California Frozen Poppers

Wow! Such a unique idea but well executed! The popcorn is delicious with a very large variety flavors! The staff is SO extremely nice, we will definitely be going back!

Stopped by after making a wrong turn in west hills and was pleasantly surprised to make this frozen popcorn discovery! Got a free small bag of s’mores popcorn with check in on Unilocal and bought a regular bag of better than kettle popcorn. Both are delicious! You can actually taste the caramel and marshmallow, not just flavoring but actual ingredients. The staff was super friendly and patient as we took our time sampling different flavors. I will definitely spread the word and return to try other flavors!

I’ve come here before. Actually a lot. Really. I have sampled every flavor. And purchased most of them at least once. There are both sweet or savory, and some sweet and savory. Not only are there dozens to choose from on the board, there are often seasonal ones too. And they let you mix some in a bag. The variations are endless. As is the patience of Josh and Sulmaz when I want to try some.
My personal favorite is the Cheesy Does It. Simple Cheddar corn that is simply delicious. There is also a Aged White Cheddar, and a spicy variation on each of them. I get the cheese corn so much that I have bought the refillable buckets to save money. A refill is a buck off the regular price. I know it is a great deal to me, but it might be just as good for the Mad Popper too. When I see my empty bucket at home, it makes me want to go in and fill it up. The cheeses can last a couple days, but I seem to eat it to quickly to really test this.
When I want something sweeter, I like to get one of the maple varieties. Bacon on the Brain has real pieces of bacon. It is great. Or Dirty Laundry, which has Oreo cookies. These are the frozen kind. They can last forever in the freezer, and I think they actually taste better cold then at room temperature.
My son likes Coco Mint, and my daughter likes Fruitilicous. My wife is complicated, and as such has complicated taste. She likes to have Peanut Butter mixed with Coconut. My niece likes the Cookie Butter, while my brother-​in-​law gets the Ghost Pepper, but he is crazy.
As you can see, everyone can find their favorite. I’m sure you can too.

It’s like Baskin Robbins — 31 Flavors and Popcornopolis had a frozen popcorn child but with more flavors. Great stuff and nice, down to earth owner (s).
Haven’t been in a while but will be going back soon.

Awesome popcorn! The owners are so nice and the flavors here are out of control. If you are ever in the area DROP BY and if you are not in the area DROP BY anyway. Flavors that rocked were: dark side of the moon, pineapple coconut, South of the border spicy cheese and Aztec gold. Loved it. We will be back!

The owners of this place are super original and very artistic with their business. They sell frozen popcorn which was something I had never thought of before. It’s really fresh and the ingredients are all real, not just powdered crap that you get from some specialty popcorns. I think they must have had at least 30 – 40 different flavors and he let us sample all of them. I don’t think I tried even one that I didn’t like. They were so creative. It was like walking into wildly wonkas popcorn shop. They had far too many flavors to remember them all, but they were so good
This place is air popped heaven and the flavors are constantly rotating which is awesome too. Really liked the owners and I can’t wait to visit again. By the way the bags of popcorn were very affordable. They were the same price and cheaper then buying popconopolis from costco or ⁷⁄₁₁

Frozen popcorn seemed like such a strange concept, but since they air pop them and don’t use preservatives this is the ideal way to keep them fresh and crunchy. Every flavor we sampled was even better than the last.
Very very kind and enthusiastic owner, told us we could sample as many as we wanted and we could mix flavors of the same price range.
Lots of vegan options, good for people like me with dairy allergies!

I was in such disbelief that a popcorn place could be five stars on Unilocal!But once you step inside, you will be amazed. Five stars awarded for the amazing and almost unlimited flavors and exceptional service. Who knew that frozen popcorn was so delicious?
SERVICE: My first time walking in, the owner made us feel welcomed by explaining the menu, and his process for making the popcorn. The popcorn is air popped (instead of with oil) and flavored with REAL caramel, not artificial caramel that hardens at room temperate. His caramel is soft and chewy at room temperature and crunchy when frozen. We can sample as much as we want, and I really appreciate the fact that he gives us only one sample cup to use over and over again so that we can recycle and eliminate waste.
FLAVORS: my advice is to try the flavors you are curious about because I would’ve never thought I’d like caramel with cheese and chili or caramel and lemon heads, but I did. If you’re a sweet tooth, go for cake, circus animal, TNT (English toffee) or the dirty laundry (Oreo). If you like fruity, go for granny’s green apple, luscious lemon or fruitilicious. Weird concept, but I found out that i LOVE the fruity flavors! The Aztec Gold is he most popular spicy one, but for those daredevils, there’s about one or two flavors with ghost peppers! Most flavors have caramel on them but there are a few popcorns that are just cheesy.
COST: large bags are about 7 – 12 dollars but it’s buy three get one free. You’re going to want three… So it’s a good deal and a great gift idea as well.

