Mill Creek Ranch Resort

We always enjoy our stay at Mill Creek Ranch Resort! The staff is always so friendly and accommodating and the proximity to Trade Days makes it perfect as well as the many amenities the resort has to offer! Thanks, as always, for a great weekend!

This resort is nice. But for the price I was a little disappointed. We arrived later in the evening. It lacks lighting… lots of it. It was our first time and we had no clue where to go, it was dark, signs didn’t say anything. RV site is nice and large, it’s quiet. We stayed at front of property, there were 2 restrooms, 1 for men and 1 for women. With one shower and one toilet in each. For as large as this property is, I would expect larger bathrooms. There may have been more bathrooms in back of property but not any close to our site. My husband and 2 kids used the bicycles & disc golf. It cost $ 5/​per person/​per day for resort fee. No wifi, which I don’t mind, didn’t need it, but once again for the price should have been included. Bonus: close to Trade Days and kids liked playground

I actually discovered this place riding the trolley during a Trade Days months prior to my visit and just knew that I had to make reservations.
So with friends birthdays coming up, we booked a cabin here and I must say, it’s a nice change in pace from the «city life». The cabin itself was nice and clean and the back patio was serene with views of a pond. We rented a golf cart so that we could wander around the premises when we wanted. Beautiful grounds, and beautiful weather lead us to never be inside. There are a dozen ponds to fish at, with paddle boats to rent at the front pond. Friendly neighbors and staff and ²⁴⁄₇ concierge if you didn’t rent a cart and needed to be picked up and taken to your car. (They aren’t allowed near the cabins)
There is an RV section and then the cottage section and 2 separate pools. There are also frisbee golf and life size chess and battleship games on the grounds.
There was a flyer that showed live music nights and bingo, but we decided to hang out at our cabin instead.
I definitely see myself coming back for a weekend or longer again. Note: I went on a non trade day week, so it wasn’t crowded at all.

Mill Creek Ranch is a well maintained park with easy access and great amenities. The park is close to the highway, but you cannot hear the traffic. The pools are great and the internal roads are smooth. Definitely either bring bikes or rent them at the front, as the campground is spread out. My only «complaint» is that the cable service offered was very fuzzy, and our neighbors to either side of us reported the same. We were able to get good reception using our antenna. Also, the picnic table was in rough shape, as were the tables around us. I would definitely plan on returning.

Only one because I can’t give zero. We had reservations for Friday, February 27, 2015. Per their cancellation policy any cancellation made 72 hours out would not receive any cancellation charges. I called on Tuesday, February 24, 1015 to cancel our reservations due to bad weather. I was informed that I would be charged for the first day. When I inquired I was told that, I am only doing what «they» told me to do. I have stayed in this park in the past and it is a lovely park. It is too bad and any of you that stay here after reading this are only encouraging and rewarding bad behavior. Hope $ 40 was worth losing a return customer.

This is a beautiful place. We are looking forward to coming here often, during Trade Days of course. There is a free shuttle service that runs every hour to take you to the biggest flea market/​craft fair we’ve ever been to. There are a few catch and release fishing ponds here and pools to swim in. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The ONLY reason I’m not giving them a 5 Star rating is the internet. They charge $ 5 for the use and it’s super slow and seldom available. They need to make it free and let the customer cross their fingers that they get on. All and all its a great place.

Nice place with a very friendly staff. Pools are beautiful but a bit small when others are there (kids splashing, etc). I’m a bit bummed with the no alcohol at pool policy due to TBAC, but understand its state law. Should have brought some ant killer

Okay, I have to give this place four stars solely based on the fact I have nothing to compare this type of resort to, but it was amazing.
I lucked out that a friend was having her wedding ceremony and reception here, so I packed up the car and headed to Canton for the weekend. We crashed for a night in one of their sleeper cabins that was just precious. It’s amazing what they can do with wood and a certain square footage. This little two-​story loft-​like cabin was built to house a lot of amenities (washer/​dryer, stove, microwave, full bath, full fridge, etc.) in such a small space.
We were golf-​carted to our cabin, and then the five of us took dibs on where we were sleeping. This kid won out and took the loft that was positioned right over the kitchen and seemed like a secret tree fort from my childhood.
The grounds were expansive and beautiful. I had no idea this place existed off the road, but once we got back here it was just so unique. Because they’re a resort they all sorts of activities that were worth looking into as well.
The staff was very friendly; however, my friend’s experience with their wedding/​event planner was not so great. :(All in all, worth looking into and maybe taking a break out of your element.

Nice level parking spots, mostly all pull-thru’s which makes for easy parking. Nothing shaded although we didn’t need it when we visited. The middle of January and the place was completely deserted. I guess during First Monday’s this place would be packed. Seems like it would be a good park to visit in better weather.

Very disappointed! This rated one of highest in state of Texas with woodalls and good sam’s…they must have known the inspectors were coming. The park does have amenities, however, it is not very well maintained and very expensive for being so run down… we were there on a holiday weekend, our site and neighboring sites were like unmowed hayfields…
We asked three times to have someone please mow our site… had to even sign some waiver to allow them to mow!!! Took them two days and lots of apologies, and then they only mowed our site and even thou our neighbors signed the waiver also, they never did mow their site…
If u want to use the spa, stand in line behind all the little kids., with all their toys and floats as they don’t have any age limit on the hot tub… Internet was constantly up and down!
Customer service was young kids that were pretty useless in getting anything done… very pricey and not stellar in my books and extremely disappointing for what is listed as a top rv resort…
They need to go visit buckhorn in kerrville and take notes!,

We decided to getaway for Easter weekend and wanted something with an oven to make Easter dinner in so we packed up 5 kids in two cars Friday night and headed to Mill Creek, From Flower Mound, this is about an hour 15 to hour and a half drive depending on the state of 635 :).
As I am sure everyone already knows, Canton is known for its first Monday Trade Day weekends so if you go, do not ever plan on going that weekend (unless you are going to the flea market) as it will be PACKED.
This place is a combination of small cottage resort and RV park with two clubhouses, two pools and a hot tub. It is super clean, private and has many water features on the cabin side. We got a cabin with a loft and shoved three kids up there and had two boys sleep in a tent (on the cabin’s lot) the first night.
The second night, I took one boy home and picked up my daughter who slept on the pull out couch that night (yes 635 was awful even on a Saturday).
The cabin we had was equipped with picnic tables, chairs and a fire ring. Some of the «executive» cabins have all the above plus outdoor kitchens and fireplaces (in addition to a conversation pit designed around a fire ring).
Friday night they had «dinner service» with a couple sandwich choices and a full bar (the county is dry). Saturday they had about three kids activities scheduled including showing Hop at night and Sunday they had Sunrise Easter service and an egg hunt with face painting for the kids.
Overall, I would say it is one of the best RV parks around, but for $ 175-​$ 200/​night, it better be :)

My husband and I decided to plan a couples retreat outside of Dallas. We found the Mills Creek Resort! It’s only about 30 – 45 minutes outside of Dallas in a small town called Canton, Texas. Canton is known for its first Monday Trade Days! One of the largest Trade Flea Markets in North Texas. This small cottage resort offered the BEST cottages that were super clean, private and so romantic. The resort offers fishing, biking, hiking and much more. We stayed in the Crystal Cottage! Very cute and romantic. The Staff was super friendly and the Director of Sales, Stacy was just super nice! They have several restaurants around the area to choose from, but the cottages come equipped with full kitchens, so you can cook as well. They do have RV park stations with Bön fire areas. I think this place is perfect for a little get away or a retreat! Check it out!!!
