Peace of sh$t screw this place… Towed my car for no reason made me wait close to 4 hours the old bitch kept getting phone calls each phone call took 40 minutes while after getting to me telling me i have no drivers to drive your car out… after taking my payment. while the tow truck drivers kept driving in and out

$ 85 for a tow around the corner from where they are and I am and where I need to go .3 miles away. $ 55 is best so far

I use this company for my Commercial Buildings.
They are fantastic! Prompt and friendly service!
They have drivers that can pick up cars from the most amazing spots with ease! Trust me we have a huge Farmers Market and need to get cars out of the way during set up! These guys are amazing!
Jerry is the best I have had the pleasure to work with for sure! They have other great guys too!
This is the service to have if you manage properties. We always hate to have to tow cars but, some people’s decisions make it necessary!

These people are absolutely total crooks and they prey upon the people of the Western San Fernando Valley. I wonder how people that operate and work in a business like this sleep at night but I guess when you have already sold your soul to the devil or you are in fact the devil it makes it easy.
Long story short my car was towed illegally from Promenade Mall and they charged me for a second day despite the fact that the second day hadn’t started yet.

Wish I could give a negative star but Unilocal requires at least 1 star… My car was towed and I had no choice but to go here… Service was horrible! We walked in with 1 other guy and waited by the window for few minutes until he decided to knock on the glass window (like at the bank) and the two girls in the back jumped up from their seats and finally came up to help us. The girl that helped me, named Angelica was a total bi***! for no reason at all, she needs to be educated on customer service!
I came up to the girl that just finished helping the other guy and she told me «oh, she’ll help u next ‘pointing at other girl in next window’».Angelica just looked at me, I didn’t know what to say, it’s my first time getting my car towed, so I said the type of car it was… she stared at me with a blank dumbfounded face and said «I can’t hear you» as she twitched her upper eyelid as if she was annoyed. From there on she would just throw papers, my ID and card thru the little slot…
She was just very bi***y and I hope her and her manager looks at this review just to show her she need to put her act together, or give the job to someone else who needs it and will do a hell of a better job than her. I don’t know if she had a bad day or whatever, (she was laughing n joking with her fellow coworker) but when a customer is already upset bc their car got towed and have to pay big bank$$$ for it you don’t act like a complete bi*** to your customer… be a bit understanding bc u know u’d be upset too!

I had my car towed by this company. And when I tried to pick it up, the charges were high amount from weekend storage fees. I asked if I could pay half as it was all I had at the time. The employee said she could not take half. I asked why I couldn’t pay half for the time being and the lady said she did not know why but they wouldn’t be able to take half. It’s weird cause there is a sign near the lobby window that says «Everyone who comes in here has problems. if there is anything we could do to Help!, just ask.» Honestly they could care less what your problem or situation is. They are there to profit from peoples problems and misfortune. A month later, while viewing the vehicles that were to go up for auction along with my car. I noticed all the vehicles were pretty old or junky cars. Ok obviously the people who these vehicles belongwd to did not have alot or any money and they needed whatever little it is they had. But a company like this has no interest in helping anyone. This whole process is so wrong. Nothing about this whole process of holding people’s possesions in return for a rediculous amount of money has any justification. It’s so devious. So after the auction, I found the radio face and the twelve disc Cd changer, and thought I could serender it to the person who bought the car, since these are items I will never be able to use ever again. The female employee at Howard Sommers I explained this to sounded surprised and said «Wow no one has ever called to do something like that.» This was really nice.” She informed me she would have to ask her supervisor. So I leave my information for the supervisor. I get a call back from the supervisor who calls me with his serious IRS tone of voice. He says to me he didn’t want to hold items for anyone here. He didn’t know if they were a regular customer of theirs. He also began to say he could not disclose any information about the buyer. Thats pretty obvious and a no brainer. I was never asking for the buyers information. I informed him I had already spoken to someone last week and they were able to see it was not a regular client and there was only an address. I asked if they could send the buyer a letter to let them know about the items. The guy said he didn’t want to hold items there for someone, and then before the conversation was finished, he was already trying to hang up on me. I don’t think they want to do anything «Good» for anyone unless they can profit or benefit from it. Pretty sheisty company. The women who work here are very nice though.

We’ve had some disrespectful people parking in red zones and blocking people in an they refuse to move… Jerry came out last night and was a ROCKSTAR!
Legitimately had the car lifted and off the property in under 10 seconds flat!!!
The whole process was very easy and streamline and Jerry really was amazing!

I’d locked my keys in my car, which I’d bought 3 months before. I called these guys, and Steve was there in 20 min to clear up this potentially devastating situation. Am very grateful.

When I first walked into their lobby, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. I can’t tell you what an experience it was. We needed to empty my mothers car following a terrible car accident that same day. The staff was prompt, courteous and efficient. Extremely helpful is an understatement. It would appear Howard Sommers really knows how to pick a staff and run a company. These guys are amazing. And the facility is clean, modern and well-​organized. If you’re ever in need of towing services in the valley, I’d make sure Howard’s team takes care of it. Thanks again, Howard, for everything.

Unfortunately I had a 30 day hold on my car but as soon as It was up they where so helpful and nice in handing my car back to me. They are good people my grandfather Marty Klotz use to work for them. Him and my grandmother Ellen always had great things to say about them. Thanks again for your help an great customer service :)

If you need a tow, do not call Howard Sommers Towing. This company can not be trusted, be smart and call a different company for your tow.

