I have taken my Volvo to Scott and Eddie for about 7 years. When I mentioned how Calabasas Volvo dealer (now closed) seemed to push extra services, a friend recommended Nilsson’s. I am extremely happy with Nilsson’s. Scott and Eddie do their best to take care of any issues with my car, big and small. They explain repair options, and I feel very comfortable that they are honest and caring. I wish all shops were as conscientious.

Scott and Eddie are two of the kindest, most generous and trustworthy people out there! They are so incredibly ethical and honest, and they go above and beyond for all of their customers. I don’t even drive a Volvo anymore and I go all the way into the deep Valley for them! Would trust them with anything!

I agree with the other reviewers… these guys know their stuff! They’ve been working on Volvos for 30+ years and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with mine (2000 V70). They are honest and super friendly. They tell you exactly what’s wrong, how much it will cost to fix, and that’s it. They don’t push you to fix something that doesn’t need fixing, but they will let you know if they anticipate something else possibly needing attention down the road. If you own a Volvo, don’t take it anywhere else!

I never thought to leave these a review about Nilsson’s. They’re great. Scott and Eddie are, for lack of a better way of saying it, two honest mechanics who I trust to work on my Volvo. After going there for the last three years, I can’t imagine going anywhere else now. Highly recommend.

I have been taking my 2008 Volvo XC90 to Nilsson’s for about a year for oil changes and maintenance. They are very reasonably priced. I am most impressed by their level of honesty. I had an check engine light on. I brought my car in hoping it wasn’t anything serious. Turns out I just didn’t have my gas cap closed tight enough. I would DEFINITELY recommend them for any Volvo work needed!

Scott and Eddie are a great team and know their stuff. Very honest in their work. Been taking my T5 into their shop for the last two years and they are always very helpful. Prices are reasonable. And they will let you know if something is major or minor. Had a trunk issue that was fixed recently. License plate frame happened to have a small rattle. They took it upon themselves to fix just because. It’s the little things that make them better than the rest.

Trust these guys, and do not take your Volvo anywhere else. I have spent a lot of time trying out different Volvo repair places, looking for a shop that:
1) writes clear receipts that itemize the parts and labor.
2) presents more than one option and makes a reasonable recommendation, sometimes recommending waiting and doing nothing.
3) has dedicated experience repairing Volvos.
For more than 10 years, I would drive my 1994 Volvo 740 to The Dr Volvo in Orange County from Burbank, because they were the only shop I had found that I could trust. With my wife’s 2001 Volvo XC, I searched for and found the perfect local repair shop. Nilsson’s Volvo is here in the San Fernando Valley and has the same knowledge and dedication that made The Dr Volvo great.

What a breath of fresh air it is to find an honest mechanic. Before I found Scott and Eddie I had my car repaired by someone else and it still wasn’t running right, wanting a second opinion, I took my car to Nilssons Volvo, and right away could tell I was in good hands. They have an amazing deal for first time customers on an oil change, aside from that, they ran a check on my car for free and showed me what came up. The dealer charges over $ 100 to run that same engine check! They are real, honest, tell you what needs to get done and what can wait. I will never take my car elsewhere again. Thank you Scott and Eddie so glad to have found you!!!

These guys are the greatest Volvo mechanics in the world!!! I had taken my 2004 S60 Turbo to another mechanic in the valley that was also a Volvo specialist 2 times and the dealership once. None of them could fix my intermittent hesitation problem I was having. Scott and Eddie had my car for 2 days replaced my fuel pressure sensor and the car has never run better. They would have had it done in one day but Scott said they wanted to keep it an extra day to make sure the car was perfect and had no other problems. That is the what makes these guys so great, they take pride in what they do and want to make sure your car is fixed right the first time all at a fair price. I mentioned I took my car to the dealership and they could not fix it even though I spent over $ 1,100 .On top of that they said I needed another $ 2,300 worth of repairs including struts, springseats, control arm bushings, front brake pads and rotors, well guess what Scott and Eddie looked my car over top to bottom and I did not need any of those repairs. As a matter of fact they showed me all the things the rip off dealer said I needed so I could see for myself, my brakes still had over 50% pad remaining. I found out about them on Unilocal and they are the best. I can see why L A Magazine has voted these guys «the best auto mechanics in town» for several years, so if you are not happy with your Volvo mechanic, RUN do not walk to Nilssons Volvo they are incredible, just read the other reviews. Oh yeah they are really nice guys and there shop is so clean you could eat off the floor, seriously!

I first found out about this place when someone put a flyer on my Volvo in my work parking lot. Normally, I ignore those, but I’m glad I read this one. I’ve been looking for a Volvo specialist after my warranty expired and the dealers charge $ 1K pretty much every time I would go. Scott and Eddie are very honest. They only recommend what they know my car needs. I think I’ve saved thousands going here over the last few years. The location is close to my work so I come here first thing in the morning and either Scott or Eddie drops me off and then picks me up during my lunch break. I appreciate that kind of service. They ALWAYS complete my service in one day or just a few hours. I haven’t had any problems with my car since I’ve been taking it in to them so I know they are doing a great job. My car is a Volvo S40 and has over 100K miles on it and they keep telling me it will last for several more years since it’s running really well.
I even called Scott when I went into panic mode when my car wouldn’t start one morning and had all kinds of various display signs. Scott suspected it was the battery but I couldn’t even start it so I was a bit worried. I ended up taking it to a Volvo dealership nearby due to my AAA mileage allowance, but I would have prefered to take it to Scott. He was right, it was just a battery and I paid probably three times as much for Volvo to find that out.
Finally, there’s such a thing as a trustworthy mechanic. There are two actually… Scott and Eddie!

Tucked away amongst a multitude of auto shops in Canoga Park, these guys are worth the search– a gem among jewels. I have a Volvo S60 from 2003 and I have spent too much money on repairs– not since my dad was friends with a mechanic have I had such an honest mechanic and the prices are reasonable for the work done. I’m glad I found them.

I have been bringing my 2002 Volvo V70XC here ever since I bought it 5 years ago.
Scott and Eddie give the most incredible service. They are honest and never try to sell me on any repairs that I don’t need. In fact, I just took my car to the local dealship service for a recall notice and the dealership called me up and hour later and quoted me for $ 1300 worth of work, most of which was supposedly needed urgently. I picked the car up and brought it to Nilsson’s and after looking at my car, they let me know that none of the work needed to be done anytime soon. It was normal wear and tear to parts that would probably need to be replaced, but not for quite a while.
Additionally, their prices for service and repairs are signifigantly cheaper than the dealer.
