I went to Sal to replace my front brakes and rotors after reading the reviews online. I looked around the entire valley for a decent price and quality because the Toyota dealership wanted to charge me a fortune for the service. Not only did Sal save me more than half of the cost, the service and quality of the work is better than the dealerships! Sal is very knowledgable and I would recommend him for any service you need!

I had Sal do my rear brakes on my Porsche and I’m waiting to bring the car over for him to do my front brakes. The car is unique — wide body and everything on a Porshce costs too much to repair.
Sal was very reasonable, he called around for front brake pads and senors for me original Textar parts and he only marked the wholesale up $ 20 — and his labor rates are very reasonable.
I’m giving him 5 Stars because he’s an honest guy, the shop and co-​workers are all nice and capable people and mechanics.
I would recommend Sal and his shop for all repairs, tires etc.

Here’s a great sign of an honest mechanic: He allows you to bring in your own parts and simply charges a respectable labor rate. That’s what Sal did for us today, on out first (but not last!) visit.
Brought in a water pump, coolant and spark plugs I bought on Amazon, and Sal installed them in a couple hours. All in all, it saved us hundreds off of what the Northridge Toyota dealership wanted. Also got an oil change & tire rotation while we we’re there. Very happy with Sal!

Best deal, best service, and fast work. Have been going for all my work. I recommend him to everyone.

One of the best mechanics in the Valley. We have used Sal for years and recently I broke down in San Fernando away from my home and was talked into going to a shop in Pacoima. They completely ripped me off and suggested more repairs. I went to Sal and he completed the repair at $ 200 less than the other mechanic wanted to charge me. He’s awesome and I learned my lesson. I’ll never go to anyone but Sal.

My family and I have been going to Sal for twenty years. First it was only for breaks which they did great job at a vey good price. Please note that if you don’t need pads or shoes it won’t sell them to you. That’s honest. A few years ago he expanded his service and I needed a few major repairs and his quote was way better than a local shop that was going to charge double and also for work I didn’t need. His customer base are repeat clients and we are one of them. You put a lot of trust in a mechanic and Sal is one we have trusted. Fair and honest. Thanks Sal for a good job done

I had a terrific experience with this repair shop. My car broke down at the nearby Costco and it was 6pm on a Wednesday night when most shops are starting to close. I didn’t have AAA towing nor was i even close to my local repair shop. I happened to look up this place on Unilocal and and found Sal’s Canoga Brake Service. I’m normally skeptical of any auto repair shops that i don’t know, mainly because i have been ripped off in the past. Desperate, I needed to have my car towed and have it repaired. So, i gave it a shot. I got a hold of Sal who happens to be the owner. He had my car towed to his shop, and also gave me a ride home. They fixed my car the next day and charged me a very reasonable price. I got really lucky this time and glad i found Sal. If you are ever in need of honest upfront repair place. Check this guy out. After being told by Vista Ford (in Woodland Hills — Canoga and Ventura) that it would cost me $ 1,000+ to have my alternator replaced, I couldn’t believe it. My car is a 2003 Ford Escape, has almost 100,000 miles on it but is in great condition. I thought, «there’s no way it could be this much.» After getting opinions of co-​workers and friends, I was referred to Sal. It was the best decision I have made since becoming a first-​time car owner this year.
Sal willingly and promptly towed my car (a service he was not providing at the time) after it broke down on Victory and Canoga during lunch hour because Ford failed to charge my battery after I asked them to. He also charged me less than half of what Ford did including the towing, labor and two major part replacements.
From the get go, he leveled with me about pricing and worked around my schedule to get the job done. It’s so hard to find a trustworthy, dependable, honest-​businessman nowadays, especially with the economy the way it is. But Sal is truly the best! I would recommend him again and again.

This is my second review for Sal beacause for some reason my first one never shows up! I am sitting here in sal’s office waiting for him to finish my oil change on my lunch break. I am so glad I have found my perfect mechanic. He really saved my butt when I first met him. I got severly screwed over by Break Masters and he instructed me on how to make them fix my car. After that fiasco I will never go anywhere else again for any of my car repair/​maitenence needs. He does everything, not just breaks too! I got two brand new tires from him at a fraction of the cost I have paid in the past. If you are looking for a trustworthy kind mechanic– go see Sal and he will hook it up!!!
