Had a fun time at Max & Erma’s. We came on the spur of the moment with my son, his baseball team and parents, in total 16 of us. Just wanted to thank or servers KC& Kelley for doing a great job waiting on us and our table of kids. The food came out in a timely manner and everything was warm and nicely plated. I’m assuming most people know their menu but if not its American type food. I had the mushroom burger cooked medium & fries. Overall an enjoyable night.

Bad food bad service. The bartender charge me for the food that I left untouched, and never even bothered to ask me what was wrong with it. Never going there again.

My daughter and I are African American. We waited 25 minutes to be waited on. No one came so we walked out. It was like we were invisible. I will never grace there door again.

Max and Erma’s is always my go to restaurant. They have a variety on the menu. I take my son every Tuesday for kids eat free night. He enjoys the free meal they also have a $.99 ice cream for the kids. I must note that in order to get a free kids meal an adult entrée has to be purchased. We came out spending seven dollars for both of our meals. There were not a lot of diners there around 6 o’clock but the restaurant seems to fill up toward seven. They are very family-friendly and have a great atmosphere. My only complaint is that they are sometimes low on staff and there can be a wait. So far I have not had any major problems and I go almost every week. It is worth noting that if you do not belong to the Max and Erma’s reward program you should sign up. They offer a ton of freebies and discounts throughout the year.

This was one of my favorite restaurants when I lived in Canton, so I couldn’t pass up a visit while I was in town. They have updated the restaurant a bit, but the menu has stayed relatively the same. My husband loves their tortilla soup(I think just about everyone day) and we both love the buffalo chicken sandwich! Their salads and breadsticks are also very good. And don’t forget to place an order of chocolate chip cookies to devour for dessert! It’s nothing fancy, but for the price of the food and drinks — we love it! Also, service over the years has been hit or miss, but we loved our server Jerome this past visit!

Loved the food… hated the service. Liked the idea of shareable things on the menu and they were good. I really wasn’t sure if our waitress was new or just really bad at her job. Not pleasant or efficient at a quiet lunchtime. Will gladly return to Max and Erma but not this location.

Bland, tasteless, flat… cheese on kid’s grilled cheese that doesn’t melt, 3 course combo with no cookie because they burned it… waiting an extra 15 minutes when the family is ready to go is not an option. Slow service from staff all around!

Went here not that long ago. The menu barely had anything great on it. The food was just ok. The service was terrible. The only thing that was great was the hot chocolate chip cookies. They need new items for their menu. There’s to much focus on hamburgers. Need to offer more variety of food. Won’t be going back.

We went for a family lunch and felt rushed, kind of like the«Coney Island» rush. Our server, Chelsea, was untrained and unfocused on her job. From not trying to sell appetizers or desserts or not following the food to the table to make sure everything was prepared to our expectations. The lunch hour was slow in the dining room where we were sat and she gave more attention to her departed table than her only live table. No drink refills then prematurely started clearing table. My mother asked Her to package her leftovers but instead handed her 2 over sized foam containers. My mother didn’t understand that the server wasn’t willing to fill her request. When I explained to her what was happening and that I would take care of it once I was finished eating, the example of premature table clearing. At this point Chelsea acted confused mumbled her words but managed to move the food to the table behind us saying that this wasn’t normal procedure. Huh? Customer service and exceeding guest expectations are or should be normal procedure. So as to not pile on Chelsea I will share the host actually approached a table and offered to do them a favor and get drinks for them, because they didn’t know who was going to be assigned the table? WTF, where was the floor manager, Matthew I think, a customer should never see you are incapable if doing your job. As for the ambiance, I witnessed burnt out light bulbs, the salt caddy hadn’t been moved between uses– as we sat we moved it and left a trail of salt behind until we stopped repositioning it on the table, cob webs, sloppy chalk board advertising on men’s room stall door, fake flowers on the rest room sink counter and dirty floors. All front of house tile was I badly in need of deep cleaning, not only is the grout dirty but the texture of the tile unfortunately holds dirt when not cleaned properly over a series of time. The waste of electricity by burning lightbulbs outside at high noon and a parking lot littered with cigarette butts and paper will complete this review.

Amazing service. They have the best manager of any restaurant in the area. If there is ever a mistake, he takes care of it, sincerely apologizes, and offers cookies as an apology. Most managers around here are fake and do not care about their restaurant’s mistakes; they just say the normal, «I’m sorry. I’ll have them re-make it,» with no sense of sincerity. Bartenders are very friendly and always conversational. With that being said, there is NOT usually something wrong with the food; the restaurant is open late and has the«healthiest» of all the restaurants still open at that time. The food is pretty good for being a big company… puts TGI Fridays and Applebees to shame; that’s for sure.

