friendly staff, super clean, they have plenty of beach gear to loan out, short walk to the beach, proximity to great coffee shop (Sea Level), lots to like about Wayside.

My wife and I just stayed the weekend here with our 6 month old baby and two dogs. It was a wonderful experience and everyone at the front desk to the cleaning service were awesome! We were fortunate enough to have a small kitchen in our room which worked out perfect! The stay was at least $ 50 a day cheaper than other hotels in the area. The rooms were very clean and for the most part updated. Best pet friendly deal in cannon beach! Thanks and we will be recommending to our friends and staying here again in the future!

There is no comparison in Cannon Beach in terms of value for money. The location is just across from easy beach access, most rooms have ocean views, and it is impeccably clean. Add to that friendly and proactive dog-​loving staff (Jim!), pool, hot tub, DVDs, free cookies & salt water toffee, ok I’ll stop. Do yourself a favor and spend a night here before you spend more for less!

What a very pleasant surprise. Very nice clean rooms. Bend over backwards to make your stay the very best. Have toys, blankets, and even nice wagons to pull kids or stuff to beach all free. Really nice pool and plenty of toys there also. My daughter Michelle Pierce made the arrangements for a 5 generation get away. We will go back.

This hotel totally deserves five stars.
Location: the hotel is located in a quiet area across the street from the beach and a couple of miles south of «downtown.» There is a restaurant across the street and a pub next door. Haystack Rock is about a five minute walk up the beach.
Room: I think there are only 24 rooms in the hotel and it appears they all have a small deck with a view of the ocean. The room was clean, modern and quiet. It included a gas fireplace, small dining table, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, cable TV and DVD player (they have DVDs available for borrowing in the office).
Staff: the folks at the front desk were genuinely friendly and totally customer oriented. They offer you cookies and candy in the office whenever you stop in, and they offer your dog a biscuit. Really nice folks to chat with.
Dog Friendly: this is the most dog-​friendly business I have been to anywhere. Upon check in, they welcomed our dog like SHE was the customer. In the room there was a basket with towels and sheets. .. for dogs! There was also a set of dog bowls and a welcome dog-​biscuit. They have a hose at the side of the hotel for rinsing your dog off after returning from the beach, and there are clean dog towels and a water bowl in front of the office (both of which were always full). There is a dog toilet area, with bags and a garbage can, across from the office.
Other: They also have a pool and Jacuzzi.
Overall: I cannot imagine a better place for dog-​owners to stay. I would highly recommend the Wayside Inn to any dog owner.

Best value in Cannon Beach. Excellent staff, clean quiet, well equipped lodging. Ocean views.

This is right off the ocean with great views and balconies for the sea air.
The hotel price was amazing and the staff was fabulous.
They are dog friendly so I brought 2 dogs (maltese and boxer).
The staff had prepaired a dog basket and had water dishes.
The rooms are very nice and very clean.
We enjoyed our stay immensely.
Great location to many shops and resteraunts — but not so close you have traffic issues. 5 min drive.

This is such a cute hotel and totally dog-​friendly. They have pet sheets, dog towels, bowls, and the most adorable cookies from the local dog store, Dogs Allowed (in Cannon Beach). They have a dog towel exchange and they even have crates available if you need to leave your dogs in the room alone and are traveling without one. Aside from being pet friendly, every room has some view of the ocean, which is literally right across the street. Would totally recommend this place. There’s a great little coffee shop and bakery just a block away, and a pub next door for food. Awesome getaway!

Nice hotel on the south end of Cannon Beach and a short walk to the beach and Haystack rick. Its a couple miles to the actual town but there are a couple restaurants within walking distance and a nice coffee /​bakery.
The hotel really caters to dogs with a nice welcome basket for them, towels, cookies, etc they even had wagons to check out that was really handy for our 13 year old dog when he got tired.

