I would have to say that I basically fell backwards into locksmithing. My plan was to attend culinary school after Le Cordon Bleu partnered with a US school, and I had everything arranged. They, however, did not. When I got to Maine, the school had not found me housing as was their responsibility, so I had to turn around and come back to Ohio. I took the first job I could find, which was at a small lock shop in Akron, and the owner turned out to be the salt of the earth. One of the best people I have ever known, and lucky for me since I was very mechanically inclined. I ended up being extremely good at locksmithing and I absolutely love my work, even though I still love to cook at home.