I have to give them a 5 for their excellent customer service and amazing popcorn. You don’t find places like these very often, but when you do you know they’re special and one of a kind. The shop resembles the owner and you can see where he took his time to add every detail especially with the popcorn. I’ll definitely be coming back until I try every flavor. Oh! And they have popcorn sundaes during the summer, you know I’m going to stop by to try those! Like I said, One of a Kind

From the service to the popcorn they are 5+ stars. Have been coming here since they have opened. Tried many flavored from sweet to spicy. Salty to savory. Never had a bag we didn’t enjoy.

We drive over an hour to get their White Cheddar popcorn. I have to get a few of the large ones because one large one is going to be eaten on the drive home.
Their product is like nothing you’ve ever had before. Worth the drive. Free samples. All natural. No preservatives. Loyalty program.

This place is too good to be true. Yet it is! Finally stopped by after living in the area for 5 years – don’t make the same mistake I did.
This is popcorn to the extreme. And fresh ingredients. Your brain will pop. Try the jalapeño and cheddar made from REAL cheese. So. Damn. Good.
The owner also works behind the counter and is friendly in the way you wish more businesses were these days. Definitely a throw-​back to a different place and era. Wish customer service was always this good.

So I had a client recommend this place awhile ago. We were passing by and I checked Unilocal and couldn’t believe the reviews. So since I love popcorn we checked it out. Yes they are super friendly and you can try anything they have. They have a wide range of flavor combinations. Literally something for everyone. It is pricey for popcorn, but so is popcorn polis and kettle corn. And this is so much better, tasting and healthier.

If you love popcorn, this will be your new holy grail. I must have sampled 10 different flavors and the woman at the front (judging from a banner in the store, she is likely the co-​owner) was more than happy to help me out. The samples are not measly and they have so many flavors that you’re bound to find one that suits your taste buds.
My favorite was the Aztec Gold. Cheesy, Lime-​y, and just enough kick. So delicious.
If you prefer a more traditional popcorn, try the all cheese options. They don’t need to be frozen. I bought the Aged White Cheddar that they had just finished making. It was a flavor explosion in my mouth — they definitely don’t skimp on the cheese.
The only thing that kind of sucks is that these have to be eaten frozen (because they are preservative-​free). Not the most convenient for packing a snack to work, but in return you get popcorn that is handmade using real ingredients. It’s worth it. I have eaten the Aztec Gold not frozen and it is still pretty good. The powder from the chili and cheese make it more manageable. Bacon on the Brain and other flavors that are primarily caramel and chocolate will become soft and sticky though. Best save those for home.

They are amazing! Love all things with spice and all things with peanut butter! Oh and all the strawberry creations! What am i saying?! It is all delicious!!! A hidden treasure in the valley!

Okay in all seriousness, holy s*** California Mad Poppers is my absolute new addiction. I can’t handle how good this place is. First of all, iv only encountered the same guy who works here and he’s super nice and patient with you (so you can totally take your sweet time trying everything). They give you free samples AND you can get a fourth bag free when you buy three!
I’m already a popcorn fiend so it took little to no convincing to come here. But I truly believe this place will turn popcorn haters to lovers with just a few samples.
They have a HUGE selection of delicious flavors and have constant new ones! They also make everything themselves. So why are you still reading this review? I think its time for you to go to California Mad Poppers! (and bring me back a bag… or 9)

My daughter got the pig in space– chocolate, bacon & caramel. Her one friend got the dark chocolate sea salt & the other a mix of midnight madness & dark side.
I got the caramel because the TNT which is my favorite was sold out.
It’s not cheap but great quality and flavored to choose from. Worth every penny and I guarantee you’ll be addicted!

I was never a popcorn fan, my prior experience was stale movie popcorn or with those awful variety pack (regular, caramel, cheddar) giant tins during the Christmas holidays. CA Mad Poppers changed all that and converted me.
I love the popcorn here. The variety is overwhelming but that’s a good thing, more reasons to come back! Sweet and savory or double sweet :)
After eating dinner nearby in the same strip mall, we wanted to get some dessert for the movie later. I appreciated the free samples and the friendliness and patience the staff had with a skeptical, curious, and indecisive customer (me).
So… snuck the bag of popped corn into the theater and I ended up eating the entire bag there, before the movie ended. So good and who knew… frozen popcorn is delicious!

Such a fun place and I love the warm welcome everytime we come. Highly recommend the coconut, peanut butter, caramel apple popcorn and any with bacon lol We just love the popcorn here.
You keep it in the freezer and just pop it out for a snack, so it lasts a good while and stays so fresh! I love it!
