Whenever I come here I always have a good experience. The owner is nice and jokes around. The wife; I believe, makes amazing homemade ice cream which you can buy like you would in an ice cream shop(cone or cup) or in tubs to bring home. They have a large selection of animal products(pet and wildlife). And their new additions, which are awesome, are a dog park and grooming area! This place has a lot to offer ;) Pros– friendly, amazing homemade ice cream, large selection of products, grooming, dog park Cons– high prices

I am not sure why there are such negative reviews of this store. It is well run, and has a wide variety of high quality dog and car food as well as great birding supplies. The two groomers I have dealt with have been really great — very patient and kind to my elderly black lab– not always a given with groomers I have found. My one criticism would be that the pet food is expensive, but not that much more than good quality food elsewhere, and I prefer to patronize local business as opposed to big chain stores. As far as the attitude of the owners and employees, I have always been well treated.

It’s funny, when I checked in here, I did notice the low star rating, but didn’t bother to read the reviews. We purchased our buffalo blue dog food here because I was interested in supporting local Buisness. As my wife and I left the store though, the first thing I said was«I think they need a class in how to smile»… Then I read these reviews and laughed! They are spot on. Not sure who was who in the place but one thing I did pick up on was their lack of awareness for the customer base. We walked in without a hello. We left without a thank you. On top of there being one register open for six people in line, the women proceeded to ask us if we wanted to be entered into their database to build reward points. Being in retail, I know this takes time and can frustrate others in line so we do it when the opportunity is apprpriot, but not when multiple people have to wait, and of course my wife says, «yes»! When we left, I actually apologized to the line of cutomers, seeing that the staff member needed to add all the info, name, address, phone prior to ringing us up. To boot, when I opened the dog food, I noticed it was drier looking then what we purchased from tractor supply. I checked the exp. date and it is for dec 2013, over 7 month out of date… So I just went out of my way, to support local buisness to be given old stock and pay $ 5.00 more then I was. Hmmmmm, hey Kate P, this is why the rating is so low, and if this place is as great as you say, what’s with only 3 stars? This should be a joy to deal with now. Ugh.

The name has changed but the owner remains the same. Hence the issues. It’s just wonderful to spend money at a place where they don’t greet you, barely thank you and rarely acknowledge your presence. The owner is the biggest offender of this! No wonder his employees act the same. The only good part about Petals and Paws in Canton is Linda the groomer, and I believe she’s relatively new to the company. Spend your hard-earned money at a place where they actually care about their customers.
