach. Big picture window out to the beach, nice appointments, very comfortable. Great location, you can walk into town, or walk down the beach into town. The staff is exceptionally accommodating.

Perfect Location. right on the beach with a staggering view of Haystack Rock! The house itself was very clean with a full kitchen and fireplace. We arrived super late and the staff had taped the keys to the office (thank god). The staff also was nice enough to inform us of Ecola Park and Indian Beach as he saw my SLR and told us the photography was great there. Thanks for the tip and great Oregon hospitality!

We totally blew the check-​in time, but the staff kindly took care of taping the keys for us to find. The location is amazing, right on the beach. Place is a little old, and the circuit breaker blew on us a couple of times. which just adds to the charm. The staffer also helpfully pointed us to Eccola park, which we’d passed up. Oregon People Rock! Even the State Patrol, who let me off with a warning, woohoo!

I don’t really want to give this place the Unilocal it deserves, because I would hate for it to become overly popular. I want this place to be my private little slice of beachy heaven.
However…sharing is caring, so here goes.
This place is amazing. It’s private and yet right on the beach. You get access to everything without sacrificing privacy or peace. The units are roomy and well appointed, and I want to spend more than just a couple of nights there the next time I go.
I like that there are only 5 rooms and that you are undisturbed by staff or other guests. That said, the few times I spoke with the staff, they were very helpful and accommodating.
The rooms are decorated nicely and have almost everything you’d need for a stay at the beach. The large, jetted soaking tub was a nice bonus. The balcony was perfect for sitting and vegging out. Every single room has a view, and being on the estuary, you have the noise of the ocean coupled with all the beauty of a calmer body of water.
My only complaint (and this is minor) is that the bathroom needed more lighting and space in the shower for bottles of shampoo, conditioner, etc. Apart from that, Sea Sprite is incredible and I can’t wait to get back there!

My hubby and I headed to Oregon to celebrate our one year anniversary, spending two nights on the coast in Cannon Beach. After a lot of research, I chose the Sea Sprite on the Estuary and we were SO glad we did! It is a fairly new property, a large oceanfront «house» with just 5 units on 3 floors. We loved the location at the end of the beach, which provided more seclusion from the heavy traffic areas of the town, but had fabulous views of the rocky coast and estuary with easy access to the beach. (*Note: It is an inn, not a B&B, because breakfast is not included in your stay and not available on the property!)
The décor is perfect and exactly what you would expect from a seaside inn! Shells and calm, fresh colors in shades of blues, tans, and yellows with wood floors, tile in the bathroom and carpet in the bedroom & living room. There are special touches like unique shell tile in the bathroom that give the rooms a lot of character. Our unit was sparkling and everything was extremely fresh & clean. It had all the amenities we could ask for from a large jetted tub and glass shower to flat screen TV’s in both the living room and bedroom to a fully equipped stainless steel kitchen. Our bed was extremely comfortable; a pillow top mattress that was fairly firm, but still soft enough to be comfortable.
We stayed in a one bedroom unit (because the studio we initially wanted was booked) and felt the space was perfect. I did get to peak into a studio unit as we were leaving and we would have been completely satisfied with that space as well! The major difference is that the bed is in a portion of the main living area rather than in a separate room. The décor is consistent room to room regardless of the size of the unit you select.
We loved the balcony off of our living area that has two teal adirondack chairs that are perfect for reading or having a glass of wine overlooking the beach & coast. Our room was extremely private and while there were guests in several of the other rooms, we never heard them. You are able to have fires right on the beach in Cannon Beach, and there are several perfect spots just behind the Sea Sprite on the Estuary. The location of the inn is a short 5 minute drive from the main downtown street where you will find many of the shops and restaurants. The Sea Sprite has another location near haystack rock, which I’m sure is also lovely, but we preferred this newer location for it’s spacious & fresh décor and more private, secluded location on the end of the beach.
We found the local grocery store to be rather pricey, so if you desire to cook in the fully equipped kitchen, I would recommend stopping to pick up groceries on your drive into town.
We had high expectations for our stay and we were not disappointed! The only thing that could have made our stay any better was the addition of breakfast. Or a discounted rate. The inn is probably not the best bet for you if you are looking for a good option on your budget. But honestly, Cannon Beach doesn’t provide many quality affordable options. However, if it’s a special occasion or you are looking for quality over price, I would highly recommend the Sea Sprite on the Estuary.
After our two night stay in this cute little inn, we were wishing we didn’t have to leave!