Great location with a nice view and large rooms at a very good rate. Granted we visited during off season in March, but I suspect this place would be hard to beat even in season. We had a suite with a king sized bed and everything was to our liking. Plenty of space, clean, and comfortable. The beach was a short walk across a public access parking lot and then it was a 10 – 15 minute walk on the beach to Haystack Rock. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Gave us great ideas for meals and directions. We left something behind when we checked out and he let us know and took the extra effort to mail it back to us

This was a great place to stay very clean and very dog friendly. A place to rinse off your dog and plenty of dog towels for you to use. it is so nice to stay in a place were they understand that your dog is part of the family.

This place was great! Super dog friendly, clean and great staff. The kitchen has a toaster, oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer and all the cooking utensils. Includes salt and pepper and coffee maker and tea with all dishes and glasses. The only thing I wish they would provide is a gate of some sort to keep the dogs away from the hot fire place. I could go on about all the perks of this place.

The family and I came down here for a spur of the moment weekend trip. From the minute we checked in through the moment we checked out, we got exceptional customer service. Our dog was treated like Royalty and so was our toddler. Great location. Can’t wait to come back!

The price for this hotel based on what we were given is unreal. Immaculate room, friendly staff, surprisingly good beach view. An absolute must if you’re looking for the best wintertime budget hotel. I almost felt like I was cheating them due to how little it was. Would absolutely return.

My parents were visiting and we needed a place to stay that welcomed dogs. We were so very pleased with the service we received from Wayside inn. Kona was also very pleased as well with her welcome dog basket. The room was just the right size for the price and views were a bonus. Definitely will recommend Wayside inn to anyone in need of a great stay in Cannon Beach!!!

I give this place 5 stars because of their friendly staff, clean rooms/​grounds, beach access and the chocolate cookies in the lobby :-)
I’m not a fancy girl but I do enjoy having things made easy for me. They provided us with beach blankets, towels, chairs and toys when needed.
If you’re passing through Cannon Beach, give it a try. You’ll be happy here unless your a real diva and don’t enjoy natures beauty :-)

5 stars because it was incredibly clean and the staff was amazing. For the price we paid we expected much worse accommodations. Pet friendly. The pool and hot tub were nice. I am pretty sure all the rooms have an ocean view with a balcony or a patio that opens to the sea. We are literally right across the street from one of the most amazing Oregon beaches I have ever been to. Miles of clean soft sand and plenty of space to enjoy any activity. Everything in the room was modern and incredibly clean. Our room was small (we were told it was the smallest room onsite) but it had a kitchen and it was well worth the price.
I am sure we will try and stay here again next time we come through!!!

What a gem! We stayed in the one bedroom two queen suite. It was perfectly spacious and had two bathrooms and an balcony with an ocean view. It’s about a mile from downtown cannon beach, but still close to a few things. There is a playground across the street, as well as the beach and a small grocery store. The hotel offers beach blankets, toys, and wagons to borrow too! Overall, Jill’s customer service was fantastic and so was the hotel (especially for the price). We will stay here anytime we come to Cannon Beach!

This is the only place we will ever stay when visiting Cannon Beach. The price was lower than almost every place we called and they were the only hotel that could accommodate all five of us and our two dogs on the weekend we wanted to visit. The room was clean, had all the vital cooking appliances, pots and pans we needed to cook breakfast for everyone 4 days in a row and make 2 home cooked dinners.
They are conveniently located AWAY from town near Mo’s. If you stay here, the walk to Haystack rock is still very reasonable and you will not have to contend with as much beach traffic. Right across the street is a nice playground and they have everything you need to have a great day at the beach! They provide you with:
Wagons
Beach toys
beach blankets
beach towels (big fluffy ones)
dog poo bags
lots of puppy treats
decent coffee in the office (plus cookies, taffy and breakfast bars)
They also have a lovely pool with lots of toys and a hot tub plus more towels! I loved that I never was without something for my little guy to do here. They really have all the bases covered.
On top of the wonderful property the staff was all very polite and cleaned our room thoroughly. The icing on the cake was at check out, when the woman at the desk presented my son with a squirting fish toy. He hugged «bubbles» all the way back to Woodburn. It was such a sweet gesture and made him feel so special. Thank you again, we can’t wait to come back.
