Dilli Express catered the food for my wedding reception in June 2015. The food was absolutely delicious! Almost one year later, people are still talking about how good it was :)

Amazing food just the best samosas Iv ever had and their mint chutney was exquisite! I live down the street and I don’t make a lot of money but when I do get the chance to spend a little, I buy myself some food here! Truley one of the best places to eat

I work in the Canoga Park area. It has been my mission to find delicious Indian food in the area. Of all the available places in this area, I give Dilli two stars. Mainly for effort. The food is okay if you’re dying for Indian and in need of some quickly and can’t get to a better place. My personal fave is Chicken Tikka Masala. This one is decent. I dislike the bell pepper and onion combo they put in it. But, the flavor(sauce) is decent. I’m not particularly fond of the rice as its coarse, short grain and definitely not the good basmati I like from other Indian spots. I’ve recently stopped eating here because every single time I eat here I get a headache. So, I am postulating that the food has an immense amount of msg? That’s just a theory, don’t quote me on it. ;)

Made a big mistake going to Dilli Express without checking Unilocal. Went on Saturday, Nov 15,2015 approximately at 7:00pm. There were no customers. This should’ve been a red flag. Ordered an appetizer. On the menu it states the appetizer comes with chutney. When I asked for chutney the waiter said they’ve run out of chutney. Run out of chutney? Yep, they sure did. Ordered two entrée’s, the menu says it comes with rice. Entrée’s was brought to the table, but no rice. Asked for the rice, the waiter said they’ve run out of rice. The waiter said they mostly cater and not too many customers come for dinner. Here is a warning for anyone thinking of going for dinner to DILLIEXPRESS… DON’T! Also, want to add the restaurant is not very clean as some other UnilocalER’s have indicated.

Two years after my initial review and I’ve only grown happier with each visit. Theres a buffet during lunch which makes for an awesome choice when in the area. It’s like $ 12. Amazing price for the options of tasty Indian food. I usually try a little of everything and I just love the fresh veggies with my extra savory dishes. I’m fond of the samosas and of course the butter chicken but wish there was a way to make mine spicier. Overall, this place has gotten better with renovations that have expanded their restaurant and haven’t compromised on food quality, variety of options and flavor. I’m happy to send anyone down to eat here. Never had a bad meal!

I ordered food through eat24, the restaurant waited an hour before choosing to notify that they were unable to make my order. That’s not ok.

Super reasonably priced buffet until three. Limited but excellent, tasty food. Although you don’t get business with a smile, you still get your drinks and yummy garlic naan as soon as you sit down. We are more than willing to overlook the fact that they aren’t welcoming for the yummy food. Once in a while you get a warm, friendly waitress with a smile that makes the experience nicer.

$ 8 lunch buffet when I went on weekday, has a small but decent selection of items. taste neither great nor bad. the garlic naan was good. for this price you can’t really complain. owner and staff seem fresh off the boat, long faces and frowns, don’t even bother to acknowledge customers walking in. did anyone tell them about service with a smile concept in america? went there early in afternoon after seeing the Open sign hanging on door. staff actually seemed annoyed that I walked in just after opening. loud music and bollywood dance on big screen tv. Owner had his lunch buffet standing behind cash register while customers at their tables, not professional but very funny.

I came in here randomly and was not disappointed. 7.99 for lunch buffet on a Friday. They provide you with their basic naan and you serve yourself.

I hate to rate places down but this just wasn’t a great plate of indian. I came here for the lunch buffet and everything from the sauce being watery and the meat being gristly. I left this place feeling unfulfilled. Just being honest. I see a lot of great reviews though, so maybe it was a bad day for them. The staff was pleasant though.

This place is pretty good. Fri, Sat, Sun buffet — let’s me get to learn about the different dishes and eat only what I like. I wish they had a goat dish and Samosas; but, overall it’s a good value — the TIkka Chicken is moist and I also love the curry chicken & butter chicken. The garlic Naan? — AMAZING! One of the best I’ve had. There should be more people visiting on the weekends — let’s keep this place around — give it a shot, the buffet is a good value.

This place is right around the corner from where I live and I’m so glad it is because the food here is super yummy. They have a lunch buffet from 11:30AM– 3PM for only $ 7.99. All the curries are delicious and the Garlic Naan is fresh and made-to-order. The owner, Kumar, is very friendly and accommodating as well as the rest of the staff here. Definitely found my go-to Indian place :)

Went here last evening for dinner. We were 10 of us and were seated promptly and were told we could do buffet or order a la crate. Food on the buffet was fantastic and fresh. Great variety for vegetarian, non veg and pescatarians. Butter chicken, Goat curry, tandoori chicken, Shahi Paneer, samosas, pakoras, daal and a whole lot more. Fresh Naans(Plain and garlic) and rotis served on the table. Gulab Jamuns for dessert and fresh Masala chai to top it all off! All this for $ 10.00!!! Kumar, our server, was excellent. Very knowledgeable and courteous. Even the owner came out to say Hello. We will be back soon!

I love Indian food and was really disappointed. I never thought there was ever a bad Indian restaurant until I ate at Dilli Express. Sure, the buffet is cheap($ 10 for dinner) but is that worth the experience and eating unsatisfying calories? NOPE. The rice was either really old or cooked poorly. How can an Asian mess up on rice? There were rice grains as hard as gold. I thought my back teeth were going to break its fillings! The first scoop of food I got had a long hair tangled in the food. The sauces and seasonings are what I love about Indian food but it was mediocre here. It was the first time I didn’t want to stuff myself at a buffet and that’s saying a lot because my friends think I’m a human garbage disposal that can shove anything down in its site(perves lol). I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I went because it was right around the corner of my mom’s place. I’d rather eat my own hair than someone else’s.

They would’ve at least gotten a 3-star for the good food and slightly deceiving menu prices. But now they get a 2-star for making me wait 10 minutes for them to open, since it was 10:50 and they open at 11:00, as it says so on their front door. Wondering why they still weren’t open at 11:03 so I called, only to hear them tell me they open at 11:30!!! Not cool! THAT’s what annoys customers into never coming back! Especially if their food is not super enough to rate a 5-star!