Friendly and quick service. My favorites are the fish tacos and chicken pecan salad. Consistently good food and generous drinks from the bar! Also the banana cream pie is delicious.

Max and Erma have a great place. My husband and I took some friends here after they helped us with a project at our house. I thought this would be a great place to take them as our one friend has some dietary restrictions and I thought the menu would have a little bit of everything. I was right! We came on Saturday, around 6 or so. There were 6 of us and we were seated quickly at a hightop table underneath a really cool, fancy light fixture. We ended up ordering the potato skins as a starter(they were great), and then ribs, the Santa Fe salad, cajun shrimp pasta, a mushroom and swiss burger, and two orders of fish and chips. Everyone seemed to like them. There were a lot of clean plates(except for mine, too much food). I thought the sauce on the pasta was a little bland, but the shrimp were extremely large and plentiful. My husband ended up ordering the ribs with onion rings, which were awesome. Thin, crispy and seasoned just right. Our friends daughter ended up getting a piece of chocolate cake for dessert. It looked delicious and was huge! k $ 126 for two sodas, two beers, and two glases of wine as well as 6 large entrees, an appetizer and a dessert isn’t a bad deal. In addition, the waitress, Rita, was OUTSTANDING. Patient, attentive, and a lot of fun. They do trivia from time to time and have great happy hour specials. I’ll come back, often! :)

We had a great dinner on our Valentines Day /17th Wedding Anniversary! The waiter came right on time. He was«sunny» and smiling and seemed as if he was enjoying his job! Also he takes it seriously, as he helped me figure out how to ask for a sirloin just exactly how I wanted it! Oh…& because it is Valentines Day I even got a red Carnation ! The manager stopped by and asked how our meal was going … Embarrassingly enough, it was GONE! The food was awesome, the warm chocolate chip cookies just added sweetness to the end of dinner! Everything tasted awesome and we had a lovely anniversary/Valentines dinner together!!!

Kitschy and retro — the overall vibe is fun, colorful and festive. Pictures of Tigers and Red Wings heroes adorn the walls, along with a reminder of their ‘Free Cookie Wednesday’ promotion(any purchase gets you two free, fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies.) There’s nice tile work and plenty of space. Two spacious stalls greet you with a hand-painted sign labeling them a ‘Beer Recylcing Area.’ Fun. They went with classic brushed aluminum craft paper towel dispensers and the Ecolab ‘Clean & Smooth’ line for the soap. Overall cleanliness was passable, but not top-notch. I would definitely agree with Laura F that this location is superior to the Westland, MI location.

This location FAR better than the Westland, mi location. The food and quality/quantity was great and all correctly made(unlike westland). We be going to this location from now on even though it is a further from us.

I really found the hygiene here lacking. Crumbs and food on the carpet and under my table. But worst of all I sat at the back of the restaurant by the bussing and silverware desk. I had just viewed a TV documentary where the most unhygienic and germ laden place was the rag that was used over and over at restaurants to clean off tables etc. And here it was right in front of my eyes. The servers pick up the cloth out of the little red bowl/bucket(see my pic), clean tables, chairs etc with it and then put it(and on 2 occasions throw it) back into the red bowl before grabbing the napkin silverware package with the same hand. You get more than you expect — a napkins, silverware AND a generous portion of all the bugs around the restaurant that day. Ewwwww On one occasion a dirty rag actually landed in the silverware — no problem, just grab it and put it back in the bowl to get recharged with filth. No thanks.

I’ve never had anything bad here. It’s always good food and friendly Waiters and Waitress. The food is similar in taste to many other chains that serve the same kind of food. What makes Max and Erma’s unique is their Delicious Tortilla Soup. I’m not one that enjoys Spicy things which the Tortilla soup sort of is but theirs is pretty good. The cookies are always great to. They are always fresh out of the oven.

I have eaten here more times than I can recall. Have gone with kids, with someone in a wheelchair, with adult friends. Every time we have loved what we get. The sundae bar looks awesome — though we have never tried it. My absolute favorite there is the Tomato Mozzarella Chicken sandwich with a cup of tortilla soup.(OMGZERS the tortilla soup!!!). Friendly waiters every time we have gone. Sometimes it takes a long, long time for the food to get to you — even though it doesn’t seem very busy. We get curbside to go a lot too. If you order drinks double check that you got them, kids chocolate milk has been left out several times(I wasn’t the one picking up).