Howard Sommers Towing is wonderful! They helped me when my car went over the side in feb 2014. The drivers and the office staff are so helpful. I recommend this towing company to everyone I know. Thank you!

I just had my car towed by Sommers; quite a distance in fact, from Canoga Park to North Hollywood.
I’ll point out that the reason I called H. Sommers is because I needed a tow truck that could get into a garage with a 7.8′ clearance, and Sommers was the only tow service that could get into the parking garage to tow my car. So, if you’re stuck in a garage you might want to call these guys before calling any other company.
The driver, Miguel, arrived super fast, and his service was great. He informed me some tips about getting my car towed in the future, and was careful when hooking my car up to the truck.
I’ll call Howard Sommers if I ever need a tow again in the valley, and I’ll ask for Miguel.

I did not witness any rude behavior when I was here. The only problem I had was that I had to pay for 3 days of storage but the day they took it, they only had it for 1.5 hours. But their excellent service made me happy. I had to walk almost 7 miles to get there and as soon as I walked through the door they gave me water. I didn’t ask for it, they came out and handed it to me. It was not a bad experience for me, but I hope to never have to come back to get my truck again…

Last night I was at West Hills Hospital in the ER parking area. Unfortunately for me, my car battery died. Of course no one had jumper cables. I noticed a police officer parked in the parking lot. Since I don’t have AAA, I didn’t know what my options were. The police officer dispatched a tow truck.
While I was waiting for the tow truck, I learned that I had emergency road side assistance through my insurance. I contacted my insurance… an hour to an hour and a half wait time but at lease it would be free. In that time, Victor F. from Howard Sommers Tow arrived. He arrived about 20 min after the officer had him dispatched. I immediately told him that I didn’t need his assistance since my insurance company dispatched a company. I asked him how much it was going to cost to have him do it… since he was there and it was cold and my son was sick in the back seat. He told me an amt and he also told me a portion of it had to be cash. Who carries cash any more? You would never believe what happened next.
Victor F. said to me, «I’m just going to jump start your car for you. It is freezing outside and I can’t in good faith leave you out here in the cold for another hour plus.» I was shocked!!! He jumped started my car and didn’t charge me a thing.
As soon as I got to work this morning, I contacted Howard Sommers and spoke with Steve. I explained to him what happened last night. He was very appreciative that I called. He promised that he would acknowledge Victor for his excellent service.
THANK YOU VICTOR FOR HELPING ME AND MY FAMILY. IT WAS SO APPRECIATED AND I WILL NEVER FORGET IT.

Very poor service. Gentleman was nothing but rude over the phone and the lady I spoke with was short and rude. I’ll pick another tow company next time. These guys are pure garbage. Stay away.

I’ve had my car towed for illegal parking before, it sucks. However, I’ve never had a situation like dealing with the goons at Howard Sommers.
My car was towed from the Met housing property in Woodland Hills. As a side note, I believe the Howard Summers towing company and The Met have some game going where the Met gets a cut of towing fees. When you check into the Met they take down the exact location you’ll be visiting, they know how many visitors are already on site and how many visitor spots are available… they can also get a tow truck to your location within 30 minutes of parking which is how long it took for my car to be towed. It doesn’t even seem possible to me to have a tow truck dispatched to a location within half an hour. I don’t think it’s efficieny working on Howard Summers side… I’m betting they clean up towing away unsuspecting visitors who are given no instruction as to where to park. Either way, I admit I parked in a non visitor space and while towing was suspiciously quick it was ”legal.“
I go to pick up my car. This place employs the typical mix of tired looking GED dropouts but the processing of my paperwork was quick enough. They pulled my car out front and instantly I saw the damage to the front end of my car– the front right fender had been detached near the headlight, clearly damage from the towing instrument being inserted and lifted under the front of the car. I went back in to complain and before I could even complete a sentence and the manager could pull my paperwork everyone in the office had responded «we didn’t damage the car, the damage was already there.» Odd that everyone in the office knows all the existing damage on each car they tow…
The manager immediately begins that they have pictures of the pre existing damage to my car. I’d actually just purchased the car two weeks ago so I had pictures of it on my phone. When I responded «fine, let’s compare photos» he responded he didn’t need to because they had a witness instead, the security guard at the Met that assisted with the tow. My car is black and was towed at 10:03 at night. How this guy could claim any picture or security guard could have captured this particular damage in the pitch black darkness when my car was getting towed is beyond me. The manager also wouldn’t show any documentation, the supposed photos, witness statement, only the document they create after a car is towed showing damage. Convenient! If I damaged a car towing it, my paperwork would say the car was damaged when I picked it up too! Luckily for me the fender popped back into place and the scratches on the bottom of the car are not visible unless your’re looking for them. However in dealing with these people and seeing how they BS their way out of even modest damage, I can only imagine what they do when they damage someone’s car for real (and I’m sure they have).
One of the towers here had a plate on his personal car that said «love 2 tow u». I think that alone speaks volumes of the practices employed at Howard Sommers. It’s about money, they don’t care about damaging your car or doing good business. Stay away from this place (they also do voluntary towing, I would rather leave my stalled car in the middle of the street). I would also stay away from the Met in woodland hills lest you be forced into a meeting with Howard Summers. I’m reporting them to the BBB.

Tow truck driver 17-​Ray, watched me park my car between his truck and another car, at 5 min. after 4PM. My Eye Dr.‘s appt. was at 4;15. I always park there and didn’t see the no parking after 4pm sign behind his truck. He could have said something. Where i come from people are not like that. It cost me $ 419.35 for my mistake and his inhuman behavior. Don’t use this company if you are a human being.
